I love that you have such a positive impression of the new Luna, after all, if there's anyone who's had the original with her for a long time and cherished it, it's you!. After so much recent corporate drama, it warms my heart to see the changes FINIS has decided to implement to enhance the product for their community. In general it can be difficult to find shoes we like in our size so it's a relief to see that they take that into account for those with larger feet, not just the fit but the comfort. I too will miss the colours and the floppiness! I hope they give some throwback to their characteristic blue and green in the future. 💚💙 Thank you very much for another nice informative video!! I'm happy that you can add more to the FINIS collection yay 🎉
This is super exciting! I love my luna for its floppines despite my straps breaking and its awesome to ses the 2.0 version that somehow doesn't have the discomfort that other rubber fins do!
So exciting, finally a new monofin! I hope they bring it to the European shop soon, I´d looooove to try it out as I really like the aesthetic of the Luna while I´m a fan of good propulsion
Great review courtney! I managed to test it out in open ocean last week and i can feel it gave better propulsion compared to the original Luna.. And it works good with tail skin too!
Oh man, I am now beyond excited to get one of these!! Thank you for such a fintastic review! I'm also such a big Luna fan, and the silicone will always have a special place for me (was a gift from my boyfriend). I am super keen to try this new one! The different rubber in the different places of the fin is so cool!! I'm also so stoked to see how they have taken feedback and made the Luna more durable! Here's to hoping more merfolk will get to enjoy this fin and it'll last them a loooong time!! And I also have tall bones on the top of my feet, so I usually get a bit sore after a long swim - so seeing that its a bit better makes me even more excited!
Im so excited you did this! I love my luna fin so much too that I had 2 because of the rips but just recently lost one off the back of my boat and was heart broken. Ordering this new one this week!! Eeeee so excited to get it 😁🧜🏻♀️
Thank you for this! I knew I was going to be getting either this or the linden, and I had been waiting and hoping and looking for someone to review this. I'm not even sure I'm ready to swim with it yet, but I went ahead and bought it. When I saw this video I was hoping you were going to post an affiliate link and my jaw about hit the floor when you announced the code. Plus, I think it's cool that it helps the channel- somehow that makes this fin more special. I can't wait to start training with it! 😊🧜♀💜
Yes I have to say that they have made a Huge improvement... Sturdier more durable overall material - the high quality rubber that it is made of, the sturdier harder knob for the straps, the straps also maybe(probably),it seems like it's gonna be much more durable than the original in general, my only downpoint is I wish they'd made it in plain colour without the white stripes across like Courtney said as I too prefer plain coloured monofins, but overall what an improvement!!!... Yes Thank you so much finis team for the upgrade of the fin(it clearly showed you are in tune and attentive to your customers) Gr8 job guys , may your company grow and evolve a million times more🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 6:41
Ooooo maybe the ultimate Luna??? I was another fish whose silicone Luna disintegrated after only a handful of swims. Broke my heart; I loved that fin. Looking forward to using a more-durable version!
My luna tore a bit and I was gentle with it. I was gentle enough to swim for almost a year without the tear getting bigger (it's hard to get your hands on silpoxy in my country and I really didn't want to use any silicone glue). I am happy the new one is sturdier for them fishies. Personally I don't like the painter stripes, not my jam at all, because I like my fins to look... I know it's gonna sound silly... natural XD If the stripes were more like stripes on a fish I think I'd prefer it. But for those who love it - I'm happy for you. An I have my silicone luna, so I don't plan to buy the eclipse anytime soon anyway :) Thanks for the review!
Thank you so much for making this review!! I first started mermaiding this summer with a finfun amp, and I fell in love with everything about this hobby. I've been looking at getting an upgrade fin for my birthday soon, and ive had my eye on the Eclipse for a while, but I hadn't seen many reviews out there. Thank you again for all your amazing videos that helped inspire me to go out and go swimming, as a fellow autistic you inspire me ^^
I am always weary with trying different monofins. Once I got the lucia fish fin, I haven't tried anything else, I have weird shaped feet. I have a very high arch, super small, and pointed feet. Maybe when I have a good inflow of money I may venture out again, and try some others. It looks good though, maybe one day ill try it out.
Curious if it is faster then the original luna? I don't have the foot issues you do so the mahina has always been my go to for ocean swimming as it is the fastest 'pretty' fin I have tried. But would love a more comfortable fin if it was fast enough.
I'm pleased to see that they made an improvement to the material of the fin. I was unlucky to have mine brake after just the second use, and then after getting a replacement, I had that one brake on me only after the 3-4 use.. Which was sad because the few times I swam with the luna, I loved everything about it!😍 I'm currently the owner of a mermaid linden insted, but if I ever get a second fin, I'll definitely give Finis a second chance with this one😁💙
So excited. Ordered mine. Hoping it gets here before my first mermaid swim at a spring this weekend! (If not I’ve got my old trusty original Luna) Also, thanks for the discount code on both.
My first monofin was a Finis Rapid and to this day it is still my best monofin (not the most comfortable though). It isn't the prettiest one I have, but one day I realized that my deepest most impressive dives have been while I was wearing my Rapid. I can do just 3 kicks and I'm super deep down. A design flaw of the Rapid is after a while the tension of the plastic blade causes the foot pockets to curve inward. I usually help lessen this issue by keeping the plastic foot forms the monofin came with in the foot pockets at all times to help keep it stretched out. It isn't as comfortable as it used to be though because of this issue. I also have a Mahina, an adult Linden, and the Mermaid Lucia Fish Fin. I love my mermaidy monofins but I wish they had better power for me to dive deep like I can with the Rapid. I get mermaiding is more about the asthetics then deep diving but I want something that combines a freediving fin with a mermaid flue shape without sacrificing power. I don't want to get into collecting too many monofins but I have always been tempted to get a Luna. I already have enough trouble deciding what monofin to bring with me for swims!
So happy to see this video popping up in my feed. I must say you've helped me a lot @CourtneyMermaid and your videos are always so helpful ! when in doubt, I check your channel :D I'm seriously considering getting one : i'm convinced ! I have a question for you and other merfolks though : do you think it could fit in a Mertailor Fantasea tail ? Thank you in advance ( for whoever gets to answer by the way ) ?
I wonder if silicone quality and/or availability was inconsistent between batches or something, because I've had my silicone luna for years and It's also holding up wonderfully. The only thing that's ever broken on ANY of my monofins was one of the rubber bits between the ankles of my linden even though I don't use it nearly as often as my luna.
An excellent consideration! I hadn’t thought of that. Honestly it has always surprised me how many people have had an issue with the silicone version because I feel like I’ve been tough on mine and it still looks as good as the day I bought it! 😅
Someday I’d like to join a mermaid club, do occasional gigs and just have fun.💖✨🧜♀️ I don’t think that’s ever going to happen, though. Thanks for all you do!💗💐
What is the width and length of the fin. I am trying to see if it will fit in my silicone tail. My hydra is not my favorite fin so i want to change it up.
I ordered mine but because sadly, I'm basically an 11.5 US women's, it hurts me when I wear it. I can put up with it for a bit, but it leaves marks on my feet and hurts after a while. I wish they'd do a large size of this in addition, like the Shooter does. So many mermaid fins basically do not fit me.

