I couldn't help hearing you called yourself weird... But I can tell you with great confidence that being weird is fine. There is no normal in this world, there is no regular in this world. You are allowed to be yourself in the way you are. And the people who watch you strangely should really start to learn that life isn't as easy for everyone. SO BE YOUR UNIQUE SELF. We love you Courtney, every single little thing of you and especially your weird sides.
5:50 That's amazing that your optometrist offered that! My chiropractor's receptionist pulls the blinds and lowers the lights for me before I enter the exam room. Every time, just because they noticed I did it once a long time ago while waiting. 🥰♾️
Thank you for giving us a glimpse of your fun event! And this video serves as such an important reminder that mermaiding does not have to be about getting the whole get up on! I think social media can partially skew our view of mermaiding, but in reality the focus on joy and love of mermaids is all thats important. Tail-less mermaids are real mermaids! Also the fin skin matching set you were wearing did look incredible. Nothin like a matchy matchy mer!
15:30 "I don't like to go out because I can't edit myself." You deserve to take up space and be yourself. I'm excited that you had fun at the meet up and you're discovering ways to make prep and clean up easier. 🥰🧜♀️🧜♀️🧜♀️♾️❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🌈 Your new puppy is amazing 😍.
Great video as always! Just seeing you and others get to the pool is really helping motivate me to get my tail out and swim. It has been far too long. On a seemingly random note, I related so much to the sentiment on repetition in videos at 2:40. Apologies, this is apparently a whole story (which you can feel free to skip). During the height of the pandemic, my work went completely virtual, and we posted monthly videos of the data collected passively by the observatory I work at. I'm every video I had to explain the same set of things. Despite how that could get a bit frustrating, our patrons enjoyed the videos, and I still enjoyed making them. Anyway, thank you again for the video and for bringing to mind some memories. :)
Have you looked up Lunarpooch products ? They have light reflective dog coats, collars etc. And matching reflective stuff for the humans too. I noticed the added collar you had for Gru for night walkies 🥰
The amount of mood in this video thoooooo I need to get the new Finis monofin too, how did that work with the Finskin? And no yeah Faith is flipping FINTASTIC! I always love watching their videos and seeing them chatting in the Pod when they can!
You are cool I freak out if I met you your the first person I saw that I clicked with in general you showed me faith and Zelda and it’s all connected me to other people I love this community and I loved seeing you swim
It was so nice to meet you, and thank you again for getting some gopro footage for me!! You’ve inspired me to mermaid-ify my goggles for the next meetup 🤩
It was amazing to finally meet you in person Courtney! 💖 honestly you and faith both got me into embracing the inner mermaid in me. I love equally how much you both bring to the mermaid community
Hey Courtney it's Crystal mermaid. First of all your dog is sooo cute and second of all you are soo lucky to have so many mermaid friends who support you and that you can have fun with because I only have one mermaid friend and she lives far away so I can only see her a few times a year and most people think I am weird because I do mermaiding and I don't have any friends. I wish that I could buy one of your tails but I can't because my dad doesn't want me to get more. But I wish I could have a mer friend like you.
Oh Courtney!! It's so, so good to see you in the water again having fun! So happy for you! Thank you for sharing this day with us all, I think you are absolutely brilliant. Keep speaking your truth and your expressing your tisms! There is no pressure to create videos but just sharing that I've always loved and miss watching your mermaid adventure videos, and being exactly as you are in the moment. It inspires me to go get out and do the same. Thank you again for filming this! And YES to the easier mermaid attire! Keep being you. Also, I totally laughed and appreciated the slow mo jump up the stairs haha! xxxx
So glad you had fun at the meetup! You briefly mentioned having Eric film for you, and I would LOVE if you could do a video in collab with Eric going over what it is like being married to a mermaid and what he does during a mermaid meetup. A lot of merfolk have amazing merwranglers behind them, and I'd like to know more about the merwrangler side of things and how they have fun at events even if they aren't merfolk themselves. My husband has always struggled with me being into mermaiding. He thinks it is weird and slightly cringe. He doesn't like the attention it brings. He is self concious about his body image and he doesn't like how me being a mermaid attracts extra attention from strangers that he would rather not be paying us attention. He said he doesn't like seeing other guys staring at me "when I'm half naked" but I told him I'm more covered then most girls swimming since I have a full tail on. I also have very small boobs so it isn't like I'm spilling cleavage lol. He also says that when I'm mermaiding I zoom off swimming and he's left just there on his own - which I totally get. I kinda go off in my own world. My problem is I'm introverted but when I'm a mermaid I become extroverted and I love answering people's questions about mermaiding and saying hi to kids. I'm not actively going out of my way for attention, but I'm less shy. He doesn't like being around the crowds that are usually at the swimming spots I go to. He doesn't want me to go without him, but he doesn't like going so it is always a challenge to get a group of friends together to go just so I can mermaid and he won't be grumpy. Anyways, I'm always curious about how other mers significant others deal with it. PS - You did a great job cutting your dog's hair! My parents have always owned dogs that don't shed so I understand how hard it can be shaving them! We attempted it a few times and gave up lol.
