Still looks like a happy girl running around in the country side. When I worked up there I would run out from town over the spider bridge and back round to the travel lodge.
Well done! I'll be competing in a trail run myself in two weeks. My first ever. Not exactly an Ultra at 'only' 8 miles, but the elevation profile will be something I've never experienced before. I hope I have as much fun as it looked like you both did.
Love the video, I did the full route and although I had the route on my basic watch (no maps, just a line), I used the written instructions as my primary nav. Reading/map reading on the move is something worth practising, when that tech fails, you'll be gratefull. Still had a few off course moments though. I only fell once too, on the really gloopy bit in Hawthorn Dene, not sure I saw that on the video 😂 Well done to you both on your longest runs 👍👏👏
Great video . Walking hills and eating loads are the best things about trail running… well done both of you 👊🏃♀️🏃🏻♂️
Thanks Michael! It definitely makes a difference from trying to drink a gel whilst running fast! 😂
That nearly killed me 😂 - how many times can one person go the wrong way! Absolute quality guys!! 👏👏👏
@@freddyruns haha fast, but navigationally challenged 😂
Brilliant video. That looked like so much fun guys. I'd blame the watch for the navigation issues! 😁
Haha yes - all on the watch! 😅
Loved the video thanks.
Thanks Paul ☺️ so glad you enjoyed it!
Well done guys! Looks like a complicated and tough trail (albeit very picturesque!) but yous smashed it!
Thank you Kate! 💙 it was honestly one of the best races we’ve ever done! ☺️
Great to meet you guys in Flat White Cafe in Durham last Saturday morning! Great vid 👍🏼☺️
It was lovely you meet you, Hannah and Ralph 🐶 ! Thanks for watching - hope you enjoyed watching Chris fall off the cliff 😂
Looks like the race could have a few more signs in places. Well done on your longest runs!
Thank you Grant 🙌🏻 and a few signs might have been helpful 🤣
Let yourself walk the hills in a competition, especially a long one ! saves energy.
Haha I’m sure he’ll learn one day Helen! 😂

and some guy that is just being silly and not paying attention to the. maps or his body, he'll feel it later....
Haha I love a trail run, it’s very true! ☺️
Pretty much sums it up haha!

Thank you David and well done on completing the full course 👏👏 good tips on the navigation, we could definitely use them that’s for sure haha!
The video I've been waiting for! Someone please hold my tea, I'll be back in 28mins
Chris, Kayleigh, great video, congrats on mixed-3rd! Thanks, helps a lot.
@@heighRick hope it was worth waiting for tea for haha!
@@heighRick thanks so so much! 😃
@@those2runners ahh, cup of, I'd not have let my tea go cold 😉 ..but appreciate that may just confuse everyone that's not from the north east
Well done both 👏🏻👏🏻
Surly that’s the next challenge…….to become a member of the 1% club and run a road marathon 🤔
I can recommend some 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! ☺️
2025 - Watch this space 😉…
A master class in navigation 😂
@@AlastairCunningham-g4z 😂😂😂 something like that haha!
Fantastic guys, well done!
@@andrewstevens6355 thanks so much Andrew! ☺️
Well done. What an achievement 👏👏👏👏
@@jillclark1310 thank you Jill! 😃
Sorry, Idid laugh how many times you got lost.
Great video really enjoyed it.
When are you doing an ultra? Fancy one down South???
Thanks Iain! My Ultra is in March in Northumberland! We’d love to come south for more races - hopefully in 2025!
Wow. That seemed very different. How were you getting directions of where to go? From your watch?
Yes - very different for us! Yes we used maps on the watch, but it’s just an arrow that you follow along a line 😅
That navigation is not as easy as it sounds eh? 😂 Great running though guys 😁👍
@@markg99 haha definitely not 🤣 thank you!
What shoes did you go with? Looks too boggy for road shoes but a lot of pavement for trail shoes!
@@BreezyCactus we both wore the Nike Ultrafly which are honestly perfect for that mixed terrain and super comfortable! 😃
Exactly what I wanted to ask!
Just gonna put it out there Chris, but by any chance did you skip Scouts in your youth!?!?!?!? 🤣🤣
🤣🤣
He prides himself on being good at directions too 😅
@ fake news! 😂
Aww,,,I miss home! 34 deg and flies, Australia has it's downsides!! Pensha! 😁👊❤🤍🖤
Haha! You can’t beat Pensher Stuart 😉
