Glad you guys enjoyed the run, also glad you left in me warning about the midgies. It is not something people give too much thought to, till they get it in the eye or mouth
I did the 1st South Shields parkrun. Up until then Silksworth was my home run, I literally had to drive to another town to do one. Now there is literally one every couple of miles in Tyneside. Did number 2 and 3 at Fulwell 👍
I did Jubilee's inaugural when they used to still have them on the events page in advance of the start. I like to leave them a few weeks now for it to settle down before I visit. I'm planning to do the 10th one of Fulwell for my Wilson Index. Such a nerd!
Ah you’ll love it! It’s such a good course 😃. Oooh we’ve not heard of that challenge! What is the Wilson Index? Don’t worry, parkrun nerds welcome - we’re a pair of pr nerds too 😜😂
Great video, I was there for the 3rd event, really enjoyed it! My first ever Parkrun was the inaugural Rising Sun 8 years ago this week, right on my doorstep, what a place to start 😀
7:51 - that was the most Geordie "ahhh maaan" I've ever heard haha. Chris is LITERALLY a Geordie now hahaha. That word also drives me nuts, my friends and family know how much it drives me mad. They've actually added an official definition to the dictionary saying "for emphasis, whilst not actually being true" because so many people use it in that (wrong) context! Great vid, literally shrieked when you got stung in the eye!! Gonna do this run and Silksworth in near future,. See yous soon, take care 🙂
I was at Fullwell Quarry the week after you. Strangely I don't remember any dog poo or midges - perhaps the midges were just there to get their inaugural parkrun 😆 I did Wynyard Woodland's inaugural and it was the wettest, puddliest parkrun I have ever done!!
That looked like a hilly race. But definitely pretty scenic. So green as well. We have the gnats on the bike trail where I run and I am constantly running into them. Years ago I got a mouthful of them at mile 23 in a marathon.... Had to pull off the course and work on clearing them from my throat. Probably cost me a minute or two off a decent race time. Love seeing your running adventures
Inaugurals….that used to be a thing. Been at over 30 now…running or volunteering. Mostly 2014 or before when it wasn’t outlawed…and it was a ranking mechanism on the most events table - 7 inaugurals or 20 different events to get on the table!
I did the inaugural Carlisle Park, Morpeth event. Can't remember how I found out about it now. I've nearly finished doing the North East Parkruns and now they've added another! 😂
Go on those 2 runners !
Thank you 🙌🏻💙
@@those2runners are you guys on Strava? Your videos really motivate me to keep going!
@@corneliatuite6774 aw thank you so much! Glad to hear it! 💙 yes we are, just search for Kayleigh and Chris Pickersgill 😃

@those2runners i used to run years ago, last race was a 10k in 2014. But seeing some of the vids lately has give me the push to go back
@ love to hear it! ☺️ you’ll have to keep us updated on your progress! We’re 100% behind you!
@those2runners was going to go for a run this morning but british weather wins lol
@ haha our cross country has been cancelled today - honestly some days it’s better to stay at home!
Great running both, hopefully your eye is okay now and we were disappointed to see Chris wasn't first woman 😂😂
Haha he’ll have to try harder next time 😂. The eye recovered quickly I’m pleased to say 🤣 thanks guys 💙
Literally 😀 another good video
Haha bang on the money! 🙌🏻 thank you!
Glad you guys enjoyed the run, also glad you left in me warning about the midgies. It is not something people give too much thought to, till they get it in the eye or mouth
Haha I can confirm a midge in the eye isn’t fun 😂

Literally so many in and around Sunderland now 😜

Ah nice one Paul! It’s my favourite so definitely a great place to start! 🙌🏻

Haha yes! It’s so annoying! Love the definition 🙌🏻
You will literally love this and Silksworth! Hope to catch up soon 😃

Thanks Kate! It’s a lush route - minus the flies 🤣
Another great video, I enjoyed the course

Urgh Eddie that sounds like a struggle! Thank you for watching as always - we’re so glad you’re enjoying the races! 😊

Really? It was a simpler time haha!
I did the inaugural Carlisle Park, Morpeth event. Can't remember how I found out about it now. I've nearly finished doing the North East Parkruns and now they've added another! 😂
You’ll get there! More to come by all accounts too!
Literally never ran an inaugural parkrun but did do the 6th one at Ballinamore 😊
Literally 😜
I almost ran you over when you had your bad midge experience. Glad to see you recovered quickly.
Thanks Chris! Was nice to chat to you afterwards! It’s the midge I blame - not you 😂
I’m already getting a crew together!
Chris can run - I’ll be head cheerleader that day! 😂
@@those2runners 😂
A parkrun collision caught on camera. Oh dear
Quite literally 😂
Literally like! Overused words
Well spotted 😉
Is it ‘of’? Most overused word, instead of ‘have’! 😂
It could ‘of’ been 😂 but that literally would’ve been our second choice 😉
'Like' is used all the time and out of context... Hate it! 😊
It’s not the one we were going for, but you’re definitely right! Although as a Mackem I’m guilty of it haha 😜
@@those2runners the northeast way is endearing, like. It’s the like morons like that like use it like it’s like a comma like 🤣
I like it 😂
