so...a little info on how this anime was localized in the us,it was basicaly trashed,they changed a LOT of the themes and plot points,they changed a show with some very dark tones,to a typical braindead for kids american gag shitshow...i advise any1 who watched this in the english dub to check out the subbed version,its basicaly a different show
This is completely false. This is THE most faithful hackdub ever made. They replaced the music and toned done violence but they kept all and I mean all of the mature themes. They got rid of stranger danger moments and the taking a huge dump scene if you wanna get nitpicky but they kept the japanese ethnicity of the kids and the location, the biblical themes, the divorce themes, the idea that the digimon attacks were terrorist bombings, important deaths, the infamous slap fight, a lot of things actually. I'm tired of elitest weebs gatekeeping this show. The dub wasn't perfect and had many of the flaws of dubs at the time like cheesy in house music, but for what they accomplished, it's the gold standard of hack dubs with Tamers be the next best option.

@@deenman23 They replaced some jokes but outside of the movie, they didn't really remove most dark overtones, just quieted them a bit. They did make it less mature, but you're over-exaggerating the extent of it. And that's also the opinion of the people who have been releasing the show on blu ray and re-translating it for subs.
For me, its a mix and match of good and bad between which one is better when its Sub and Dub, which is why I watch both versions: Adventure 1 is good in Sub Adventure 2 is good in Sub and Dub (variations of moment) Tamers is good in both but better expression of the dark tone in Sub Frontier is better in Dub mainly cause the opening in Dub is way better than the Sub opening. Savers aka Data Squad in Dub (idk why they change the name when every other ones hasn't), this one is better in Sub (cause we got ZORO voicing Gaomon) After this.... All the Digimon was tbh.... HORRIBLE, dragged out, random, no effort to make the story good or deep or whatsoever. Digimon Adventure Tri and its movie (Sequel of Digimon Adventure 2) is by far the best: Dark, Nostalgic, animation like an adult anime, tearjerker... definitely in Sub. (Dub is fine too cause modern Dubbing doesn't do much of any scene changes anymore)
In Opening 5, that guy got Agumon by matching him blow for blow in hand to hand combat. Though it is a different Agumon. With flared nostrils. And training belts.

Say what!? How can you not like the English version. I like the Japanese openings too, but there is always one major issue with them… THEY TELL NOTHING ABOUT THE SHOW! Most of them are vague in Japanese. The English theme songs actually give plot details and fit the shows they are of.
You actually missed some. There was a 2nd opening to Universe Appmon, Tri (a sequel to the OG series), Adventure 2020 (a reboot of the OG series) & The last series came out 2 years ago (Ghost Game).
You did hit on something with the lead partners- its basically a tradition that the lead/ googlehead character gets a dragon buddy as their main partner. Add in Digimon's tendency to mix dragons and dinosaurs together with Agumon being the known mascot, it can feel like a lot of them are riffing off Agumon when they're just trying to be their own dragon.
if you think about watching one now watch Digimon tamers the 3rd one it has a great story and alot of character development you missed Digimon Ghost game the newest one and yes every season different arc, there is also a continuation of the first series and a remake called digimon 2020 (remake) and digimon tri is the sequel

I really like Butterfly (opening 01), but yeah, I'm with you - the shitty rap they made lives rent free in my brain forever. Season 3, Digimon Tamers, is my favourite. I was absolutely obsessed with it when I was young. Although, I never bothered checking out any of the later seasons, so... take that as you will. Adventure 01 and Adventure 02 are directly related (02 takes place a few years later, with the two youngest members of the original team joining a new team). From there on, none of the other seasons have anything to do with each other (beyond easter eggs and obscure crossover events) - they have completely separate human and digital worlds, and obviously completely different cast. (Until Adventure Tri, which came out a year or two ago, and is another sequel to 01 and 02. Its opening was not in this video.) Xross Wars is pronounced "Cross Wars". I don't get it either, Japanese is weird. The tamagotchi-like Digimon digi pets came out a year after the first Pokemon media (Pokémon Red and Blue in 1996) was released. However, Digimon at that time was a Tamgotchi competitor, not a Pokémon competitor. Pokémon had a card game a year before Digimon did, too. Pokémon had an anime (1997) (and therefore a franchise) before Digimon did (1999). In the end, quibbling over who copied who is probably a waste of time (anyone who's consumed media from either franchise knows they have completely different vibes), but Pokémon did come first.

