Pokémon Yellow was my dream come true as a kid, where you got to be like Ash and start with Pikachu and have him follow you around, plus get all 3 starters. You couldn't top that.
@AndreiGeorgescu-j9pbecause ash was the main character? What kinda dumbasss question is that? That's like saying no one wanted to be like Goku or Gohan when they hit SS1 and SS2
My parents worked at a hotel when Gen 1 began and I remember my dad giving me blue loose. Turns out he had found it in the parking lot and long story short that's how I got into pokemon and got every game since.
I put literally hundreds of hours into Pokemon Silver and Wario Land 3 under the covers after I was sent to bed.... My parents didn't take mine but I still had an early bedtime and strict privileges, so I assumed I wasn't supposed to be playing, but thought I was so clever keeping my Gameboy Color in the little cubby behind my pillow, with the wormlight attachment plugged in so I could see, because no backlight. 😆 In hindsight, I'm sure my parents were aware of more than I realized and may have noticed my Gameboy there, and simply never questioned it. They were probably just glad I quietly went to bed and stayed there. 😅
Feel bad for kids now that never got to experience pokemania. It was one of the most magical times for gaming and before everything was spoiled by the internet.
Then there is me since first 2 seasons of pokemon anime was still airing in Turkey back in 2004-2005 (then they banned it cuz some s****d kid j***d *ff a building thinking himself as pikachu it doesn't make sense) my 4-5 year old not english knowing kid a$s somehow figured out how to download and setup a gameboy emulator (I didn't know what an emulator was I just knew when you click and drag some files you got a cool game my cousin setting up mame before helped too) and also found roms on some obsucure turkish forums that I forgot even the name of and played pokemon red until like lavender town.
The first Pokemon game I ever played was Pokemon Diamond. I was 10 years old when it released and I fell in love with the game instantly. I specifically remember the excitement I felt when I heard Platinum was releasing and the day I got it for Christmas I was sooooo freaking happy. I replay Platinum once a year or two and the second I hear the music kick in I always immediately feel comfortable and relaxed.
One Matty I didn't realize we were born same year, 2 pokemon red was my first game as well and share your mindset on newer titles as well not feeling the same. You had to be there for this. It feels weird to say I grew up as pokemon grew up. I remember my dad taking me to get my first gameboy color the turquoise one and the first pokemon game I got was red from kb toys. My dad meant a lot to me in this era and I also grew up with handheld more because our family could not afford consoles at that time. Game boy, psp, ds is such a good memory for me. Thank you for bring more nostalgia back and I would love to eventually own gen 1-4 completely sealed as well as they are the fondest memories I have with pokemon and my dad. Keep up the content man!
I replayed Red and Crystal last year. Still so good. It's hard to play without fast forward now though, that little bit of convenience makes the grind so much more enjoyable and has made the games much more accessible time wise for me now as an adult.
as a fellow 1995, baby, I think Pokémon had a very distinct effect on our exact little microgeneration because especially if you had older siblings which we both did a lot of these games were around before you even really realized what was going on. Pokémon was so intertwined with the first 10 years of my life that I really can’t imagine childhood without them. It’s interesting that you stopped after generation three because that’s also when I stopped. I did, however, recently start buying the DS games and I am excited to start trying those since while I had a DS I never bought the games for it. By then I was in middle school and the gap between Ruby and Sapphire and diamond and Pearl was a lot.I really enjoyed your video. Thank you. I will definitely be subscribing.
Nice little touches make this manual the best. Leather texture printed front page, spiral bound edge, printed paper clips holding memos to the page, rpg style text boxes with oaks portrait, ken sugimoris art which used white highlights instead of black shading
Love the review! Remembered when my brother and I got blue and red edition and obsessed over it, was like 6 so 90s kid and then yellow came out. Still have the cards and the promo one from the first movie they gave out. Bought the silver Japanese version before it was out here, buying from the back of the catalog of Pojo's magazine, DBZ Legends also hah thanks for the throw back
I was once told that switching from left to right on the D-pad every time the Poké Ball tilts increases the chances of catching a Pokémon, and I've been doing that ever since. 😂
My first game ever that i can remember was pokemon Red. I loved it. My next pokemon title was Pokemon Crystal that my mom bought me. For my GameBoy Pocket. Not knowing it required a gameboy color 🤣 i had to wait over 6 months staring at the cartridge till i got one for my following birthday lol
This video came at the perfect time. I’m playing through Red, Blue and Yellow so I can complete the Pokédex in Yellow. Thanks for the awesome video, Matty!
