Hello. Thanks for the video. Not many houses have a lift. The 2015 Civic is low to the ground. if you are using a ramp, it might not fit and you'll end up damaging your bumper at the fog light access panel when you run your car up. You'll have to jack the front end up, Note the arrow looking down from the engine compartment side. That is your jack point. Align your jack pad so that its center with this arrow and jack your car up to the point where your ramps will clear bumper. Then run it up the rest of the way. The rest of the oil change work is per the video.
Thanks for the upload on this ! This was a great demonstration, easy walk through on how to do it. I've never done a oil change and this video I recommend for anyone who needs to learn
Thank you for the kind words, Im so glad I could help!!!!
This is a great video and helped me out when i did a first time oil change on my 'new to me' 2015 Honda Civic. The only addition I would make is my model had 4 Phillips screws holding on the engine cover/skid plate. Thanks for the help!!!
Awesome thank you very much!!!!
Recently got a Honda not long ago. Thanks this video is awesome super helpful about to do my oil own oil change. Was wondering how much was that big ole jack you’re using? I’m planning to get into mechanical school and one of these would be helpful
Awesome thanks for watching, I think that jack was like 180.00 from northern tool, its a 3.5 ton I think and also it sets lower. I have alot of low cars and it works well. Also harborfreight has some good dayton ones also. Good luck on your education, never stop learning!!!
You’re amazing
Thank you and thanks for watching!!!!
you can use a hammer and a small punch or even a nail to pierce the old filter and drain it first before you take it off so you don't make such a mess
Awesome thanks for the tip!!!!
There is a nail in that tire on the front drivers side, 9:25 right in the middle of the tread on the tire!
Thank you, we had new tires put on nkt long after that video.
@@ACDesignsGarage as soon as I commented I noticed the video was a bit old, but hey your video helped me out on my Honda, someone left the metal skid plate off my car so I was making sure why mine looked a little different at first glance. :)
@@Mr.BC777 glad that video helped you, thanks for lookin out for me on the nail, we all gotta help each other out!!!!!! And thanks for the comment!!!
How do you know it’s not a rock?
What kind of oil is that, never heard that number. Number without brand is wild
It's Castrol edge 0w20 synthetic
I put 4 quarts of oil in mine and it registered to be a quart low. I put another quart in and it registered full (and not over full). 2015 Honda Civic.
Any thoughts as to why it’s not 3.9 ?
Wow not sure. Does yours call for 3.9
How do you put the skid plate back on bruh?
It has 4 little barbs that you push up and slide the skid plate back then you put the bolts back in. Make sure you have all the barbs lined up in the slots or it will hang down!
@@ACDesignsGarage Thanks! I was wondering why it wouldn't fit.
What oil can I use in 127 thousand miles?
I still use what the factory called for. I use 0w20 Castrol edge
Okay am mad they wanna charge me 80 for a oil change so am here to learn what can I use to lift my car anyone thank you guys
As long as you have jack and jack stands you're good! If the dealer is really charging that much then you could have also gone to independent shop. I used to do my own oil changes when I was younger and had time, but nowadays i go to my local shop and they do it for $45
Wait till you try to buy parts for it, especially anything SRS!
She'll probably go for sale then lol
how to reset the oil life in honda civic 2015? it is showing me Service due soon A1 message.
Yes if it comes up A1 its just a service reminder to change oil and rotate your tires.
@@ACDesignsGarage is there a way to make the message disappear?
Ur phil cap lol
