Perhaps it's a weird choice, but out of the entire sountrack, this one may actually be my favourite. It's fitting that it's a competition stage because the pace is just absolutely relentless. ...as is the bass, lol.
The reverb effect (channel 4) is on A LOT of these tracks, and Imo is one of the most genius ways of giving them that oomph, they have WAY LESS energy without it, it's fantastic!
Think I could run a full 5 lap time attack in like 14 seconds or so when I was kid on this one. It wasn't enough time to hear the whole song! Good memories.
hay que ser genios realmente para inventar está música. Creo que a nadie se le ocurriría semejante éxito, mis respetos y aún más a quien lo subió gracias.
Yes! The national anthem of ROM hackers! Love it. Also, is it just me that's wondering why there's a weird high-pitched note in Channel 3 near the end of the loop? Eh, could be a mistake.
@@CardboardSliver I kinda think that's a glitch that works in a way. Yeah the high pitch is a bit jarring, but to me it feels symbolic of light glistening off the lake's surface
I hadn't realised the bass notes were essentially constant throughout the whole thing. As in the same note. Interesting.
It is a strange choice considering usually the bass follows the chord progressions
@TheRioluStar14 thanks!
I hear you comment so mush
This is so fantastic -- thanks for making this!
I was gonna say I didn't expect to see you here, but in reality, considering your videos, it makes sense
*THERE HE IS, THERE HE IS!*
*The great **-Linkara-** Alex Yard & Knuckles.*
@@aam1826 he credits this in some videos. I’m assuming later on then but he said he was getting his tracks from here. :)
Yo Alex, when you will make your next sonic cd Music theory? Just to know
@@joelberms This year definitely! Probably more than one at that.
0:54 that piercing sound i thought i went deaf lol
1:50
WAIT A MINUTE!! Isn't that the same bass used for Death Egg Zone in Sonic & Knuckles?!
no, i think its a tad different
I'll have to try it out with VOPM...
No, it's a bit different, but it does sound like the same instrument
@@tdawgmaster1729 i think it sounds a little different
I have a very good video explaining this, it is indeed similar → th-cam.com/video/tlj-zl71aAc/w-d-xo.html here you go

1:50 takes off
But
2:23 is where it sails, man.
Agreed
What is with the bass and drum combos always stealing the show in Sonic music?!
Tbh i think they're made first as the foundation of the song
5:35 to 5:52 at 0,75× Speed.
Drums on final boss Sonic 2 are epic.

Something I use to hear coming from my TV set in 1994, now comes out from my 2020 headphones and sounds so familiar yet so new at the same time
Jamais vu and deja Vu at the same time!
MMM that lovely ear wrenching beep at the end though... beautiful

1:10 Wonderfull psg work done by the artist, it absolutely does the Yamaha chanel justice.
that channel 0/PSG slide is the kind of energy i need in my life
Song: Innocent
Channel 1 and DAC alone: Dude ya ready for a sick beat?!
Is it just me, or does the bass look like it's writing out the word "FUN?"
Omg bro your right
"Fun is infinite"
Such a happy track.

Creo que es el único comentario en español que encontré xd
I love that fast bass sound at channel 1
Can’t wait for chrome gadget!
Hard to believe this pedals on C the whole time, it's so full
One of many underrated multiplayer tracks. Love this
I literally just heard this in a ROM hack and couldn’t remember where I’d heard it before then this showed up. You’ve saved me losing my mind!
Was it Sonic megamix you heard it from?
@@g74hz Literally any ROM hack's first stage.
This is amazing. Azure Lake has always been one of my favourite Sonic 3 music tracks so watching this is beautiful!
such a bop.
Glorious track. The best of the multiplayer songs.

It's actually been shown in a music theory video that it was a glitch
@@CardboardSliver interesting, any idea which video?

2:41 sounds so good
Desert Palace, probably the next
Channel 2 and 3 are the backbones of this song
Ok so Channel 2 at 6:10 I thought Did a full rhythm and Not Skip a Pace?,
Or maybe it was Mono from Old TV’s
Channel 1 is hella good
I just noticed that there's a delay echo in this song delay echo is in channel 4 and the main melody is in channel 0
I love this song so much.
Good video :)
IMHO, this is one of the best soundtracks in gaming
Carpathia, did you put this (Azure Lake) in the playlist?
Nice deconstruction man
Channel four is slight delay of channel one correct? So cool.
Awesome!!
I couldn't find this in the sonic 3 Playlist.
aaah eargams
I stopped watching a botw speedrun for this
Who wouldn't?

Maybe. But I think he works at Nintendo :/
@@maxrichards5925 i know he does, that’s why i found it surprising when i heard that familiar serious of notes
@@MidnightIsADog Oh ok. that makes sense.
