    Wonderful and informative video! It's great to see the genetic angle. I think the discussion of gender identity can be fleshed out quite a bit with findings from developmental psychology, ethology, and social learning. De Waal has hinted at this recently. If children are innately oriented to pay more attention to, associate with, and emulate same-sex role models, as studies from developmental psychology seem to indicate, and this same tendency can be observed in other primates and animals, then it seems to follow that there is a gender orientation just like there is a sexual orientation and that gender identity develops over time from this base through observing and learning from same-sex role models. In the case of trans girls, those models would be women, and for trans boys men. In the case of nonbinary people, it would be some kind of mixed or fluctuating preference, or no preference, when it comes to role models.

    a great video! the only piece that i really wanted to know would be the estimates on incidence of these variations in humans. i understand this data , if available at all, would probably be under-reported or based on small sample sizes, but it would have been interesting to hear

    • @TheScienceHerd
      @TheScienceHerd 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting thought. I agree with you that I'm sure these incidences would be underreported, but probably still valuable as a reference point. I will definitely try to include this information on future iterations. Thanks!

    The fact that I have learned more about Eukaryotic gene expression from a 30 minute video from a guy with less than 1k subscribers than I did from three weeks of class with my college professor is truly sad. But thanks for the video and keep up the awesome work!

    Good video, thank you for this video. I hope you can add more videos. One thing still confusing me, though. For a classical computer, a CPU or a GPU can process multiple bits at the same time, and they can have hundreds of cores to process millions of bits simultaneously, which makes computing faster. While I understand that due to entanglement in the Qubit, 2 or more Qubits can be chained to work as one giant Qubit simultaneously. But if for now, we can just entangle a few qubits together, how can they be much faster than any traditional computers? Can we make many cores of the Quantum CPUs?

    we have problems in food, beacause we play god thinking we make things better. Not realizing... we didn't have all information and ended with also negatieve results. Just stay humble ... and do not think we can fix all things. If you are not able to stop you from ALL mistakes, what makes you think you are able to make the right fix... pride, becomes before the fall / destruction

    Syntropy (prediction) is dual to increasing entropy -- the 4th law of thermodynamics! Being is dual to non being creates becoming -- Plato's cat. Thesis (being, alive) is dual to anti-thesis (non being, not alive) creates the converging thesis or synthesis (becoming) -- the time independent Hegelian dialectic or Hegel's cat. Alive is dual to not alive -- Schrodinger's cat. "Always two there are" -- Yoda. Mind (idealism, syntropy) is dual to matter (realism, entropy) -- Descartes or Plato's divided line.

    • @TheScienceHerd
      @TheScienceHerd ปีที่แล้ว

      Some interesting thoughts here. I had never thought about connecting syntropy to entropy. I also wasn't aware that there were some folks advocating for the 4th law of thermodynamics as a link between entropy and evolution. Very cool!

    "diversity is good for our species" - FUNCTIONAL diversity is good for our species. Diversity that reduces the fitness of the species is not. I hope people are not making the mistake of thinking that all diversity is good regardless of the consequences!
