Color Monte is one of the first tricks I ever bought and is still one of my favs to use to this day. It absolutely slays and no one ever sees the $14 card coming.
Where did it come from
I know that trick as the ‘This, That, Other’ trick. It is fantastic and I love it. The kicker at the end blows people away as they can’t understand how you have kept it hidden for so long whilst handling the three cards for so long. Loving the videos!!

I was 25 when I learned this trick. And I got the Emmerson and West pack plus the Sidewalk Shuffle for free. How?
We were at a local magic shop, and the house magish behind the counter was showing the Color Monte to my wife. He had fooled her with every move. When it came to the double or nothing move, he asked her what color the 3rd card was. She looked at him and said, "Based on the slick moves you have just used to fool me, it is most likely a green card." And when he turned it over, revealing that the card was green, he said, laughing, "You are the first person I have shown this to who has ever gotten it right!" Judy looked at him and said, we will take the $14 in merchandise." And that's how I got the Color Monte and the Sidewalk Shuffle.
I mentioned I was 25 at the time. That was 47 years ago. And it still plays well.

I actually had that set before. Came with a DVD, but the truck was called something different. Anyway, after performing a show one day at a school, someone stole my packet wallet those 3 cards was in. But luckily it also came with a card that was just a green money symbol ($) and I left that at home. So now instead of using a nice shiny blue and red diamond and they "$14" card, u use an ace of diamonds, an ace of clubs, and the green money symbol. Don't look as good and I changed my story up now but I love doing that trick.
im trying ti do this with 3 playing cards (ace of hearts, spades, and diamonds) and i donth think its working very well, i do the double flip o show the ace of hearts, then the single flip and the ace or hearts is shown again
@@thebanman2293 @thebanman2293 the card that u want to keep hidden should be on top every time until u to the 3 count to show u only have 3 card. The one u want to show that u have three over should start at the bottom and the next card that u want to show 3 of should be in the middle. If that makes sense. So at the beginning if u want to show the ace of spades, that's in the middle, the card that u want to keep hidden on top, and the card u want to show 1 of on the bottom with the packet face down. (Want to show 2 spades but one heart: top, hidden card, middle spades, bottom hearts.) Double lift, ace of spades. Spread apart, ace of spades, bottom card ace of hearts. I hope I explained that well. Not very good with explanation without showing.

I already do this trick but it was cool to know i do it the way you do it because i feel like you are really good at control and telling the story or better yet selling the story lol.

How'd you do this trick, if you only have one set of playing-cards around, and people know that? You can't have two similar cards in a deck...
Do you have a cool variation for this case?
Yep! The two jokers - but obviously you only need one. Use a black jack or a black king as the blue diamond / "money" card being sought, and the Queen of Hearts / Ace of Hearts / Ace of Diamonds for the color effect!! 😉

Here’s a magician’s tip for how to make blanks the easiest way. Buy Axe body spray and spray a bit on a card. Use a paper towel & it will come off by magic (seriously it works. I have way too much time on my hands 🤷♂️). Love this routine! I use it still - and yes it’s easy and fun!

The “This, that, other” routine made me wonder, would it be possible to do the Abbott & Castello “Who’s on first?” routine with written cards?

I just crafted my own variant of this trick I call "Club sandwich".
In total how many decks of cards do u have?
what if from the start the choose the middle one? it happened to me a lot of times
I think my cards are too new or something because my fingers just slight off when pulling the cards down/pushing forward, or this is still too difficult for me lol
I tried this tricks a couple of times. After the double lift, even when he didn't see me doing it, he calls the middle one are random to I got screwed
This is how the pokemon card trick works i usually do this with 4 cards
