Aw Kayleigh bless you. Great graft getting that finished. Sometimes the body just says no. Find the fun in running however you can and bounce back well. Thanks for shining a light on the downs as well as the ups- a genuine reflection of life as an amateur runner. Be kind to yourself. KOR
Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m fine now thank you - perspective helps, although the video was a tough watch! Aw thanks, we’ll always try to be honest that’s for sure, so so glad that was appreciated 😊 KOR always! 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♂️
Aw thanks Emma! Honestly, I totally understand, but just keep pushing through - that’s all we can do! ☺️ thank you for your kind words! Keep on running!
I can't tell you the number of times I've told myself, "I should've signed up for the 5k" while running a 10k or half marathon. That race looked pretty tough with those hills and combined with humidity.... You are looking at a tough day. We've all been there. Still your time was respectable and you got it done. Loved the scenery... Lots of variety and yes I've done a race or two where I had to cross under the starting banner. Enjoyable video and thanks for taking me along!
Blimey, I live in Durham so am familiar with all those hills and would definitely not like to run up them, especially in the order you had to on this route. Hats off to you - you did an amazing job! Also absolutely loved Mr Conehead at 6:55 and very enthusiastic chap at 12:01 - they both made me smile :)
Well done guys. I know you weren't feeling that one at the time, but like you said at the end you got an amazing finish time. I think it's admirable that you didn't shy away from showing the bits you struggled, it's a very real thing that happens to us all at some point and I love that you guys are open and honest enough to show that running - as with life - is not always plain sailing and smiles. But you also show the strength of determination and teamwork and that hard work and effort pays off. Plus it was nice to see smiley Adrian bounding along, he's one of life's good guys. Kayleighs market place though, glad that still made an appearance, I could watch that (and Chris' reaction to your accent!) all day long 😆 You should pitch it to the BBC! Well done again, be proud, be bold and keep on running.
Thank you Chris! It was a tough one to edit, watch and put out but we promise to always be honest - you’re right, it isn’t always plain sailing and it takes real strength to push through when the chips are down 😊 so thank you! Haha I think if we pitched that to the BBC, I’d never be allowed down south ever again 🤣 really glad you enjoy it though haha! Thanks for the support - KOR 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♂️
Lovely vid. Kayleigh 11:21 - 11:29, this is how I feel 500 metres into ANY run lately! Struggle is real. You did fantastic! Great run both of you. Great vid, thank you. Haven't seen yous in ages, hopefully will do soon. P.S. what topping did you have on pizza? Please tell me it had pineapple on? Hehe
Thank you DeeJay 😊 and don’t beat yourself up - we all go through it, it’s important just to keep going 🙌🏻 and you are so that’s the most important thing! I know - we’ll have to catch up soon! We’re hoping to be at Town Moor this weekend, but I’m nursing a bit of a niggle so we’re just going to see 😊 Haha it was chicken and roquito peppers for me - can’t remember what Chris had but he loves a pepperoni and pineapple 😉
@@those2runners Thank you for the words of encouragement! Really hope your niggle doesn't turn into anything worse, take it easy. Pizza sounds lovely. Chris is a man after my own heart, Pepperoni and Pineapple all the way! Maybe see yous at TM at weekend, take care 🙂
Loved the video. The course was a killer, the false hope of bypassing south street on the first loop the the final sprint up the cobbles only to find you had to run right round palace green to get to the finish! Planned by someone who likes hill but doesn't like runners and my first 10k after missing it last year.
Really enjoyed the video Chris and Kayleigh. I think that was a great time too Kayleigh. Especially considering the course looked busy and tough. And the humidity like Chris mentioned. Keep on running and keep making great videos ❤
Thank you for subscribing ☺️! I think there’s a few that cross the start line twice, so that one gets another honourable mention! Was quite a tough one Durham this year, but they change the route so often - who knows, it might be flat next year 😂
That looked ridiculous but you crossed the finish line and that is all that matters, the time is secondary and also was great to be fair. Well done to you both. Ps. Love the bag reveals ❤
Well done grinding that one out Kayleigh 👍 I was cursing after going up that hill at 3k. The finish confused me as I thought it finished in the same place as the previous year & knew it was more than 400m to go back there😂
We've been up to Durham as that's where Haley went to uni, they really weren't kind to you with the route were they 😂😅 well done for getting it done and looked so tough at points 😅 we love watching your vids, keep it up ❤
Yeah it was an awful route 😅 lovely city though ☺️ Thank you guys! We really enjoy your content too! Hopefully we can meet up at a race or parkrun sometime!
Brutal course. I have a pancake flat half marathon this weekend after another pancake flat half marathon 2 weeks ago. I am lazy when it comes to hills.
Aw bless you. That looked brutal. Being able to see inclines in a video means they must have been very steep in reality. Ouchy. Is that a new logo at the start?
Thanks Gordon - it definitely was a tough one!!! Ooooh well spotted - yes a new logo! We’ve had some new branding done and will be rolling it out across all the platforms shortly 😊
Don't beat yourself up flower, you still smashed it. Even when it's hard you are still out there doing it. You should come running with me, it would make you feel instantly better about your performance😂
Aw thank you Angela! It’s honestly not about pace, I know that, getting out the door and doing it is half the battle - I’m sure you’re an exceptional runner 💙. I think sometimes we get so bogged down with times we forget to enjoy it! I’m okay now though - there’ll always be races like this, but onwards and upwards 💙😊