Yaaay, mermaid content is baaack 🤩 I personnally LOVE the feeling of the tail, but if you feel more comfortable in leggings, that's just as valid and cool ! Don't let this stop you from enjoying your mermaid life, both on events and here on social medias ! I NEVER use wigs, or even jewelery when I swim, sometimes I put on a little bit of make-up because I love how it makes my tail pop (I have a dark burgundy tail, so dark lipstick and some eyeliner really does the trick !), but it depends on my mood, I usually swim in my sports bra and my tail and that's it ! Do whatever feels comfortable to you, that's what really matters 💙 Also, as an autistic mer' myself, one thing that helps me dealing with social anxiety is to think that we're all swimming, we all have water in our eyes, nose, ears, we are underwater not breathing when we swim, ... So we all make some weird faces because of all of this, therefore if my face isn't masking properly I can just blame the water for it 😂 About your sight, autism can have some impact and it's a great thing that your eye doctor knows about it ! I personnally struggle with this, because the tests are mostly on projector screens, but the light are just too bright for my brain to process the information, so I see blurry no matter what 😂 the optician never understood this no matter how I explained it, so I have a prescription that might not be accurate because of how the tests went ...
Yes please, bring back fin skins! I have the new Luna Eclipse too and enjoy it so much. I Loved seeing you getting back out there and having a good time. Swimming is huge for helping anxiety and relaxation. I wish we had some kind of group near St. Louis🤗❤️ Lol I can’t get anyone else to join me 😂
I don’t know if you’ll see this since this is a little bit of an older video now but I think it would be so cool seeing you make a fin skin + leggings/combo of chester for yourself! I like seeing how your signature tail has evolved as you’ve grown and changed over time ☺️ it would be like a Chester 3.0 for this new direction in life for yourself!
If u ever decide to bring the fin skin back, i would love to get one! It looks amazing and just seems so much simpler than a whole tail skin. Like still mermaidy but way less “work” for it😂 Love ur videos btw!🤗❤️❤️
It was nice seeing you at a swim meet again! Also you’re more than welcomed to use my face unblurred to show off your fintastic tails and creations lmao😂 Probs save you some editing time too💚💙
Holy smokes! I'm so happy that you found someone who wants to be able to give accommodations. I have family and co-workers who intentionally make it worse because they think it's funny to see my reaction 😡
Exotropia and autism is “awesome”. Just one more thing that makes eye contact more difficult. Having a great eye doctor makes the visit a lot easier so I’m glad yours is That swing is so cool. The only issue is how to clean it since I have severe dust allergies Annoying is cool. Your husband seems to inspire you and help you be your best
was this the solstice swim?! i really wanted to go but it was too far away and i couldn’t afford it, But hopefully i can go to the next meetup when i get enough money for my monofin!
Are flukes really necessary? I've seen people swim without them, and I was just wondering if they were really needed, or if it "works better" with flukes....
@@AragornElessar Thank you. I was referring to monofins. I do have ideas in regards to costumes ( for which I will need expert opinions on ) but I also had(have) questions about "modes of propulsion"
Hi, Chris Avery 3289, the fluke of a mermaid tail is actually the flipper part of the tail skin that the monofin goes into. The tail skin is just for fun, but the monofin is definitely for safety, because when your legs are bound, you need something to propel you in the water.
@@crystala5033 I've got that bit down, I was just wondering if the fluke is really needed for propulsion, or if it is "extra", as I've seen people do just fine without one...
@@chrisavery3289 It is unsafe to swim in a full tail without a monofin, as you are unable to get a lot a propulsion from bound legs, also the fluke of the tail without a monofin inside creates large amounts of drag. Always always always use a monofin in a tail!
I see your videos on Reels, and I think their stolen and reposted for people to mock you. I seen Mermaid Serenity's videos too and I think that too is stolen, and Magic Crafter's videos are stolen reposted for people for people to bully.
Unfortunately it happens a lot. I try to stay on top of reporting them but I get a lot of them each month. I have thousands I still need to go through. It feels pretty hopeless and sad that other people are making money off my hard work and then mocking me for what I do. Ah well. It's not going to stop me!

the pups talking is just so cute.
This was wonderful and it is inspiring to see you swimming happily. Thanks for being our friend even though you don’t know us the same way.
These look so fun :( im completely landlocked and would LOVE to to go and swim with everyone omggg 😫

Mermaid accomodations. ❤
I wonder if my niece is still into the mermaid stuff. I have always wanted to try it, too.
