These aren't camping knives or food prepers, they are made for a self defense/emergency use, sure there is the tactacool community out there which is fine but they are marketed in that emergency roll so the "in the field use" for this knife isn't picnic time, it would be cutting a seat belt and poping a window to get out of a vehicle in an emergency situation. That is not true unless you live in a state that prohibits you from having a auto they will ship it to a dealer for you to pick up but they don't keep your knife and customer service is awesome I have had microtech knives for years never had a problem
OTF knives provides two things - one hand opening and speed. It's not for food and it's not for dirty environments. It's an expensive toy that you can use for simple projects like opening boxes and cutting tape. Your going to need a much better knife if your going to camp or clean a deer.

thanks for the review. I have a 2020 combat Troodon - most of the time I trigger it now, the blade doesn't fire and lock any more. I have to snap it down to make it lock. It takes 5-8 times for it to retract properly...it was great when it was new...
buy a clone and fix it by urself :D ;) .............and its a great smal (backup) knife u not feel in the pocket ! go to woods or hunting ..... take a fixed
Why would you cut food with a microtech? You obv didnt do your research. To clean inside you use naptha or 99% alchohol. Not water then you spray out with compressed air and put some rem oil in it. No rust. Water is dumb and "food processing" is not what most people do with their edc. My edc rides in my pocket 90% of the time so if i need it in a self defense situation i have a quick sturdy knife i can deploy with 1 hand. Open a box here or there with it and be able to cut open plastic packages and such. Cutting food is wild with a knife that you have to clean and have lubed with gun lube. Enjoy eating chemicals.

It's a fucking switch blade dude
You just gave us 5 minutes worth of info in a 15 minute video. Plus, you want a survival knife from a company that focuses on emergency services. I don't use a paintball gun to hunt with. Reconsider your viewpoint just a bit
I came in the comments to say the same thing. It's a emergency/self defense tool. Buy a full tang mora if you want a survival knife. Cheap, sharp and durable.
Hold up did you say 100 mile bicycle tour?!?!
No trademark logo on either one of the thumbnail knives. Are they real?
Microtech Ultratech is a SELF DEFENSE knife period. If you want a camping, hunting & or fishing knife buy one. My wife says Gordan Ramsey makes excellent knives to cut your apples up buddy.
Most knives require maintenance of some sort.
For a third of the price I bought an automatic buck 110. That knife will probably be buried with me
What knife is it? Name and model?
@@deannadelgado5266 buck 112 automatic 0112BRSA
@@doughnut3639 went and checked it out and that’s the ugliest knife I’ve ever seen.
@@deannadelgado5266 Looks like a pretty classical buck design to me. May not be your style, but that doesn’t make it ugly.
@@travispratt6327 I’m glad you felt that the comment you made was worth your time after being 4 months late.
I have Microtech Ultratech 2 ares and I haw newer newer one mishute. Ofcorse I wud newer use otf knife if my life depends on that knife but one thing I didn't like is paint where clip taching aluminium and that is rubed paint. But it's god knife, for edc I use my Benchmade Osborne 940 and that is just
brick of the knife . And Ultratech is beutiful knife that can bee use for every day. But I also cary little Victorinox Explorer on May belt for everything. I really dont haw intension for stabbing people.
But a self defense knife is made for stabbing just saying.
@@dantesfarm9378 I can stabb someone whit Parker pen.
Microtech has never been known for good customer service.
I heard they won't give your knife back if you aren't military or any government job like that. Is that true? I really want an Exocet from them but I am just a collector. So it's not too big of a deal, but I'm curious if this is true? Knifecenter says the same thing about all OTF on their site which is kinda messed up... Why can't a collector or person like you buy one? Anyway if you or anyone knows let me know what is true. Thanks!
I consider mine for self defense only. I only carry it when Im goin in town. I carry a cheap folder for work. Each knife has its application
OTFs are fidget spinners for adults.
Semi-adults at best.
Use rim oil
They ain't beater knives, for heavy feild use u need solid folder
They ain’t user knife either. Just shown off knife only
Awe gee, my corvette sucks at off-roading....my otf doesn't do the job of a fixed blade. An honest review wouldn't apply a use case to a product that's not designed for it.
Thankfully i got mine to keep in my pocket just in case. I don't like carrying a gun even though i own a few. Too much responsibility. Those are for the car and home
Lol too much responsibility? A knife will get you killed
Most states don’t view knives as self defense weapons so you’ll be in prison
thanks for the review. I have a 2020 combat Troodon - most of the time I trigger it now, the blade doesn't fire and lock any more. I have to snap it down to make it lock. It takes 5-8 times for it to retract properly...it was great when it was new...
Send it in to get fixed. Geesh.
Grandads Kabar... old and reliable piece of high carbon
buy a clone and fix it by urself :D ;) .............and its a great smal (backup) knife u not feel in the pocket ! go to woods or hunting ..... take a fixed
Vespa ripper would be perfect for u
mayb dont cut juicy fruit. guy said same thing like 50 time dont waist yours
Bro - you gotta wipe it off
Ulltratechs are not the best.
Get a gen3 combat Troodon.
same shit
Sounds like you need a buy some kitchen knives lol
Not survival knives dummy
