CIS10: Eugenics, Designer Babies, and CRISPR cas9

A brief overview of the history of Eugenics followed by an explanation of several biotech tools that could lead to "designer babies" being produced--including: preimplantation genetic diagnosis, transgene transfer, and CRISPR-cas9. There is also a reflection on several of the ethical implications involved in these tools.

"diversity is good for our species" - FUNCTIONAL diversity is good for our species. Diversity that reduces the fitness of the species is not. I hope people are not making the mistake of thinking that all diversity is good regardless of the consequences!

we have problems in food, beacause we play god thinking we make things better. Not realizing... we didn't have all information and ended with also negatieve results. Just stay humble ... and do not think we can fix all things. If you are not able to stop you from ALL mistakes, what makes you think you are able to make the right fix... pride, becomes before the fall / destruction
