Flowers featured include New England Asters, Sedums, Bluebeard Caryopteris, Meadow Liatris, Zinnias and Parsley. Seed pods highlighted include from Common Milkweed, Butterfly Weed and Whorled Milkweed. Spotlighted butterflies include the Monarch, Red Admiral and the Black Swallowtail. Not many Monarchs this year Sad to say.
Agreed, a hot, dry summer is not good for Monarchs!
Hi Dave, I saw a monarch in my garden this week. I’m assuming it will be one of those that fly down to Mexico.
Yes, I think over the next week or two, monarchs will gather together and start their journey to Mexico. Something, I should consider this winter?

That is a great question. I hope to get out to the Crow River/Hassan Park reserve this weekend to check out the status of the monarchs congregating. I will let you know what I see!
