The visual perfectly encapsulates a different meaning to the song, its not something familiar but it gives you this feeling that you've known it before like some alternate reality that's so similar that you can't tell, but you still know that somethings off.

So I happened upon this version a while back through my recommended, then I later heard this version in a Helluva Boss Moxxie x Millie short and was like “hold up where have I heard this version before?” and then I saw this video (which showed the red line at the bottom indicating I’d watched it before) in my recommended AGAIN and was like “omg I remember, that’s where I heard it!”

Everyone in the comments saying Gotye is a tragedy cuz he stopped making music, he didn’t. He has a different name he still performs under, he just didn’t want the pressure of expectations that came from making a masterpiece

i used to listen to this a lot after my first heartbreak last year, the relationship was quite nasty and toxic and i was also going through lots and lots of stuff at the time so it hit me really, really hard. this song helped me go through it. i do not know why but i do not remember what happened anymore, i know all these things happened but i cant get my mind to remember the things that happened, maybe its for the better, but i find myself missing the misery sometimes. although i am better, all these things are still a part of me, i cannot avoid reminders forever.

Hate to be that dude but this is more 1984-1985 than 1982. In 1982 people they were still kind of moving on from the 70’s. Until later they caught the grasp of being fully integrated into the 80’s.
