My two experiences with Jewish people at a young age taught me so much I’ll never forget. The first experience was during the process of selling a Jewish person a new Audi. I made the comment “I don’t think you’re trying to “Jew me down” in price.” In my ignorance, I thought it was a slang term that had to do with chewing or removing something, hence lowering. She graciously asked me if I realized what that meant and so I told her what I had thought. She smiled and explained the truth about that saying with all the kindness you can imagine.
The second was when I told a Jewish woman that happened to be the wife of the owner of another business I was managing…”merry christmas” I instantly remembered she was Jewish and my eyes got wide while I said “I’m so sorry, I shouldn’t have said that” She smiled, she grabbed my hand and she said “why would you ever be sorry for wishing a kindness to someone? You have nothing to apologize for”
It proved to me just how kind these people are. I’ll never forget that.

But the main book of CHABAD written by the founder of CHABAD, the Alte Rebbe, says that only Jewish souls are holy. It says that the gentile souls come from the unclean kelipot where there is no good whatsoever and any good done by the gentile is not good because it is purely selfish. Yes I am a Jew. And I've read the Tanya. Yes! This is what it says.
While I do recognize the outreach of CHABAD, and I have gone to CHABAD synogogues, I do so no longer because I cannot sanction this view.

The ChaBad then and since 5753, the passing of the last Rebbe, is completely different; though Manis Friedman seems mostly among those from before; yet hides the inner aspects about the Rebbe, intentionally, purposely while alluding to them.

The people of the world are splitting apart, everyone is being segregated one way or the other. Either by race, colour , religion, sex, you name it and a new group pops up and everyone feels like they are being attacked by someone. Everyone is saying that their cause is more important than the other group. Victimhood brings no meaning and purpose to ones life. We have lost respect and love for each other. Much more productive, but difficult, to build personal relationships with the non-members of the community over time. But that has a greater, lasting impact on what people think.

Sorry for my short novel response here, but I stumbled upon this video and really enjoyed Rabbi Friedman’s remarks. I’m a Latter Day Saint/ Christian who was born and raised in Los Angeles. I’m also a Millennial. I personally knew a number of Orthodox Jews and even more cultural or social Jews. I also heard the “you’re generation is going to grow up and save the world” line all the time growing up, especially in school. I went to LAUSD and SMMUSD at different times.
In my opinion, the pushing of that idea on my generation and the fact so many took it to heart is why the world is seemingly falling apart right now. The “anti-bullying” movements have actually become the biggest bullies of our time and really only serve to divide. I very much agree with the Rabbi here, we can’t save the world, but we can work on ourselves and help our communities out. If everyone did that, we would go a long way in making the world a better place.
On the issue of Anti-Semitism, my view is very clear. We should focus less on individual groups and more on a universal message of “stop dehumanizing people.” Full stop. I don’t wish to minimize the horrors of the Holocaust or other atrocities that have occurred against Jews in the past. However, while not on the same scale (yet) as the Holocaust, every religious or cultural group has faced hate and oppression at some point in history and it is all wrong.
I feel most people miss the actual point of the Holocaust, and that is that ANY group could be in the oppressors or the oppressed position. The kind of hate and opposition the Jewish people faced in 1930’s Germany was only different than past oppression because for the first time the oppressors had the technology to decimate an entire group of people with ease. That technology has only gotten more powerful and sophisticated in the nearly hundred years since.
Next time, it might not be the Jews who deal with the threat of eradication at the hands of the government. It could be the blacks, or the conservatives, or the Muslims, or the Russians, or the Atheists, or the Catholics or the Pacific Islanders. It could be ANYONE. That is the point. The Holocaust happened because a small number of people started spreading a message that a smaller group in their society were the reason for everything that wasn’t going right at large in society and eventually that the smaller group wasn’t even really human, and the masses bought in. When it gets to that point, it gets easier to do evil things to others. We need to spread messages of love and true tolerance in our communities and re-discover the wisdom of “agreeing to disagree.” We also need to work to avoid personal pride and show more humility to others, especially those we disagree with.
In the years since, same as with blacks in America, there have been grifters who have taken the ugly incidents of the past and found a way to make a buck off them. I don’t for a minute feel that the people running these groups push the message of “we need to end Antisemitism” or “we need to stop racism against blacks” actually care about either Jews or blacks or ending prejudice or hate. Actually, I rather believe they need hate to keep going. It keeps their bank accounts full.
Messages of love, respect, tolerance and compassion should always be free and should always come from a place of humility. I also fully support the idea of people of different faiths getting to know one another and maybe even becoming friends. That’s how you actually defeat hate and it starts one person, one family and one community at a time. God bless!

