I have a Black '76 Malibu that I own now.
It had the stock 305 engine in it, but it now has a 1994 TBI 454 with the first gen electronic overdrive transmission (electronic 700R4)
It's a one wheel wonder and the old 305 could never break the tires loose, but the 454 does now with ease.
I've had both tires light up at one point with the 454, but mostly just a one wheel spin for now.

Too bad your not out here in the Southwest and West, We have a Classic Racecar class called "Smoggers" which are 73-79 full/ compact American cars, basically what was called "Bombers" in the 80's and 90's but it's on paved tracks instead of dirt, They run on mostly the smaller tracks like Lake Havasu and Tucson raceways but they run on the Vegas, Phoenix and Pamona tracks too, I believe they run on the road courses in Albuquerque, Reno and Henderson

I'm in western mass right by Springfield. I've unfortunately sold the car but the new owner is restoring it! Kept the engine....

Thanks for the heads up! It could probably use a little tinkering
