- In "How a Stupid Man DESTROYED the World," witness a different side of the Half-Life universe. This original story follows The Gordon, an unhinged Black Mesa scientist, as he succumbs to madness and embarks on a destructive path to wipe humanity off the earth. This is the continuation to Part 1, where The Freeman successfully unleashed the fury of the people of Xen upon humanity. However, his fight is far from over.

Yeah, I'm slowly learning as I go. They're practically "spatial sound" now, meaning they're meant to sound like they're in a room and not like they're next to the microphone in a studio.

35:40 I believe the super gravity gun didn't vaporize Gordon because Gordon's HEV suit was also overcharged (that's why the suit can go up to 200 health after your weapons get confiscated), so instead of vaporizing Gordon it just electrocuted him a bit.

This is a great series. The writing is funny as hell. The delivery is like the old news reels or crime drama "re-enactments" on cable TV, maybe a combination of both.
I was sad this was "over" but then I remembered Episode 1 & 2 were a thing
Those are gonna be a challenge, tho. I'll need some sort of miraculous moment of heavenly inspiration in order to twist that story so it has a proper, satisfying ending. Damn you, Valve, release HL3 so I can complete The Gordon's trilogy.
@@cursivo Perhaps at the end of Episode 2, it could be said that The Gordon has fainted in ecstatic joy over Eli's death, due to something the latter was doing that was the very last thing holding back his total victory, having only not done so earlier because of "plans" (instincts?) our protagonist had that were yet to unfold, but now, with the Advisors of all things having found and killed him, an action that would backfire in cataclysmic proportions, as a "doom from his mind" would now spread in ways Gordon could only dream of (and if you involve Half-Life: Alyx's post-credits scene, you could say that The Gordon then found himself in confusion and wonder over "if his plans are ever to come to fruition"). This comment got quite long, but its just a suggestion made to perhaps give a hand/inspiration from a fellow writer. Best of luck!

@@cursivo The Combine have deemed earth a lost cause and are fleeing to another dimension to escape the wrath of The Gordon and his lunatic followers, hoping to salvage whatever small amount of peace they can. A handful of rebellion Vortigaunts cannot let this stand, so they rescue Alyx from the reactor explosion and The Gordon from the Gman's clutches, under the belief that only the two of them together are capable of ending the Combine forever.
Gordon really has undying hatred for the Czech Republic, bro, Gordon, tf we ever done to you 💀

As funny as the jokes, memes and edits are, this is a captivating retelling. The way the narration reframes the action on screen to drive the new narrative is really clever and fits smoothly. I'm really invested in this (somehow darker) alternate reality for one of my favorite games of all time.
I'm only five minutes in and I'm already cracking up at the sheer genius of having C17 located in the Czech Republic after the Gordon tried nuking it. Did you plan that from the start or something 😭😭

I'm starting to believe that The Gordon was deeply wronged by something, and is seeking a way to destroy himself, but cannot; hence his determination for destruction.

Loving these vids, bud. Writing is really damn good, but the edits/montages are underappreciated as hell. It's easy to see you put a lot of work into these vids, and the end results are phenomenal

Those montages take forever lol. Especially the one where The Gordon got the super gravity gun. I literally played that entire chapter again just so I could get closer to enemies and blast them away with the left click instead of what I originally had, which was 95% pulling everyone from a safe distance. It was worth it, tho.
@@cursivo After I beat Half-Life 2, I went back and began playing the entire game again but with the super gravity gun on all of the levels. Best stuff ever.

I wouldn't call him stupid. He has a PHD, which is the only reason why he was working at black mesa. Both scientists and freeman never knew that the crystal would make the thingamajig cause the invasion of earth.
