    Hey man, cool video!
    Try the FG knot for your braid/mono connection. It’s much slimmer. Also, over time, the uni hits each guide on the way out each cast. Eventually your line will break just down from the knot from repeated shock of your casts. I used to get in the habit of re-tying my double unis each fishing trip. With the FG you don’t have to do that. It will last indefinitely.

      Thanks Matthew! I just learned the FG a couple weeks ago. Double uni faster and easier to teach the general public. I’ll probably do an FG tutorial vid in a vid. Thanks man!

    Cool stuff, but you should know that when you gill-hook a fish, there is little chance they survive long-term (I love fishing, but this reality makes me a bit sick to my stomach sometimes, especially when I catch something somewhat rare)...

      Release mortality is an unfortunate part of fishing. The fish in question wasn’t really hooked in the gills though, and swam away nicely. Thanks for watching!

    So I was thinking, nice stepping up with the drone action and 'why hasn't he had someone give him a trolling motor yet' - and at 8:35 minutes ........

    Why 'knot' tie the braid right to the jig?

    • @FishinOC
      @FishinOC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No abrasion resistance and they see it easier

    ... 3:13 ... Retrieving and casting a barrel swivel THROUGH your rod guide!? Really!?
    Why even suggest that? A new angler will do it, say they say it on yt then wonder why their guides are damaged.
    .
    FG Knot all the way.

      Hey Bay Boat Life! Didn’t suggest you cast and retrieve through the guides, I said that’s a way of connecting mono to braid and that it can pass through the guides. Amateurs will reel the swivel through the tip and a small swivel that passes will do way less damage. Thanks for watching!
      I’m doing the FG all the time now!

    What's the point I'm going fishing catch a nice fish burning up all that gas in time and not keep any of them does any of y'all do a catch clean and cook and you actually eat the fish that you're catching because it's legal to catch him and eat them I hate watching y'all throw them all back in the water

      Some of us like the the fun of catching and releasing fish too. Check out our flounder catch, clean and cook on the channel.
