You are an amazing teacher. I have watched many, many videos trying to learn how to paint clouds. You're the only person who has actually made sense. Love your tutorials.
I love the way you tell us beginners to not doubt ourself. That if you love what you paint is important. That is so true, as a beginner my self this was the best thing I heard, as it gives me the will to continue in my style of painting. At least till I get better.
You were kind enough to welcome me back to your tutorials, and I do appreciate that. I have just watched my second tutorial (I plan to watch every single one of them!) and I loved it as much as I loved the first one. I am so "tuned in" to your tutorials, I have let my daily chores around here fall by the wayside! Yikes! You have such spirit, such talent, such personality, and know just what to say to send us in the right direction as we are learning. You are most definitely a brilliant artist. Many Thanks!
After successfully painting #168 I will follow you on this tutorial. The first turned out really good and hope to just get used to my materials and become better in mixing colors and brush handling. Your tutorials cover a lot and give amazing results in a short time. A must for every beginner acrylogist. And the finished art work looks real good on the wall.
You are the first artist I thought of for painting the ocean, your work is beautiful. I needed your instructions for my next painting. Thank you for all your help
Love hearing your thoughts as you create your spectacularly beautiful paintings. I learn so much from you and your dialogues. Never is it boring but quite intriguing. Thank you so much!! 🖼
Very nice painting Ian, thank you. I live in Santa Barbara California and I LOVE to paint the beach. GREAT tip about the taping the horizon and putting white in there.
Hi Ianapolis, Your tutorials have taken me to another world. I have never held a paint brush and today I am confident bringing up a lovely painting. I am still an amateur, but the one thing I find difficult either with retarder or using acrylic paints is I still get the marks of the paint brush when painting the sky/ sea.
Ive been painting only since feb ,ive watched many many videos but yours are So clear and clear THANK YOU now im going to have a go at your rocky beach ,ha! so ill let you know .Here in uk im obsessed with cornwall and the area of bottalck wher there are mines on the cliff side with the sea below its Fantastic ..But australian scenery will be my task now ..Wish me luck ha!ha!
Another great tutorial. I was thinking about putting rocks on a beach as I have Photo's of one of your Australian beaches that I would like to use as me second only painting -near Sydney; I'm English-. Thank you very much for your clear tips. Easy to follow.
I’ve just recently started acrylic painting as a new hobby and I love your videos! Love your painting and teaching style, yours are the only tutorials I watch! Can’t wait to do this painting today ☺️
You are totally freaking awesome! I love that you have so many beaches to choose from ... the different scenes are really helping me learn how to paint them and not be so afraid you are the best I really appreciate the fact that I can just keep trying diff ones thanks so much and keep them coming I love it!
A really lovely seascape Ian. One of my favourites. I love how you paint Steve's little footprint with your signature. I did notice that ages ago. I love seeing Steve in your videos. Hasn't he grown quickly. He's gorgeous. xx
Oh Thank you so much! You have helped me get the waves right on a project I'm doing for a friend * (a beach scene on her bread box :)! I'm so excited now! I love your videos- Thank you again!
Determined to get water right, so I'm on the edge of my seat, let's go!😛 Love the way you've done the clouds this time; putting the shading on first seems to work well. Definitely try that out.
I thank you for helping me get better acquainted with acrylic painting. I'm used to oils & have had a difficult time blending acrylics. One question wouldn't you put a small reflection of light on the back of the rock at ground level or a small line of lighter paint? You really do water very well. I'm going to be watching your tutorials for sure. Thanks again. t on the back of the rock at ground level or a small line of lighter paint? You really do water very well.
41:40 instead of using tape to fix the horizon line, here's a technique I discovered. Real canvas has grooves. Once I scraped white (oil) on a knife and laid down white lines on the horizon following the groove in the canvass. Perfect luck. It gave the appearance of white caps. A Bob Ross happy accident. I then fluffed the white lines to give the appearance of white caps. It works in the distance, not close up. My painting was acrylic except for the white caps. On another painting I did the knife technique using white and two shades of blue to highlight my water. I used oil on top of acrylic because I preferred the texture for the white caps. The grooves in the canvass inspired that trick.
He notado que todos tus cuadros los haces de 30x42. La pregunta es entre más pequeños menos complicados o es igual que si fuera un cuarto de 60x90 por ejemplo
I went to add to the one you had with the plum tree by adding a rock and maybe some grass at the foot of the tree and put line in the leafs of the plum
Hey Ian on the wall behind you in this video did you do those paintings of the turtle, wolf and eagle? They look awesome and I'd love to check out a video of them if there's any please 😁

Is your background wet or dry when you blend the clouds. They are so soft and beautiful. I wish I could find a brush like the one that you blend with.
it is still wet to allow the blending to happen
I bought acrylic paint from Chinese shop ,I can't blend it properly, is the paint no good or I need some different paint ,sorry to ask.
Super!
