We are continuing "TE form" that we learnt from the first video ( • #13 Request (TE) form... ).
This time we are conjugating verbs that haveす, する & くる endings.
With this "TE form" you can make :
    1. Request form (e.g. Please eat)
    2. Present continuous (e.g. I'm eating now)
    and much much more :D
Please don't forget to SUBSCRIBE and LIKE the videos :)
I read all the comments and I appreciate them all xx

I never comment on TH-cam videos, but I have to leave my third post on a Misa video. Not to repeat myself, but I'm so impressed with this teacher. Misa-san has an exquisite grasp of ENGLISH grammar as well as Japanese structures; she obviously knows English better than 99% of Americans. Also, as an educator and school administrator I can say that she is a naturally gifted teacher, one who understands by instinct how to connect to a student and to convey information without a wasted word or vague example. I wish I could hire her for my school. Having observed hundreds of teachers in my career, I would identify this teacher as one of the elite ones, one of the most intelligent and talented you could find anywhere. I don't say things like this lightly. I'm just sort of stunned by how good she is.

I think one of the greatest ways of being an educator is conveying information in which a listener can understand.
It takes more than knowledge but teaching that knowledge in an easily digestible format.
She seems to have worked hard and also maybe be, as you've mentioned, is gifted in conveying that information towards English speaking with a quite clear intonation.
I remember in one of her videos, she practiced whenever her English speaking friends told her that some words she said sounded funny. So I think it's pretty great how far her labour and efforts have brought her and how comfortable she seems at teaching others. It's good work!
      Bless her!

I actually programmed my own vocabulary test system that splits the verbs into three sections randomly, their normal form (eg: taberu), their "masu" form and their "te" form. Thanks a lot for encouraging us and giving us those amazing explanations and examples, it made it a lot easier and much more reliable. All that's left now is to come up with as many sentences as possible where I can make use many different words and their respective masu/te forms to get used to them.

I've been studying Japanese for a month now and looking back, I was only able to say phrases that are only for short conversations. But Misa-sensei, thanks to you, I'm almost on my way to be fluent on my 5th language and it's all because of you. I've been watching these videos from time to time so that I could improve after watching one video. I still remember the time when I was happy due to the fact that I can point out things in Japanese. Now I've memorized 80 kanji, made 3 Japanese friends, and learning more words and improving my grammar thanks to you. Thank you very much Misa-sensei, you've made everyone watching your videos proud!

I'm a little late to the party, but still thanks for the very comprehensive summary of the -te forms. Your explanations are so clear, that I could decipher "愛してる" myself as being the shorter -te form of "愛している" coming from "愛する". Before it was just "I love you" can be said as aishiteru, just remember that brain, ok? Now it makes sense to me, why it means that (even if it is a little strong for Japanese ears). I'm always glad to be able to use grammar to lessen the load on my memory...otherwise I'd have to remember every single word and every combination. But now I just need a few rules and vocabulary.
Looking forward to your impressive catalogue of videos! Greetings from Germany!

Wow - is this Christmas? So many videos! Thanks, Misa.
One question though: having been to this online dictionary - www.japandict.com/ - to find the romaji spellings of the verbs, I have found that they give formal versions of the TE form. For instance, for the verb Matsu, they give Matte as the 'plain' form, and 'Machimashite' as the 'polite form'. Could you tell me if it is really necessary to also learn all these 'polite forms', or is it perfectly acceptable for everyday purposes to just stick to the plain form. Thanks!

I am learning so much so fast... 😊 I am studying almost 10 hours a day but I have a question regarding the writing... If I want to write a sentence, which script should I use? I already know the hiragana and katakana but do not know when to use which letters from each. I noticed that Japanese phrases and sentences mix them up... Can I use whichever I please? Thank you again 😊

    • @jeremyd2453
      @jeremyd2453 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

JurassicPatrick I know you probably already got an answer to that but just in case you didn't, in general you use hiragana. For words originating from countries apart from Japan or China, such as レストラン (restaurant) or names such as ジョン (John) you use katakana. Then there's kanji, the hardest part to learn in Japanese (to me) ;-; It's used when you have words originating from Chinese, including most nouns, verbs and adjectives.

Phew! Thank you so much for guiding us through those five lessons on 'te-form'! The only other irregular verb I am aware of is that 'desu' becomes simply 'de'. Hope this is useful for your future teaching.