The only Truth is from Our Creator, G-d/Almighty, Master of All via His ToRAW which he gave, revealed to His People, BeNAY YisRoAIL. Rabbi Manis Friedman I am a gentile living in Michigan and I want to tell you that your words/videos have been tremendously valuable in my learning on what it is that we're doing here, shifted my perception on the Anglicized version of the Torah, has helped to set out a path with the time I have left here, and has lent a deeper understanding of Orthodox Jews rather than just being told that Jews are God's people. How does a gentile go about reaching out to the Jewish community to gain broader understanding...temple?

@@Ginger_H I believe there will eventually be a merging of the two. To my knowledge the Jews are here to prepare us and this place for our Father to live with us. I also believe the dispute on whether Yehoshuah is Maschiach or not will be solved at some point. The Jews are an intelligent group of people and I have to value their discernment to some extent. I have faith and feel in my heart that at some point Yehoshuah will be declared Mashiach. If this does not happen then we as individuals will need to examine the evidences or lack there of to support that claim. We have to love one another and approach this subject with love and a desire for truth in our hearts. But that's just me and I am merely a gentile that does not practice my faith nor study the doctrine of my faith as much as I should. A lot of Jews, in contrast to me, do from a young age. Leaves me asking myself "what do they know that I do not". Probably a lot.

Rabbi Manis Friedman answer to this question? SHOCK me :Jews, Muslims, and Christians, the people of the great Abrahamic religions are believing that God is a solitary figure, a single, universal creator, not one God among many. So people continue to believe. This is almost the reason people use to say that God is male and female, he has no gender. That is only needed for reproduction and God doesn’t procreate.
If God made man and did not have a wife, how did God know about male and female? Further, how did God know that the male and female should be married? How did God know that the male would be the leader of the society? Why did God decide to punish the female with pregnancy instead of the male? Scientifically or biologically, why do we have life partners? To reproduce. Why did God command men to live like his son, his daughter, his wife, and his family?
The hope of a heavenly Mother: God identifies himself as male and declares that there is no one above him. Remember that he created men in his own image, and then separated the woman from the man. Male and female were supposed to marry to unify what God had split when he created Eve out of Adam.
At the same time, unless God separates Himself, there is no one above Him to separate Himself. Who has the evidence that God never separated himself to get a wife for his will?

The only purpose to life is to reach our full potential. The number 10 is a series of 1's added to reach 10. The number 10 without the number 1 means nothing.

A person can't have a purpose that doesn't extend outside his own soul. We need to reach others, to serve the one who needs us.
      Otherwise we'll be depressed...

Well. That is certainly true. But isnt sharing our space with others part n parcel with reaching our full potential ? Would it be true to say that if we deny our love for HaShem & deny the ability to love others we then restrict the potential within us ?
The question of " purpose to life" is often answered very subjectively. Is the collective purpose the same as the individual purpose ?
One can go in & out of many definitions to " the purpose to life". But what is the definition which can cover every response ? Is there an incorrect response ?

The purpose of life is to understand the nature of good before we die. because understanding good is understanding the universe, ourselves and God.

The understanding of that which is good can only be understood against that which is evil. The tree of knowledge was not the tree of good but the tree of good evil.
We need to possess the knowledge of both. What we chose to do with that knowledge is what counts. We dont manifest good. We simply refuse to manifest evil. It is choice. The absence of evil is good. But the absence of good is not evil. Light exists within darkness. It is impossible for darkness to exist within light !!