Smashing time! I felt your pain. I'm struggling around the 5/6k mark right now so this is truly aspirational x

Thanks Eddie! I think time to reflect helps and I certainly feel better about it now - it was a tough course though! Thanks for watching 😃
Well done Kayleigh. Still a good time. I wanted to give you a hug when you looked disappointed at the end x
Aw thank you Cathy - that’s so kind of you 💙 thankfully, they aren’t all like that 😊 on to the next one! 😃 x

Great video Chris 🏃🏃Kayleigh! You continue tto inspire us to enjoy the run & Keep on Running 🤩

Planned by someone who likes hill but doesn't like runners and my first 10k after missing it last year.
Haha ‘likes hills but doesn’t like runners’ never a word so true! Well done for getting back and giving it a go - it was a tough old route!
I had a tear at the end for you Kayleigh ❤well done on pushing through
Thank you Alison 😊 I appreciate it! It was tough at the time - but I survived 😉
Really enjoyed the video Chris and Kayleigh. I think that was a great time too Kayleigh. Especially considering the course looked busy and tough. And the humidity like Chris mentioned. Keep on running and keep making great videos ❤
Thank you Jonny! ☺️ don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere 😉
Well done Kayleigh, that 10K look super tough with those hills. I had no idea Durham was so hilly. Looks a lovely city.
Thank you Geoff! Yep - it definitely has a fair few hills, but it’s a really lovely city 💙
Amazing effort!! Those hills would of finished me. You both did amazing to battle up them!!
Aw thank you Ash! It was a tough old course!
Great job getting it done. Awesome time =D keep up the good work! Those hills looked like they'd sap the energy of anyone =[
Thank you Mike! They were certainly energy sapping that’s for sure 🤪
Well done kakyeigh, I really know how you felt, but the determination was there and you finished your race and got your medal, well done 😊🏃♀️💪
Aw thanks so much Carl ☺️ sometimes you’ve got to just grind it out - luckily races like this don’t come along too often! 😉
Well done Kayleigh !! That cobbledy hill at 3k looked horrific. Kudos to the traffic wardens of Durham 😂
Thank you Vicky ❤️ haha yeah! Be careful where you park in Durham 🤣
Great effort Kayleigh. The moral of the story is clearly be careful where you park in Durham
Haha clearly 😂. Thanks Mike! 😊
This is the first time ive seen you guys. Another one to subscribe too. The wombwell 5 you cross start line twice lol. Looks a hard course that .
Thank you for subscribing ☺️! I think there’s a few that cross the start line twice, so that one gets another honourable mention! Was quite a tough one Durham this year, but they change the route so often - who knows, it might be flat next year 😂
Great effort and a great time I have never done Durham but not sure I would like the hills on the route haha
Thank you! ☺️ They change the course every year so you never know what you’re going to get - always a hilly finish though!
Great video guys! Well done Kayleigh!
Thanks so much Carl! 😃
Very well done to you both. Fantastic time. It looked very hard. So pleased I didn’t do it 🏃🏼♀️👟🏃♂️
Aw thank you Jill ❤️ it was a tough old route, but they change it every year, so who knows, there may be less hills next year haha 🤞🏼
That looked ridiculous but you crossed the finish line and that is all that matters, the time is secondary and also was great to be fair. Well done to you both. Ps. Love the bag reveals ❤
Aw thank you! And you’re so right - I still did it, when it would’ve been easier to give up! Haha glad you enjoy the bag reveals haha!
What an absolute stinker of a route! I knew it’s a tough one but my god!
You could say that 😂😂
Well done grinding that one out Kayleigh 👍 I was cursing after going up that hill at 3k. The finish confused me as I thought it finished in the same place as the previous year & knew it was more than 400m to go back there😂
Thanks Glenn! Well done to you too! What a tough old course!! I could’ve killed Chris when he said, ‘imagine a lap of the track but vertical’ 🤣

@@raleyadventuresthe real drama of the video 😂😂
Brutal course. I have a pancake flat half marathon this weekend after another pancake flat half marathon 2 weeks ago. I am lazy when it comes to hills.
I think I’ll make that my future race stipulation - pancake flat only 😂😂. Good luck for them! 😊

Well done you 2 😅 👍👍👍
Thank you Dave! 😊
I’ve done that race before, but no way was it that hard a course. That looked fecking brutal 😂
Haha 😂😂 it was definitely easier last year that’s for sure!!
Uphill finish on cobbles! Which masochist thought that route up?
I know!!! 😑 I knew that bit was coming and it still didn’t make it any easier haha
You’re great. I’m afraid the road at the city center is not friendly for running😂
Thank you! And haha I know that now 😂
That was worth about 50' on a flat course, well done!
Aw thanks Lindsay! My PB is 47.18 so you’re probably not far off ☺️ thanks for watching!
Kayleigh - suggest getting your iron levels checked. You can get exercise induced anaemia. Iron tablets help X1 per day.
Thank you - it was just a tough day at the office to be honest, but I’ll keep that in mind 😊
Have they ever ran the same route? Seems different each year.😂
I think you’re right Peter, it’s always different! They need to make their minds up 🤣
