I allways clean or change the filter, and if there is no cab on the tractor I make one to avoid water running inside gear or rearbox, and for my own sake.

I would take a magnet and pull it around the bottom, just to make sure

Just had the top off my newly acquired FSM. Control quadrant jammed solid. Found no oil had sprayed the upper rods and oil was full of condensate. However mechanicals were perfect. Collet clips on hydraulic pipe , one on and one in the bottom of housing. So top had been off sometime. All o rings replaced and new oil, working as new. Dont know what the auxillary will lift though? Great tractor.

Thanks for watching the video, I’m not quite sure what the lifting capacity would be for the hydraulic lift arms, half a ton perhaps. We haven’t had anything attached to the Major yet apart from pulling a cattle feeder around the yard. We are planning to finish of the little Zetor in next month or so then sort the Fordson Major over the winter. Quite a novice with tractors so it’s a learning game for me.

We're rebuilding an ebro super 55 that I bought last september. This is the spanish version of the super major, no live PTO or diff lock sadly but the rest is same as fordson. Just rebuilt the draft control mechanism in the rear axel lid.... where's my plough?

First tractor on our farm was a fordson, colour scheme on this one is a bit odd, but nice 👍🏻

We don’t really know anything about them, it seems this one has had a few diy modifications in the past. Thanks for watching.

I think the blue / orange scheme was used on Fordson tractors built in England. Blue / white was used for US and other export areas.

The blue/white color scheme was used on the new performance series Super Major & Super Dexta until 1964 when Fordson production at dagenham stoppes and Ford production at basildon began. The new performance Super Major was badged as Ford 5000 Dieles in the US.@@LMBrown3900

Silly question, but is the PTO lever engaged? If it isn't engaged (shifted to the aft position) then the hydraulic pump isn't powered.
If it is engaged and you can hear it running, then you likely have a problem with the valves in the lift cover.
