A drug deal gone bad, the cheap laser pistol you bought never could let a shot out before your body was slammed with the first two shots of the color punk in front of you. 1:42 That's an incredible, major improvement of chord pattern. The way the vocals ride on the bass and synth show presence of musical feel that wasn't in the original, this legitimately serenades. Gotye has proven he has a sense for direction in stuff like 'State of the Art's' chorus. But this took Somebody That I Used to Know in a genuine direction instead of quirky minimalism. I think this could have been an amazing soundtrack for a tragic thriller movie in the 80s that would've been as classic as Together in Electric Dreams.
The original version of this song got ruined for me by a coworker playing it every ten minutes for an entire summer. So it’s nice to have this remix, it’s a pretty relatable song.

Remember when we used to drive around Miami at night in 1983 listening to this
I love the background. It reminds me of when I would go on vacation with my family to the beach, and just cruise the main streets looking for some neat shops to check out. I’d just sit and watch the palm trees go by. Pure nostalgia man...
I heard this song from my dad's everlasting hits collection but he lost it back in early 90's. Thanks for uploading this beautiful song, such wonderful memories.
This song brings me back to 2021. For me it's the golden age of the internet
that age was 2017 for me

the internet peaked with he will not divide us in 2016. now its just ads and bots.
the wild web died with the 2010s, 2007-2018 is a better estimate
@@Blaze_556 Bloody hell mate, you right
This is the type of music that you'd see yourself in a third person perspective in a form of a montage back when you were young and full of life where times were simple.
This song makes me wanna take a walk on street under streetlights in midnight & inhaling the cold night air while relieving stresses and problems. 80s synthpop are the best.
gave me lots of nostalgia of being a cingey angsty teenager when I was 14, now I'm 16, and trying my best to not be cringey, and having a hard time picking which of my tomboy childhood friends to confess to
This hits different when its late at night