Despite what anyone can say about Gen 1, it is Gen 1. It started it all. It became nostalgia for a lot of us growing up, but it also evolved as time went by. Yeah, some stuff wasn’t the best. We fans think we know best (sometimes we do, see any of the amazing ROM hacks nowadays), but each Gen has ALWAYS been fun. Explore, catch, battle, trade. This basic gameplay is actually incredibly brilliant, especially for curious kids that see cool Pokemon like Charizard, Rhydon, Dragonite, etc etc, or the kids that see the cute Pokemon like Pikachu, Jigglypuff, or Meowth. It goes way deeper as you learn and grow as an adult so it keeps us interested, but I’m happy it still attracts new fans. It truly is a great franchise despite the many flaws us veterans of the series could point out. Great video dude. Love this franchise despite my opinions on their choices 😅
i will never forget my lvl 100 pidgeot. that majestic bird carried me on its mighty wings to the end. the reason i wont forget it is i used to play all the time with friends via link cable, and a few years go by im touting how awesome my pidgeot was we decide alright lets fight, i turn it on only to find out over time my battery died inside the cart. RIP Russ. mighty wings and hadoukens across time.
I was 5 years old in 2000 when my parents bought me a Gameboy and Pokemon Yellow for Christmas. By that point, I had already been watching the anime for a couple years. I stopped playing the series after elementary school, but I got back into it in college shortly before Sun and Moon came out. Now I'm 29 years old, and I'm currently working on a Pokemon Yellow playthough. I watch the current anime and I plan on playing more games for the first time (I haven't played past Gen 5) at some point. Even though I've heard a lot of complaints about the most recent games, this series has created a lot of fond memories for me.
We had basically the same gaming trajectory - pokemon was HUGE when I began my gaming journey. My first game was pokemon pinball and I was into the franchise until Gen 3, then Megaman NT Warrior came to the states and I got hooked on that. Then my parents got me BN3 for my birthday and it blew my mind that something so complex could be on the GBA. My brother got white I got blue so we're able to link battle. Such fun memories!
Really glad my Gameboy games (most at least) are near mint & complete in box still. Including Pokemon Red, Yellow & Silver on top of some odd titles like Killer Instinct, Battle Arena Toshinden & Mega Man 4 & 5. It was never a rumor, but I used to tap A to the tempo of the pokeball moving while capturing a pokemon because it felt like it should increase your chance of a successful capture. I knew it did nothing, but it felt fun & so I still do it today.
I still hit down+B subconsciously when catching Pokémon. Even though I now know it doesn't do anything that habit is something I don't think I can break.
This is one of the first games I ever played, the first I played on the GBC and also my first Pokémon game ever. I still remember getting that Gameboy and holding the original Pokémon Yellow box in my hands as a young child. Such a beautiful game that I hold very dear to my heart!
Finished Yellow earlier and am on my way to finish Red. Just need to get all the exclusives to trade to red blue and yellow to get my living dex for all three. Breeding is such a blessing even with how slow it is in Gen 2 and Ruby and Sapphire.
Holding a button for catching isn't a total myth in the older games. button input contributed to the rng of those games so technically some button presses can affect your ability to catch a Pokémon. It just isn't a particular button or combination of buttons for each rng seed.
The rule for Pokemon random encounters is that if you're trying to get somewhere, you get a random encounter every step. But if you're actually trying to battle and catch wild Pokemon, you get 1 encounter per minute.
I always did the alternating a+b+a+b etc. I am currently playing yellow through a download app on my iPad, I never got to play the originals, I think my first Pokemon game (besides Pokemon pinball) was leaf green. My cousin had yellow on GBA colour and I loved that Pikachu would follow you around everywhere - hence why I'm playing it now
My first ever Pokemon game when I was 10 years old. Im still a fan of the games to this day and there's a lot of things that still need to evolve with this franchise.
Pokemon was just a thing you had to be there for, and Gen 1 has the nostalgia, I remember the rumor around my neighborhood was that if you pressed and held up and B right when the poke ball made contact, it would have a 100% catch rate. Back then it was actually possible to catch them all since there was only 150 and you didn't have 100+ legendaries scattered across multiple games, systems and events that never made it here. All the pokemon had a cohesive design and not just a pile of trash or an ice cream cone which is why those first ones are remembered so fondly. It was way simpler than the modern games, since there was no Attack or Sp Def split, no held items, no natures or hidden abilities. It was pure RPG goodness on the go.