Thank you so much for the review! Definitely gonna use that code when I can afford a new fin 💙
Thank you! I’m glad you found the review helpful! I’m trying to decide what kind of a skin I want to make for it now! So many options!
@@CourtneyMermaid So exciting!!!!!
I came straight here because I knew you'd have a review video! I've been waiting for this Luna replacement for aggggeees!
Thank you, Courtney! Great review!

😂 glad I'm not the only one who had the buckles rip; I got two, TWO swims out of mine before one of the buckles ripped.
I’m so sad I can’t find anywhere in australia stocking the eclipse 😭 I do still love my OG luna, but I would love to try the new one!

Thanks so much for the review, Courtney! I've been looking forward to it all week
My luna did not come with a smell, however my friend's luna came with a weird coating (not sure if it smelled)
Ooo! New fin! I was just about to go to bed for the night and... Couldn't resist not seeing it! Is it really made of rubber?
It sure is! A very smooth and sturdy feeling. Similar but not quite the same as the Mahina I have.
I am FROTHING! I need this!
Hey is this available in Australia?😅 I have been trying to find one like a Monofin from aus
I HOPE THIS GETS TO EUROPE BECAUSE ITS SO SO CHEAP AND BEAUTIFUL
Is this monofin bigginer-friendly?😁
💛💛
Don't know if I'll get the Eclipse. But I do know I am getting some of your leggings and sweaters 🧜🏼♀️💙
Aww thank you! ❤
Rubber?? So it's not latex free??? 😢 It's so pretty tho! I really wanted it.
Courtney are you a moraih Elizabeth fan because she always says painterly
I’m sorry, I’m not familiar with that name. I went to school for animation and design so I think that’s where that comes from.
I'm a little sad to lose another silicone option, being allergic to latex. Ah well, otherwise it looks brilliant!
This fin is latex free! It’s says so on the box. Maybe it’ll still be an option for you!
Today I watched The mermaid movie by chance I found mermaid on TH-cam 😅
