    ***** This car popped another fuel pressure regulator, we found a metered orifice with a tiny .100 in. hole in the tank sending unit that was restricting the fuel return flow.******

    I found a 77 malibu classic, it’s got the original GT wheels and a blue paint job and blue interior with bucket seats. it’s a vinyl top as well.

    Have a 1976 Malibu Classic coupe that we removed from an outbuilding on my uncle's farm when he passed. We never knew he had the car because he had become such a private person. It had a 1987 tag and only 70,000 miles showing. Apparently that was when he parked it there. Took to my brother in laws shop and got it running. Surprisingly it cranked without any issue after flushing gas tank and changing oil. It has surface rust on the horizontal body parts from not being cleaned for so long. Body is very solid otherwise. Landou roof vinyl had deteriorated and ripped. Interior is in really good shape and has swivel bucket seats and console. Just wondering if that model Chevelle would be worth it as a project. Best thing is the body not having serious rust issues which is uncommon for a car of that age.

    Nice to get some info needed. Have an LM7 5.3 in my 76 now with a 4L80E. Drive shaft in, Eaton Posi in the 8.5 corporate rear end, slotted disks, 2in lowering coils n shocks, Boyd Speedster wheels, shovel Laguna nose, GT45 turbo used flipped chopped exhaust manifolds 4" to 3.5 downpipe 41? Flowmaster muffler to Nascar style "Boom Tube", 13"x30" intercooler and 3" pipe ran, aluminum 3 row radiator. Got the shallow muscle car oil pan. Mounted the battery in back pass side on plate bolted in. Got larger pump for 2001 silverado fuel pump assembly in original style tank. 2001 Silverado steering column. Stripped the frame to the firewall and rebuilt/ repainted it. Still have wiring all over. Rebuilt the 5.3 harness adding speed sensor for 4L80E and have not programmed the original computer. Other than what you have on the videos can you think of anything else I should look out for or maybe something you may have done differently?

    Perfect old project cars to drop an LS in. Not a reason in the world to keep this one original don't think I've ever seen one of these with the six-cylinder in it plus it lacking any options.

    He I just found your channel an I LOVE Malibu, you did a great job. I have a 1974 El Camino and want to do the same thing just with a 4l60e trans. My question to you is , do you have a parts list on the engine and everything you did to get it done? I will have to look at the rest of your videos also, I just wanted to tell you Thank you and keep up the great work. You have fans that look forward to your videos 👍... What did you do as far as pinion and tranny angles? Ive been fighting my cutlass .

    • @HsPerformanceWi
      @HsPerformanceWi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trans stayed in stock location, the engine mounts ended up putting crank centerline back where it was as well. I measured from the top of the bell housing to a reference point on the firewall before pulling the 250 and the measurement/driveline angles didn't change with the LS.

    • @comalgera
      @comalgera 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HsPerformanceWi i mqde my own frame mounts, at firat i installed with original 350 frame mounts and engine didnt come close to the 350 location. Im guessing i should of just relocated them. Ended up missplacing them. Is there any way you might be able to get me the angles. Right now my tranny is pointing down from front to back and diff is pointing up from front to back

    • @HsPerformanceWi
      @HsPerformanceWi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@comalgera sorry, cant help you. The car is long gone the owner has been driving the wheels off of it. The best advise I can give you is to measure pinion angle at ride height and raise/lower the tail shaft to match. If there is not enough spline engagement on the yoke you will also pick up some bad vibes, the driveshaft does a "jump rope" effect. Hope some of this helps!

      Yeah they would if you had something with some balls in front of it the turbo 400s were even better just leave them in second not shift it manually and stand on that pedal in an old grand Prix or something w a 400 or 455 init and they used to grab a mean second gear rubber four feet long sometimes lol