I hold B while sucking the Pokemon in, but press A whenever the Pokeball rocks, trying to time it perfectly. A huge missed opportunity apparently. Who would have thought so many people would want something to do while they watch a 10 second animation, completely at the mercy of the game.
There will never be a time like that again, No information available at all but also holding a portable video game in your hands. The dichotomy of that situation is unique in gaming history for all times.
for me it was hold b while it's flying, then switch to holding a when pokeball grabs it, then switch to b a b every bounce, and hold, when it wiggles switch, and do that until it's caught, and I still do it. actually works btw
This was the 1 game in the late 90s I had missed out on, as i had Pokemon Red and I even missed out on Crystal because I had Gold. I now have them on the 3DS (when VC was available) and both are really good, so far.
Smith’s legacy rom hacks are fantastic. He released a Crystal version first and I played the hell out of that. My first game as a kid was Crystal and his rom hack is the perfected edition of the game for me.
While I love Yellow version, I did a recent revisit of gen 1 and decided to go with Fire Red instead. Gen 3 was one of my favorite looking and gameplay in the series. Having Yellow in that engine just feels like the best of both worlds.
i was born in the 2000s and pokemon yellow was my first ever game, my older cousin gave me a gameboy colour with the game in it and ive put around 230 hours into it over 16 years, 100% my favourite pokemon game haha
Something you probably didn’t know was that Pokémon yellow was supposed to have a partner game called Pokémon pink (special Jigglypuff edition) it would’ve followed the same plot as Pokémon yellow, except Jigglypuff would be your partner, and it would feature for the first time a female protagonist however, that one got scrapped in because they wanted to stay as close to the anime as possible so what we got was Pokémon yellow
My young brother and I had our very first Pokémon videogames, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue versions, which its our very first anime videogames that we had when we were kids in the late 1990s.
I started with Gen 4 and it was fun so I bought All 3 Gen 1 games back in 2015 before they hiked up in price with new batteries and I had just gotten the GB Operator to try and backup my saves before they were gone only to find out the new battery had already died for my Yellow Team. One Day I'll Replay it now that i have the whole game backed up and don't have to worry about losing my team again.
I still play this to this day it's a very nice and simple game i play this 4 years ago on the 3ds after Pokémon Crystal on the 3DS and it was great it gave me life and make me love Pokémon again even if the new ones don't do much for me i still like the series.
Were they? I feel like I remember them coming in small Poke Balls with the meal. Separate purchase would make much more sense though since they're of a pretty high quality imo.
@@retrorebound8887 I got them in the pokeballs. There’s a chance my pops just bought me the collection separately but the were intended to come with the meal, but if memory serves me, I think they cost more than a meal, and I think they were genuine gold plated.
Still my ultimate favorite. :) As well on the smith plays, the dude also remade pokemon crystal! An is said to be working on emerald legacy. I really hope and wondering who will come out with a pokemon rainbow (yellow-platinum) first smith plays or Nintendo? 😂
I was born in 97, do my first game was Crystal. Pokemon was everything to me as a kid. Gen 1 and 2 have a darker tone with Rocket being genuine evil people. It made it feel more adult while still being for children. To this day I can play Gen 1- 5 with no question.
I don't even know what Gen Pokemon is on anymore, let alone how many Pokemon there are. But Gens 1 though 6 I was locked in. I remember playing Alpha Sapphire and physically feeling the magic dissipate from within me.
100%. I was born in 85. Pokemon is that rare franchise i missed and have no nostalgia for. I wanna give it a shot but honestly with persona and smt (and so many entries) i get my demon/monster collecting fix from that
1:02 My Dad actually had the entire collection + the pokeballs. Unfortunately, I was a kid, he Cheated on my mother, we lost our property in storage, and so went those cards.
