- This is a video walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of the NES game Snake's Revenge. This is the second Metal Gear game for the NES, though this one is not considered part of the official canon.
I'll admit that my tactic for the first boss wasn't all that great, as I get hit quite a few times, but at least I make it out alright. And I was a bit lucky with the tank I guess. There were a few times when I wasn't in a good spot and the thing blasted me... :(
I might have gone a bit gung-ho collecting some items, but you can never really have enough. Also, I know there were a few things I didn't use, but there wasn't really any need I suppose. - เกม

Thank you very much for this walkthrough. Last week I finally (after various years trying it on my NES) could beat the football players boss. I followed the steps you did and collected more of the same items I had, and a few than I lacked, then tried it again doing that evasive moves you did which I couldn't do before, and some tries later dominated the movement and beat them. I feel so happy that I can continue the game now. 😄
I remember playing through this game a few years ago and it BLEW MY MIND that at the end of the game when confronting Big Boss he says, "Now I want REVENGE"! Why did this blow my mind? Because Big Boss is also known as Snake! So the title... Metal Gear 2: Snake's Revenge... is BIG BOSS' REVENGE! I mean, what "revenge" is Solid seeking? It may not be "cannon", but it's still a great game.

I don't disagree. It still blew my mind (now all over again too) connecting the Snake of the title to the FORMER Snake (Naked) in Big Boss.
I'll also say that if Konami were to remake Snake's Revenge over the shoulder using the latest Fox Engine as a Nintendo Switch exclusive it'd be a buy for me. Day ONE!
I want to say my next "big" video will be a SNES game. Hopefully if I can get another good run in like I had a few times a bit ago, then it'll be up promptly. Though I want to do an easier game first, which will be yet another Sailor Moon game. I won't spoil what SNES game I have in mind, but I will say it's a Marvel game.

The challenge level goes up a lot just as soon as you find yourself in rooms with floor traps such as disappearing floor tiles that expand really wide and other types of traps that require carefully maneuvering around in order to succeed.

Ah yes... that one will truly be remembered as one of the great Metal Gear lines

WilHiteWarrior I’ve seen you on the site retro achievements, i guess i should have expected to find you here.
I know this game gets a lot of flak for being the black sheep of the metal gear games but to me it looks like a fun action/adventure styled game. I might have to try it out someday.

Well, there's quite a few Marvel games out there, and I plan to do quite a few still.
And no problem about the Actraiser games and Sparkster. They were quite fun.

@@SaikyoMog I found the answer; Snake will die when the time runs out, and the checkpoint as usual in this game is the elevator. (before big boss fight)

it's a good thing that kojima wasn't involved with this. with the iffy story i thought it wouldn't be his idea xD
In time. I'd love to get to those eventually, but RPGs do take a bit more effort compared to the other games I do...
