Wow, I can completely relate to "...how it must be to live in just one world." I'm a writer, unpublished for now, but on the way. The world is so harsh at times, I too need an alternate, more beautiful place to venture. My stories provided that. 😊

    may i offer a suggestion...
when splitting wood i use a chain strap to bundle several pieces of wood together on the splitting stump to be split all at the same time..a splitting chain strap is a length of dog chain 18" or so with a short bungee attached to one end of the chain and the usual metal hook attached to the other end of the bungee...how to use...place wood to be split 5 or 6 or as many as you can fit on the stump then wrap the chain around the wood stretching and attaching the bungee to the loose end of the chain...then wack away until you have them all split as you need/want...the point is to put many pieces to be split up on the stump all at one time then use the elastic nature of the bungee to hold them all together in a bundle...that way when you split the wood they stay in place offering stability as you split the wood....the chain ensures you dont chop through it...this technique offers personal energy savings and time efficiency as you wont be chasing the wood all over the place and you wont need to bend down to pick up the stranglers all the time and they wont fall in the snow as often...when its time to put the wood in the cart just pick up the entire bundle and place the whole thing in the cart then remove the chain strap... rinse and repeat .

I can relate to so much of what you spoke about regarding having an alternate world you live in through your writing. It's something I've had for over a decade of my life since I was a teenager and cannot imagine ever living without it! Nobody but fellow writers seem to understand this concept but I'm okay with that. It feels exciting to have a place you can go to in your mind no one else knows about -- besides, of course, when you finally publish that world for others to experience:)
Thank you, Kate, for yet another wonderful video. I truly appreciate your willingness to share with the world a little slice of your own life and unique Vermont culture. I too love the wintertime and find that I am the most inspired as a writer when the world outside is cold and dark :)

Those who don't write escape through other means - films, video games, dance, crafts etc., (unfortunately though sometimes the escape is in the form of unhealthy habits like drug abuse). Whatever it is, cultivating a healthy, creative hobby is so important for staying centered in this crazy world!

I agree with you; I don't know how some people just live in one reality, one world. The idea of doing that has never sat well with me.

    Not Hamlet. lol 😜