When I was a kid, due to the lack of link cable and friends to play with, I was unable to catch all 151 Pokemon in Yellow. When RBY got released in the 3DS Virtual console, I decided to deal with my unfinished business as a kid since I had an extra 3ds. It had to be Yellow as it is my childhood and it is loosely base in the anime which I like. Yellow in my main 3ds while both Red and Blue in my other 3ds. (There are Pokemon that can only be caught in Red (Like Electabuzz) that are not in Blue and Yellow and can only be caught in Blue (Like Magmar) that are not in Red and Yellow. In fact you only need Red and Blue to catch them all but I wanted to do it with Yellow.) My team was loosely base with Ash's in the original series. -Pikachu as the starter -The 3 Kanto starters (Fully evolved because I need the pokedex completion) -Lapras since in the entire series, Ash surfed on a Lapras more so than any other Pokemon. Which is why I use Lapras to surf on -Pidgeot as it is a part of Ash's main 6 Pokemon Similar to the anime, I also used Butterfree but I deposited it permanently after getting past rock tunnel after I used it as the Flash user. I used Butterfree's confusion to defeat Brock in the game because there is no way I can copy how Ash won against Brock. That was pure BS. 😆 Completing all 151 Pokemon in Yellow version virtual console was my last memory of Gen 1. Good times. I was able to finish what I started as a kid.
My friend gave me his Gameboy advance SP and his 3 Pokémon games ( 1998 originals and Pokemon Sapphire) that he had since 1998. I used to have my gameboy advance SP and played it until the L and R triggers broke (I blame Kingdom hearts chain of memories for that) and I played my Pokemon Red game until it broke. Now that I have them again After all these years and playing it again really brings back some old childhood memories for me. I funny enough, got a SP travel pack collection from my friends store that came with headphones, 2 travel cases for games and the console, 6 game holders, a link cable, and a copy of Pokemon black and white guide book
The reason why this version is much better than Pokemon Red, Blue, and Green was that it was more based on the anime (which star Ash/Satoshi) at the time rather than the manga (which star Red). As such elements from the anime made it into the game including the inclusion of Jessie, James, and Meowth as well as Pikachu walking alongside the player and refusing to evolve or taking the thunder stone. Also like the anime you will be able to obtain all 3 starters from Pokemon Red, Blue, and Green by just simply playing Yellow and doing task, this allow you to not only get Pikachu but also Charmander from Red, Squirtle from Blue, Bulbasaur from Green, and Eevee like Gary. The only disappointment though is that the glitch to getting Mew and Missingno had been fix in Yellow so in able to get those you had to still get them in Red and Blue and then trade them into Yellow. Trading Missingno to Yellow; however, will get you a random Pokemon since Missingno had no data in Pokemon Yellow.
My very first console (I was always PC) was a GameBoy Color when it first released, and it came with Pokémon Yellow. I played that game to death, along with "6 Golden Coins" and a few others. Happy you're going back to this one, Matty. Brings back the memories.
More handheld gaming content please. Handhelds have so many fascinating/great games that aren't talked about enough. Though this one is quite popular, understandably.
5:15 okay, I’m not a fan of new pokemon at all but even I’ll admit that it absolutely was a problem back then. I mean red blue and yellow are practically held together with duck tape
Pokemon yellow on a yellow gbc was my first pokemon game, ah! I remember being up late at night and hiding under the covers with a cruddy worm light, constantly peaking out incase my mum end finding me wake on a school night. My cousin told me the catch rate increased button pattern was b+a+b+a down with the ball movement, as if its some timed thing you had to perfect. Lol.
My first memories of playing Pokemon was the copies of fire red and ruby and or emerald (can't remember which) that I had for my Gameboy Advance SP when I was a kid.
Growing up I had blue when I was 5Y/0 when it first came out then I had Gold then Ruby, but for me personally Ruby was my favourite and probably always will be. I’d love a remake of it so much more than probably any other game remake
pokemmo is the best pokemon game out now. been playing it for over 10 years. i have pokemon on there from 2013. if anyone curious its most the pokemon games tide into one game you take the boat in the gameboy game to other regions. not to mention they have alphas, shinys, and raids.
Josh has been rendering in 4K which has helped things out on a visual quality front. Also does a vignette effect to create some shadows around the edge while the light is in the middle giving us that "childhood bedroom" feel. On my end, I finally figured out how to place my lights in a place most effective while being able to lower the ISO on my camera enough to make sure the screen in the back is more visible. With some games like Pokemon Yellow where the main menu is just white, it's tough to work around, but that's the long answer! Thanks for taking notice :)
It seems quaint now but at the time it was so cool being able to cram this much game into your pocket and take it with you. I had red/blue/yellow but I definitely dumped many more hours into Gold/Silver. Then I never played another pokemon game again. (Except pokemon stadium on the N64)
My first pokemon game was Pokémon Yellow but it's not how you will think it is 😂. So growing up (I'm 33 now btw) had a Gameboy but I never had a chance to play the pokemon games except Pokèmon Stadium on the N64. But the first time I ever played Pokémon Yellow was on my Sony Ericsson W810i back in 2007 and I got addicted to it really quick. Though now I have a nice big collect of Pokemon games. And I definitely prefer the pokemons from Kanto, Hoen and Jhoto Yellow, Silver, LG/FR, E/R/S, HG/SS, Platinum, White, X, OR/AS, Moon, Brilliant Diamond
Pokémon Yellow was my dream come true as a kid, where you got to be like Ash and start with Pikachu and have him follow you around, plus get all 3 starters. You couldn't top that.
