    Thank you for this great info. I've been looking for an alternative to using resin and the UV light...❤

    From what i’ve found triple thick seems great at first but after a year it becomes tacky and attracts dirt onto whatever you’ve applied it on. I always end up going back to fimo.

      Thanks. I'll take a look at it again in a few months and do a follow up!

    I like the Triple thick best too but I have found over time my beads stick to each other if they are stacked together in a container. So far I have not found anything that will prevent this. Thanks for this review of products.

      Such a Time as This that's a good point. What night work fine for sculpture may not be good for beads and jewellery

    Hello Tony, I have never worked with Polymer Clay, but maybe I will in the future. Thank you so much for testing out all those products to share with us. Obviously I can´t get all of the products here in Germany but I will definitely try that "Fimo" on a cover or ephemera of my (junk) journal. I had some success lately with clear and/or bees wax embossing powder on different surfaces. Unfortunately I have no idea if those will work on Polymer Clay, certainly not on such defined things like your faces. Good luck and fun to all of your further projects! Keep safe, xx and greetings, Gabi

      A tip : you can watch movies at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching a lot of movies these days.

    I’ve been trying to find a UK tester and found your video! Thank you so much for making this. Great video.
    I am currently experimenting with mica powders on polymer clay and as my pieces are going to be for outdoor use, I’m struggling to find a sealer that would work well. 😞 If anyone who reads this can give me a heads up on what sealant to buy for mica powders for outdoor use in the UK I’d be very thankful! 🙏

    Thank you! Do you still have them and can make a "one year later"? :D

      I recently recycled them in a mixed media piece but all of the finishes held up well, with no changes since i made the video.

    How about daler rowney soluble gloss/matt varnish? Does it work on any brands of polymer clay?

    • @CurioByBSpokeDesigns
      @CurioByBSpokeDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t tried it. This was about affordable varnishes that I had to hand.

    I am looking for 2mm coating on a polymer clay textured disc. Would a two part clear resin work? The piece does have a border to hold a depth of 2mm. I am new to polymer clay and hope someone can help me.
    Thank you
    Martin

      You may find UV resin works well with Polymer Clay. Two part resin can get hot and could cause an issue.

      @@CurioByBSpokeDesigns Thanks for your prompt reply. I think I will try two layers of UV Resin to get my thickness. Thank you again

    Do you have to bake the fimo???? And, did you try baking the others after applying???? I wonder if it would make a difference.

    • @CurioByBSpokeDesigns
      @CurioByBSpokeDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      No - none of them need baking on the clay. It's not advisable to bake again once a varnish or a sealer is applied.

    what about a clear art resin coat? i use it on my painted river rocks, will try on fimo ....

    • @CurioByBSpokeDesigns
      @CurioByBSpokeDesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Art resin should work, so should UV resin, but I was looking for cheaper alternatives and things I already had to hand.

    Try gel fingernail polish

    • @CurioByBSpokeDesigns
      @CurioByBSpokeDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think there may be a solvent in Gel polish that may eventually damage the clay
