Ian, I watched a video of yours from eight years ago because I was looking for a friend who is just beginning to paint and she wanted to learn and I feel you’re an excellent teacher but after watching the video and how you began on your kitchen counter and where you are now I was just so impressed and my hats off to you Ian you’ve come so far you didn’t give up, you had perseverance; so good for you or as you might say in Australia, good on you mate!
Hey I saw your vidios on you tube and l thank you for your guidelines in helping me a beginner to have a better understanding of how to do a painting. Keep up the good work, i thank you for giving me a little confidence. I am from the Caribbean twin island of Trinidad and Tobago.
I love all your work. You are amazing. Thank you so very much for all your help in making me better at painting, which is something I love to do,and with your help I will improve. Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you for explaining really well. Question to you is that two inch blender is it synthetic or natural bristle. I found a nice synthetic with nice points. However many seem really too stiff. Have been looking all week for various ones. I did find a big moppish one that's white for watercolor that's very fine.
Thank you so much! I am going to try this tomorrow. Today was watching & learning how to do trees & thanks to you I can do trees now! Wish I knew when you were going to be live? What time & day? If it works with the Oklahoma time would love to watch your live show.
Man im workin on a beach scene. With fluorescents and glow media. Im learnin to paint. Ive always drawn and 2 times 44 years ago I mixed media painted my drawings. This sky im workin on its a time gitter
I have never used a mist bottle, I have sprayed my dry canvas in days gone by, every person will have different habits don't be discouraged if you cant master it, it will come with time and practice
This is beautiful, but I need to know how do you not have brush marks using that type of brush? I have several of them n I don't use mine because I get brush marks to bad
I'm a real beginner. I've been painting for about six weeks, since Christmas 2021. I should probably save this question for a live session, but this one thing has me puzzled. How do you decide what colors to use? For example, here you have Indian Yellow, Red Gold, Red violet. Why not pick Yellow Ochre, Vermillion, and Magenta? To put it another way, if I don't have a tube of Red Gold or can't find it for sale, what's wrong with using a color like Vermillion mixed with a little yellow? I do have those colors. And mixed, it appears to be a very close color match?