@AndreiGeorgescu-j9pbecause ash was the main character?

RIP THE KID THAT LOST BLUE
To this day I still hold B when playing any pokemon game
Look up gumbino how to catch a pokemon
It totally works
For me it was always up + B
Down and B for me lol
I always held A because I associated the B button with backing out and the A button with accept
And it aged amazingly, this was my favourite
Platinum is my favorite personally but this is a close second.
3:50 my mom would take my nintendo ds before bed time but always failed to remember the SP under my pillow
Brilliant strategy
I put literally hundreds of hours into Pokemon Silver and Wario Land 3 under the covers after I was sent to bed.... You had a bait gameboy! Legendary
You definitely had to be there to truly love yellow blue and red
Feel bad for kids now that never got to experience pokemania. It was one of the most magical times for gaming and before everything was spoiled by the internet.
Not true I just finished blue for the first time and it was amazing
@daelium89 you might have liked it, but I promise if u would've played it in the 90s, it would've been ur life

I'm literally making my way through yellow and just beat the 6th gym i love these classics, coming up on 27 soon miss the old days
11:14 it sorta holds up. Gens 1 and 2 are hardest to return to because of the running shoes introduced in gen 3

I got yellow as my first pokemon game, even though second gen was already out. Played the hell out of it.
There will never be a time like that again, No information available at all but also holding a portable video game in your hands. The dichotomy of that situation is unique in gaming history for all times.
Pokemon yellow was my first gb game on my gba sp that i still have from when i was 8 in 2006
for me it was hold b while it's flying, then switch to holding a when pokeball grabs it, then switch to b a b every bounce, and hold, when it wiggles switch, and do that until it's caught, and I still do it. actually works btw
WE'RE SO FCKING BACK!
After my Vacation, i can finnaly watch your Videos again!
i was born in the 2000s and pokemon yellow was my first ever game, my older cousin gave me a gameboy colour with the game in it and ive put around 230 hours into it over 16 years, 100% my favourite pokemon game haha
I would love to watch you open any card packs. Please post those videos too if you could
The fact that i grew up in Australia and still hold b when i catch Pokémon is just insane to me.
How did these stories and myths cross hemispheres
I found Dratini only once while playing yellow, bugs me so much i cant find him again
Just fish in the safari zone mate
I still play this to this day it's a very nice and simple game i play this 4 years ago on the 3ds after Pokémon Crystal on the 3DS and it was great it gave me life and make me love Pokémon again even if the new ones don't do much for me i still like the series.
I am going to give my kid these games first as they grow up, hopefully getting them to appreciate the older ones.
I think the gold plated cards were a separate purchase, not with a kids meal. My dad bought me the collection. Miss them!
You have to hold down and b to guarantee a catch but you have to do it exactly when the Pokemon go in the ball
Still my ultimate favorite. :) As well on the smith plays, the dude also remade pokemon crystal! An is said to be working on emerald legacy. I really hope and wondering who will come out with a pokemon rainbow (yellow-platinum) first smith plays or Nintendo? 😂
10:06 Green is the rival character, Blue is the girl.
I was born in 97, do my first game was Crystal. Pokemon was everything to me as a kid. Gen 1 and 2 have a darker tone with Rocket being genuine evil people. It made it feel more adult while still being for children. To this day I can play Gen 1- 5 with no question.
❤
Gen 5 I'd literally about slavery from what I remember. But I guess since gen 1 it's been like that
Wished you had more of a playthrough
Just started my first proper play through of yellow but my favourites are the mystery dungeon games (blue and sky)
I wanna give it a shot but honestly with persona and smt (and so many entries) i get my demon/monster collecting fix from that
1:02
My Dad actually had the entire collection + the pokeballs.
