"you like Arab music but you don't consider yourself an Arab?" what kind of question is that
I admit it sounds silly, but if you accept the definition of ARAB as "culture", then not only enjoying randomly, but being a consumer of Arab culture, food, music, patriarchal habits, etc - raises the question .
(and the conclusion I think is, A. Language is a very dominant criterion here; B.Much of it depends whether the competing ethnicity (Jewishness) excludes its members from belonging to any other Ethnic/Cultural definition)

@JimboParadox Not true. There are plenty of brown skin Jews and even Black Jews. You can not identify Jews by skin color. It would be the same as referring to all American's as white. Genetically speaking, Arabs and Jews are brothers. Also, Arabs come in many shades also. I have met Arabs with white skin, brown skin, and black skin. I have met both Jews and Arabs with equally large noses and equally small noses. You need to get out of the basement and become more cultured.
I like Arab music, I'm particularly fond of the sound of the oud. But I'm Ashkenazi. One can enjoy the music and other aspects of another culture not their own.

When I visited Israel years ago, one thing quickly became apparent: with the exception of Hasidic Jews, I could not tell the Jews apart from the Palestinians.
I'm a Canadian of arab descent. I want to visit Israel but I always wondered if I would face some form of discrimination... But from what I see, a good portion of Israelis look even more arab than me xDDD.

just to clear this Up ... for Morocco, in our Moroccan constitution " Morocco is not Arab" there's no line that say that Morocco is an arab country, and for languages in the Moroccan constitution our two official languages are : TAMAZIGHT and ARABIC. for the identity it's clearly said in the constitution that Morocco has a mixture of cultures between Amazigh, Arabs, jews, moresque, Sahraoui, mediteranian.
But !! the Moroccan constitution doesn't consider MOROCCO as an ARAB COUNTRY
morocco has an arab state with an arab king. that's first second amazigh is spoken by a minority of moroccans. if u go to the major cities like casablanca, rabat, tanger and marrakesh u won't find many amazigh speakers except those who came from rif or chleuh area like agadir and those villages there
i find it quite interesting and made me more curious & eager to visit isreal one day..BTW, I am an arab libyan , "from a muslim back ground " ..i likde the the way that those isreali were agiving their opinions in a more of calm civilized manner contrasting language of anger and hate , that many arabs still use or may have resorted to if were asked the same question about isreal in their home countries...

They should differentiate between Nationality, Religion and Race. Some of them say that we don't consider our self arab because we are Israeli and jew. Also, it seems that they automatic assume that arabs are muslims which is not true. Arabs can be muslims/christians/jews etc.

But it is not only Nationality, Religion and Race. Jews have different genes than the rest of the population. In fact, having a DNA test can tell you how Jewish you are. "Race" is a weird concept. It only makes sense if groups never intermarry. My feeling is that "race" was mainly invented for the USA in order to feel that the different European groups can feel like one nationality ("white") which is different from African-Americans, natives, etc. Today, being a jew can be a religion, but usually it's more of an ethnic-cultural thing.

My friend from Maloula is Syrian and his grandparents still speak Aramaic, the original language of Syria and Iraq, while he himself only speaks Syrian Arabic. He is linguistically part of the Arab speaking world, but he is ethnically for sure not an Arab. He is native to Syria and he is a recent example of language shift whereas millions of other Syrian or Iraqi families switched from Aramaic to Arabic a few centuries ago.