I'd go so far as consider it my childhood anthem, especially since the passing of Koji Wada, one of the core pillars of digimon for so many years.
The only ones that are from the original time line are aventure and 02 but 02 occurs 3 years later and the original cast do a cameo helping the new cast
You gotta give it a rewatch in Japanese . As the ENG version was heavily censored 😢 to the point of removing the actual plot by cutting full episodes , so the story was more really child friendly . The original plot of Adventure deals with life problems that trouble each of the kids : parents divorce, sickness , forgiveness, finding out you are adopted , being ignored by family , depression and death These were all removed by 4kids 😭

Nostalgia is a powerful force, but I don't really think the English dub openings can hold a candle to the original Japanese openings. Important note though: The partner Digimon in the shows don't "belong" to anyone. The Chosen Children and their Digimon partners are friends on equal footing. And yes, "Evolution" is the original term. Dub changed it to "Digivolution" for some reason.
Digimon Adventure 02 (the second opening you saw) takes place a few years after the original. The two characters who were smaller kids in the original are still part of the main group with 3 new kids while the older ones have a secondary more mentor-like role. Every other series in the video is standalone. So yeah from op 3 onwards it's not only other characters but entirely different worlds. So no, Digimon Savers has nothing to do with Adventure. Not the same guy, not the same Digimon. It's the same species (Agumon) but with different evolutions. Savers was released after a few years' hiatus so they probably wanted a familiar monster to grab people's attention. Not the last time they'd do that. Digimon has always encouraged every anime, manga, game and so on to do its own thing, build its own world and rules in service of the story (or in case of videogames, gameplay) instead of trying to fit everything together, which leads to a lot of varied settings and concepts being used, for the most part. It's part of why I like the series so much. Adventure being the original anime (there are older manga and videogames, ADV is not the "original Digimon" so to speak) does get special attention, there are a few (movie) sequels not included in the video, featuring the characters from the first two series, but even those tend to focus on their own new elements and just connect them somewhat loosely to concepts from the previous Adventure series. The motto is still to do something new even in the familiar universe (which as you can imagine gets mixed reception from the fanbase). Also Savers and Xros Wars have more openings simply because they got released in the more modern era of anime where shows swap openings more often. The older series have just one opening for the entire 50 episodes run while from Savers onwards most Digimon series swap openings every 20 or 30 episodes (which is still less often than most anime out there which do it every 12 or so). Digimon Universe also has one more opening that is just missing from the video.

When grwoing up I alwats thought Digimon 1 and 2 are the best, but after growing up I really prefer digimon taimers or the 3rd season. It is dark and has a lot to say about tings like fate vs personal choice/free will as well as villains not being black and white. It is my favorite season for me. If you want to finish the story for the first 2 seasons you can actually see the original kids go from kids to teens, then college students and then adults.
every digimon show is a total different universe (except for 1 and 2), opening 5-6 are from the same show they just got 2 opening because duration, same with 7-8-9 (9 is a funny thing because it was a technically a filler arc but in the form of a full season with a change in protagonist), 10 is just the newest one at this time every season is unique, the reason they visit the digital world, what digimon are, etc, is almost always different every time, there is very little that stays constant between seasons, characters is not one of them (since its a different universe) there is three digimon "seasons" missing in the video: adventure 2020: remake of the original, 100% counts, original story and everything, is pretty much the concept of "what if digimon was made today (2020) instead of in 1999" so it has no real relationship with the original other than characters names and design appli monsters(2 op): is part of the franchise (so same multiverse) but there is no digimon in that one (except for 1 episode and it is pretty much filler) so it depends of the person if they count it as a "digimon" season, adventure tri: is a series of ovas so technicaly is not a "season", at least not any more than a movie would be, and its op is just the original one remixed, also some people of the community really hate the ovas (just because they think they are really bad, not for anything controversial) so not really worth it unless you are including "everything"
First of all, these are not like pokemon anime. We do not follow tai/taichi's story throughout every digimon shows just like how we follow ash's adventures in almost every pokemon anime, hence digimon series should not be called seasons as most of the series are their own stories.

Okay, so, anime wise. Digimon Adventure and 02 are in the same universe. 02 happening like 3 years after the first. All the others take place in their own universe. Savers just happened to have 2 seperate openings. Xros Wars, which you pronounced correctly also had 2 openings, and a sort season 6.5 after Xros Wars with its opening. And then Appli Mon exists. Another fun fact: Savers is called Data Squad in English and Xros Wars is called Fusion in the dub.

