    What area of your neckline do you want to see look better?

    Very informative video, thank you! Would you say there is an age limit for this procedure? I am almost 50 with very good skin, but I'm worried about skin laxity if I take away some of the submental fat. Are there any treatments you'd recommend after lipo to firm up that skin?

    This was informative, I do have a question though. I keep hearing how removing fat from jowls isn’t the best idea due to sagging of the skin. It only looks great for a short amount of time. I know it also depends on the laxity of people’s skin

    • @ThePlasticLife
      @ThePlasticLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats true, especially if you are older like in your 40's or 50's. Although the scarring that liposuction will create under the skin actually will do some tightening so that can aid in supporting the tissue in that area. I usually reserve lipo of the jowels for my younger patients because they still have that great elasticity of the skin that can help get great results.

    Hi. I went to a surgeon to ask him to liposuccion my fat jowls, he answered me he can not do it because there is a nerve and if I liposuccion fat here, I can damage the nerve and you won't be able to smile correctly, some facial paralysis.
    So I should be interested to know about the liposuccion you propose.
    Thank you.

      Thats a great question! To liposuction the jowels you have to use special cannulas and special techniques to do that. Using a standard basket cannula will certainly result in nerve injuries in that region. But with special cannulas, being gentle and using different techniques it is possible to get into the jowels and remove some fat. You aren’t removing a lot from that area. But yes, injuring the nerve in that area is a risk.

      Not really. He's addressing his own fatty chin because he knows the viewers will zone in on it and question him. But he may personally not be interested in doing anything about it. It's like Dr Joe Niamtu who often jokes about his own saggy face, yet performs great facelifts.
      One can be dedicated to a cause without being a target of it. Also, remember that doctors can't perform surgery on themselves, and often, the only talent they trust is themselves. And finally, they usually have a great life and a nice wife, so no real reason to get procedures themselves.

    • @ThePlasticLife
      @ThePlasticLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! I would say if you are going to do a second round you should wait 6 to 8 months before looking into any revisions. That way all of the swelling has resolved and you’ll have a better idea of what your results are from the first procedure.

    • @onichez9371

    Does under the chin lipo leave you with sagging skin like a turkey if you’re over 50? I’m only 120 pounds but have submantal fat and some jowls starting to form but I’m afraid of skin laxity if I remove that fat layer.

    • @ThePlasticLife
      @ThePlasticLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I usually recommend to my patients over 40 that they will need some form skin tightening after a chin lipo case wether its J plasma or face tite due to the risk of skin laxity. Over 50 i usually recommend a neck lift as the elasticity of the skin in the neck is hit or miss. The neck lift ensures that we don’t have a turkey neck after chin lipo.

  • @KO-pd7fm
    @KO-pd7fm ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Can you add the fat back to your chin after too much was removed? This caused my skin to thin out and platysma bands to be exposed which ages me 10+ years when I’m only 25

    • @ThePlasticLife
      @ThePlasticLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its possible to do fat grafting to the neck after chin lipo. But if your platysmal bands are separated you may want to see your surgeon to see what can be done with things like botox to the bands or even possibly a platysmaplasty, which may improve the look of the jawline even further.

    Doctor, Chin lipo and neck lipo is same
    procedure or different?

    • @ThePlasticLife
      @ThePlasticLife  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question! The chin lipo refers to the area right under the chin, the neck part more refers to the sides of the neck under the jawline back towards the ear. And absolutely, both can be done in the same procedure. In fact, I would recommend it for most patients!

    Can this be done in the cheek rather than buccal removal

    • @ThePlasticLife
      @ThePlasticLife  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fat removal anywhere is technically possible. But there can be increased risks. Fat removal in the cheeks with lipo is not a procedure I do. I tend to look at the fat in the cheeks as one that will help maintain a youthful look for a longer period of time as you age.

    Is it quite common to get enlarged lymph nodes in the neck post chin lipo? I've read some people get that? Is that because the body is fighting inflammation?

    • @ThePlasticLife
      @ThePlasticLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a great question. While I have not had any of my patients have enlarged lymph nodes post op it is possible to happen. And I would agree that it is likely due to the surrounding inflammation from the procedure itself.

      About 7 to 10 days of wearing a compression wrap on your head night and day and then about 7 days at night only. Usually patients are back in the gym and regular activities by week three. Full results are seen at 6 months after surgery
