      Although I agree that Talmudic/Rabbinical Judaism can at times seem exclusionary, Judaism isn’t really a religion and was never meant to be, biblically speaking. The point of Judaism was to spread the word of God’s existence and his commandments. Jews don’t want anyone to convert because there isn’t supposed to be anything to convert to.

    Another good example of the complexity of the human species overthinking life. No one is born a Jew, Christian, Buddhist, Muslim and so on, they are born human. Our parents/ guardians then tell us what we are and teach us their ways.
    Here's the very basics of it all. You are born a human being in geographical location on the planet earth with whatever bloodline and which usually determines what faith you follow. From there your told/trained about that faith by parents, guardians, friends and so on. You either follow it or you don't. It's that simple.

      @mashkanyc หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      What do you mean kingdom of god? Like the Jewish concept of afterlife/heaven? No, there will be plenty of non Jews there as far as most theories go. Ifs more from the concept of let’s say a family home and everyone has their role they’re expected to fulfill. Maybe the mom cooks but dad washes the dishes, etc everyone has their own role to play. And if there are multiple kids in the house, usually the older sibling is the one that’s expected to do more of the chores, he/she’s the one held to a higher responsibility expectation by the parent .. doesn’t make the other kids less or more valuable or more or less part of the household.
      And yes people can convert to Judaism but Jews are supposed to discourage the person bc as a convert they’d have to keep all the commandments (so basically be fully fully religious lifestyle always) and this is crazy difficult. I will tell you most Jews don’t fill this role, but the ultra orthodox usually try the most And also discouraged bc you’re good enough as it is, why would you volunteer to take on more duties when you don’t have to.

    Dear Rabbi Manis, I have been watching your presentations with encouragement, taking note and enjoying you share your learned wisdom.
    As I am not Jewish, do not speak Hebrew and understand that my Christian heritage does not fit with your world view about service to God. How does one, who is not Jewish, attempt to correctly serve God according your understanding?
    I know that I can acquire an English version of your Tanakh and read it, but what good is it if I gain knowledge of a text that I cannot correctly apply, outside of being as good to others as I already practice, without attaching the label of God upon my deeds? That is not to say that I think that I am Godly, but I talk to the Christian ‘version’ of God, but do not pray to and worship Him.
    Interestingly, I already practice one of your teachings without being ‘taught.’ That being that I have always asked God what I can do for Him, or, ‘How can I serve You?’ as I don’t subscribe to the Christian idea of praying for everything that I want to go my way, or being nice to people simply because I want to go to heaven; or escape God’s wrath. Unfortunately, I only receive silence in return, hoping that there is a bigger picture that I am not privy to.
    In my world, the Christian is to share their faith with others, regardless of whether or not the faith is correct, in Gods eyes. However, I may be wrong, but Judaism seems to be a closed community, except on special open, multicultural days.
    How will you bring Abraham’s blessing to the world, according to the Christian Old Testament, if the world only sees your practices on TH-cam videos or video documentaries?
    The above is not presented as a criticism, but rather, it is a genuine inquiry to try to understand how a non-Jew can correctly apply your written statement; ‘You don’t have to be Jewish to serve God,’ both personally and outwardly, within the community.

    A somewhat forgotten truth of Christianity as well. It was also bringing God to man (Or rather God intervening in the world openly and declaring that "heaven" will come to earth permanently in the future). "Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven". We pray this everyday. Christianity certainly was never a religion solely based on the (false) idea that you just wait to die and go to heaven/better place. You live life now as if you're ready there and the Chritain community is supposed to be a picture of what the future world of peace, knowledge, equality, happiness and heavinliness is going to be like.

      It’s not easy to just convert. You’d be obligated to keep all the 613 commandments/obligations. It’s very very difficult and you’re good enough as you are, there’s no reason to convert. It’s more about joining a nation than converting to a religion. So it’s a different concept than Islam or Christianity. This is the reason why non Jews don’t need to convert. They are already part of their own nations/cultures etc. also the line of Judaism is passed through the mother, bc people can deceive about who the father is but it’s harder to deceive who the mother is.

      @@Shane-zx4ps Biblical Judaism and Biblical Christianity, unlike all other (pagan) religions, does not teach that we are to manipulate G-D to do our bidding. In effect, these other religions bring down their g-ds to earth, to do their bidding, either by spell, chant, sacrifice, or some bribery. Certainly, sacrifices in Judeo-Christian Bible teaching exists, but it is for payment for sin, or part of praising/thanking G-D. The Rabbi here in this video SOUNDED like he was saying we are to bring G-D down to earth ourselves. In esoteric terms, the so-called Magen David symbolizes a PAGAN practice, where one triangle points up to G-D, and the other down to man. Thus, there is a mirroring effect of what happens above causes what happens below, AND VISA VERSA. I personally reject this symbol, since I believe it is the "star" Israel took with them from Egypt, as per the prophet Amos in 5:26. I was hoping the Rabbi could clarify his point.

      Are you artistic? It's not tricking G-d.
      We shall not do some kinds of work at shabbat that were set by G-d himself, so we either are doing them or we aren't. There is no "tricks".
      These rules are also usually generalized and not specific.
      For example when G-d says you shouldn't manipulate a circuit, that doenst mean we are tricking G-d by using any type of light, like those shabbat lamps.
      This is pure goysplaining, thinking they know more about Judaism than Jews.

    Isnt bringing the world closer to God, the same thing as bringing God down to the world? You seem to be saying contradictory thing: We are not to try to get closer to God (heaven), but then you say we are to bring the world closer
    to God (heaven)

    Anyone can be loved and blessed by God.
    It is a beautiful thing to be Jewish and to be raised in the Jewish faith. It is also important to know that if it is GODs plan for only some to be Jewish it is also GODs plan for others not to be Jewish. Sometimes you have to wonder which is the blessing and which is the curse.

    Well obviously, Judaism is the only religion that doesn't encourage people to convert to it, on the contrary, it's extremely exclusive. Most nationalistic religion there is. The "chosen nation" even sounds quite similar to the "master race" when you think about it.

      That’s what Christian Bible and Islam push as a narrative. I. Judaism if you cared you’d find out what “chosen” means. Means you’re the one chosen to do chores around the house more than your younger sibilants who just need to brush their teeth before bed. Same concept.

    Isaiah 56:4-7 4 For this is what the Lord says:
    “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths,
    who choose what pleases me
    and hold fast to my covenant-
    5 to them I will give within my temple and its walls
    a memorial and a name
    better than sons and daughters;
    I will give them an everlasting name
    that will endure forever.
    6 And foreigners who bind themselves to the Lord
    to minister to him,
    to love the name of the Lord,
    and to be his servants,
    all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it
    and who hold fast to my covenant-
    7 these I will bring to my holy mountain
    and give them joy in my house of prayer.
    Their burnt offerings and sacrifices
    will be accepted on my altar;
    for my house will be called
    a house of prayer for all nations.”
    8 The Sovereign Lord declares-