Nostalgia is a powerful force, but I don't really think the English dub openings can hold a candle to the original Japanese openings.
Important note though: The partner Digimon in the shows don't "belong" to anyone.
The Chosen Children and their Digimon partners are friends on equal footing.
And yes, "Evolution" is the original term. Dub changed it to "Digivolution" for some reason.

Digimon Adventure 02 (the second opening you saw) takes place a few years after the original. The two characters who were smaller kids in the original are still part of the main group with 3 new kids while the older ones have a secondary more mentor-like role.
Every other series in the video is standalone. So yeah from op 3 onwards it's not only other characters but entirely different worlds. So no, Digimon Savers has nothing to do with Adventure. Not the same guy, not the same Digimon. It's the same species (Agumon) but with different evolutions. Savers was released after a few years' hiatus so they probably wanted a familiar monster to grab people's attention. Not the last time they'd do that.
Digimon has always encouraged every anime, manga, game and so on to do its own thing, build its own world and rules in service of the story (or in case of videogames, gameplay) instead of trying to fit everything together, which leads to a lot of varied settings and concepts being used, for the most part. It's part of why I like the series so much.
Adventure being the original anime (there are older manga and videogames, ADV is not the "original Digimon" so to speak) does get special attention, there are a few (movie) sequels not included in the video, featuring the characters from the first two series, but even those tend to focus on their own new elements and just connect them somewhat loosely to concepts from the previous Adventure series. The motto is still to do something new even in the familiar universe (which as you can imagine gets mixed reception from the fanbase).
Also Savers and Xros Wars have more openings simply because they got released in the more modern era of anime where shows swap openings more often. The older series have just one opening for the entire 50 episodes run while from Savers onwards most Digimon series swap openings every 20 or 30 episodes (which is still less often than most anime out there which do it every 12 or so). Digimon Universe also has one more opening that is just missing from the video.

digimon 02 is a sequel to digimon adventure with all the kids grown up and in high school all digimon series are in a different universe

Memorable for westerns. I grew up on asia so i watched the digimon on japanese with just a piss color of fansubs but it was much better.
When grwoing up I alwats thought Digimon 1 and 2 are the best, but after growing up I really prefer digimon taimers or the 3rd season. It is dark and has a lot to say about tings like fate vs personal choice/free will as well as villains not being black and white. It is my favorite season for me. If you want to finish the story for the first 2 seasons you can actually see the original kids go from kids to teens, then college students and then adults.

every digimon show is a total different universe (except for 1 and 2), opening 5-6 are from the same show they just got 2 opening because duration, same with 7-8-9 (9 is a funny thing because it was a technically a filler arc but in the form of a full season with a change in protagonist), 10 is just the newest one at this time
every season is unique, the reason they visit the digital world, what digimon are, etc, is almost always different every time, there is very little that stays constant between seasons, characters is not one of them (since its a different universe)
there is three digimon "seasons" missing in the video:
adventure 2020: remake of the original, 100% counts, original story and everything, is pretty much the concept of "what if digimon was made today (2020) instead of in 1999" so it has no real relationship with the original other than characters names and design
appli monsters(2 op): is part of the franchise (so same multiverse) but there is no digimon in that one (except for 1 episode and it is pretty much filler) so it depends of the person if they count it as a "digimon" season,
adventure tri: is a series of ovas so technicaly is not a "season", at least not any more than a movie would be, and its op is just the original one remixed, also some people of the community really hate the ovas (just because they think they are really bad, not for anything controversial) so not really worth it unless you are including "everything"

First of all, these are not like pokemon anime. We do not follow tai/taichi's story throughout every digimon shows just like how we follow ash's adventures in almost every pokemon anime, hence digimon series should not be called seasons as most of the series are their own stories.
I heard the American season 1 Digimon song first. It was a bad example of replacement music. The America Digimon Frontier song was much better. I like the Japanese songs from Digimon Tamers the most.
My fav was of course the 1st season, but I like a lot Digimon Tamers and Digimon Aplli Monsters.

Here in my country, at first, the music was shown in Japanese, but when it went to another channel, they decided to use American music but in our language and it was horrible, which is why I think the American Ops are terrible.

Okay, so, anime wise. Digimon Adventure and 02 are in the same universe. 02 happening like 3 years after the first.
All the others take place in their own universe. Savers just happened to have 2 seperate openings. Xros Wars, which you pronounced correctly also had 2 openings, and a sort season 6.5 after Xros Wars with its opening.
And then Appli Mon exists.
Another fun fact: Savers is called Data Squad in English and Xros Wars is called Fusion in the dub.