In fact you only need Red and Blue to catch them all but I wanted to do it with Yellow.)
My team was loosely base with Ash's in the original series.
-Pikachu as the starter
-The 3 Kanto starters (Fully evolved because I need the pokedex completion)
-Lapras since in the entire series, Ash surfed on a Lapras more so than any other Pokemon. Which is why I use Lapras to surf on
-Pidgeot as it is a part of Ash's main 6 Pokemon
Similar to the anime, I also used Butterfree but I deposited it permanently after getting past rock tunnel after I used it as the Flash user.
I used Butterfree's confusion to defeat Brock in the game because there is no way I can copy how Ash won against Brock. That was pure BS. 😆
Completing all 151 Pokemon in Yellow version virtual console was my last memory of Gen 1.
Good times. I was able to finish what I started as a kid.
My first experience with Yellow was when it came out on the virtual console. Going back to that after the quality of life improvements was BRUTAL 😂
This is not true. There are multiple ways to get mew in yellow. I’ve done it.
I'm grateful to you for showing me your video games you are a nice honest person 👌
My first Pokémon game. 😊
I will never forget first time getting charmander after nugget bridge and just going bonkers
I used to have a pokemon yellow gameboy color. I found the box and gave it to my buddy a few years ago. Wild how expensive that stuff has become.
Born in 2000 and my first was leaf green. Been a ever since
My very first console (I was always PC) was a GameBoy Color when it first released, and it came with Pokémon Yellow. I played that game to death, along with "6 Golden Coins" and a few others.
Happy you're going back to this one, Matty. Brings back the memories.
More handheld gaming content please. Handhelds have so many fascinating/great games that aren't talked about enough. Though this one is quite popular, understandably.
Yellow was always my favorite growing up purely because Pikachu would follow you around. Ruby/Saphire are close seconds though.
5:15 okay, I’m not a fan of new pokemon at all but even I’ll admit that it absolutely was a problem back then. I mean red blue and yellow are practically held together with duck tape
I just did a run on my analogue pocket not long ago. It just reminds me of the good days.
Game boy advance sp is prob my favorite handheld console
That Lavender Town transition went hard
Pokemon yellow on a yellow gbc was my first pokemon game, ah! I remember being up late at night and hiding under the covers with a cruddy worm light, constantly peaking out incase my mum end finding me wake on a school night. My cousin told me the catch rate increased button pattern was b+a+b+a down with the ball movement, as if its some timed thing you had to perfect. Lol.
Played Red a thousand times over the years but never Yellow until last year. It's still fun but a slightly different experience.
My first memories of playing Pokemon was the copies of fire red and ruby and or emerald (can't remember which) that I had for my Gameboy Advance SP when I was a kid.
Growing up I had blue when I was
5Y/0 when it first came out then I had Gold then Ruby, but for me personally Ruby was my favourite and probably always will be. I’d love a remake of it so much more than probably any other game remake
They did re make ruby already lol
What a surprise! Loved this movie as a kid!
I STILL rapid tap A for increased catch chance because while I know it isn't true, the child in me screams at me if I don't
pokemmo is the best pokemon game out now. been playing it for over 10 years. i have pokemon on there from 2013. if anyone curious its most the pokemon games tide into one game you take the boat in the gameboy game to other regions. not to mention they have alphas, shinys, and raids.
Hey Matty, did you get a new camera or lens? The video looks great!
@@retrorebound8887 im beginning my photography journey so these are great things to keep in mind! Keep up the great work 👍
Nah but right in the middle of you talking about pokemon, i got my first look at an ad for Alien: Romulus and it looks SO GOOD 🔥
grinding the safari zone at 11pm on a school night .... SAME!
It seems quaint now but at the time it was so cool being able to cram this much game into your pocket and take it with you. I had red/blue/yellow but I definitely dumped many more hours into Gold/Silver. Then I never played another pokemon game again. (Except pokemon stadium on the N64)
Big guy… you mean snorlax?
My first pokemon game was Pokémon Yellow but it's not how you will think it is 😂. So growing up (I'm 33 now btw) had a Gameboy but I never had a chance to play the pokemon games except Pokèmon Stadium on the N64. But the first time I ever played Pokémon Yellow was on my Sony Ericsson W810i back in 2007 and I got addicted to it really quick. Though now I have a nice big collect of Pokemon games. And I definitely prefer the pokemons from Kanto, Hoen and Jhoto
