Horse Fly Trap / How Does It Work

  • Horse Fly Trap that really works. I've seen this horse fly trap all over the internet and I finally built one. I will finally prove if it works or is it a hoax. The design comes from Dan Owsley that built a horse fly trap in his back yard and I took on the challenge to confirm if it will work. This is a DIY Horse fly trap build. I have fought with horse flies for years and my animals continue to suffer from the biting horse flies.

No horses at my house here in Ireland, but lots of horseflys. I got bitten three times recently and I have a mild reaction so I'll be trying this out. Thanks 😎

It works for us. But I will say that it only caught about 20 a day on our back porch vs being by the pasture close to the animals. Good Luck and thanks for watching.

Don't know if it will work for horse flies, But "Listerine", Keeps mosquitoes away from horses, when sprayed on with just a hand spray bottle, also filling Shot glasses with Listerine and leaving them around your camp area or barbecue will keep mosquitoes away, it also works as a repellent when sprayed on people, it's sticky though

Kids giant kick ball from the Walmart bin, thick rope, and roofing tar. Cover the ball and rope around it in tar. Hang them around on shepherd’s hooks swaying around.
We live out on 9 acres, next to a cow pasture of our neighbors. When they rotate the cattle, it’s ABSOLUTELY miserable. We have a swimming pool and just abandoned it last summer after killing over 20 horseflies, wasps, etc.
have tried many traps and wasn’t happy. It was killing more honey bees than wasps and horseflies. Searching for a less smelly, and sticky method to the hanging balls. It does work though, for us at least.
