They will only last 5 years ? I would expect they go on and on...im changing systems from my passive JBL mpro /yamaha crate mixer which I've been using since year 2000 ,literally, no problems
You made a great decision with the J8's. you will definitely get a good ROI on these speakers. I do not have a pair of the J8's but I do have a pair of the Evox 8's. I liked them so much that I purchased a pair of the Evox 5's which is it's little brother with a 10" sub and 5 2" speakers in the tops. I also purchased a 15" sub 705 asii that I haven't even had the opportunity to use it yet as the amount of bass that these speakers produce has been sufficient. I went from a pair of Bose Compacts that only had an 8" sub they are small but worked for us as a starter set then got passed down to my nephew. Have you had a chance to check out the new TT-515-a and the TT-808-as? I have not but I did see a video where the reviewer was completely surprise by the sound that these speakers put out. (EDIT) I had watched a video a few years back that the reviewer stated that he felt that if you run the speakers at about 3 O’clock you'll get the best output from them he was referring to the older Evox series. you might want to test it on yours.
These J8’s have been perfect for me so far 🙌🏽 I’m sure the evox 8s are even better & I went to the rcf demo room at dj expo and the TT 515 & 808s blew me away they sound super crisp, loud, & more compact than the J8’s & I have tried my speakers at 9 o clock but I do have mine slightly tilted to prevent microphone feedback
I honestly haven’t tried them outside yet but I’ll let you know I have an outdoor gig this Saturday but I personally feel like 75 ppl is what this is good for maybe 100 depending on the height of the ceilings
Honestly haven’t heard the Bose L1pro16 in person but I have heard good things, the J8’s can get about a foot taller if you’re playing somewhere with higher ceilings & you’d save about $700, so probably depends on if you’d rather spend more on a little bit better quality
hey man, great channel and videos! does evox j8 has enough low end as a 12 inch subwoofer? would you recommend them for house music and around 150 people? thank you!
Hey bro ! Thanks for watching ! I feel like these have great low ends, I played house music at a sweet 16 & it sounded great however the venue did have low ceilings & it was for about 80 people, so I feel like these can push for 100 people at most
@@koproductions8266 thanks for reply! i am interested in rcf column speakers and i think i would not go wrong with them cuz evox 12 way expensive and as i am mobile dj my event coverage is aroud 150 tops. thanks once again!
@@koproductions8266 Hello ... do you recommend the rcf evox jo for a band with 4 musicians? Is there a lot of sound? A good punch for rock, salsa, samba ....
@@RodrigoLemosnoral ohh okay ! Sorry about that, I personally haven’t but I hear ppl use these a lot during wedding ceremonies with live instruments so I would think so
I’m debating between the J8 vs a pair of the EV 12 inch subs. I currently have the EV 15 inch sub with my 12 tops, but looking for lighter weight and easy portability. The only thing is the J8 each weights 54 pounds vs one EV 12 inch sub which is 42 pounds. Also, do you think it’s a waste getting a pair of 12 inch subs as that will essentially be similar to my 15 inch sub? I’m getting older and more than likely either the J8 or 12 inch sub or subs will be my last purchase before I retire. Either way, I’m looking for a micro system that can handle up to 125 to 150 guests. Anything beyond that I would take my 15 inch sub.
All great questions & a lot to consider, if you’re going for portability and value then the J8’s will be your best friend however at 150 ppl these speakers would be pushed to its higher limits, I feel like these are more comfortable for around 100 ppl so your current system might be the best move for you since one 15 inch sub would probably be nearly the same as 2 12 inch subs, hopefully you can just continue to roll your 15 inch sub around on some wheels but it’s hard to tell if the J8’s are for you
Thank you for the insightful info. I didn’t think about the wheels on the 15 inch sub. I usually wear a back brace belt to help with lifting. I have been doing more events with less than 150, but would like to keep the sub for those just in case moments. The other option may be to just get a 12 inch sub for events up to 100. I know this sub won’t be chest thumping, just looking to add some bass and help my top cabs so they aren’t pushed that hard. Or I could get the pair of 12 inch subs and just sell the 15 inch. That way I have the versatility of one or two, depending on event and venue size. What do you think and what would you do in my situation? Thanks again!
@@LH-fh5kn yea I think if you can sell your 15 inch sub for 2 of the 12 inch subs that might be the way to go for versatility & even for those you can possibly roll them on some caster wheels to save your back as well
I can see what makes you think that, it’s just that overall it’s a more convenient setup since it’s easy to transport, breakdown, no cable management required and less weight to carry over your head
Thanks bro ! Love the easy setup/breakdown & transport, bass bumps, was enough for my bar gig although this bar had low ceilings but still loud enough nonetheless, very satisfied with this purchase 🙌🏽 only gripe is that I’m not too big on how they look but that may not be a big deal to most ppl
@@koproductions8266 I hear you. I think the customer will take the quality over how they look all day. At the point where looks matter, then it becomes the DJ's ego and that would be a mistake. You can have both however that might come at a much higher price point. Great job bro. 👍🏾
