Wow! Congrats on that foil Karakas and the foil Top! I think this video was a perfect example of the flaws of this type of set though. If you hadn't got extremely lucky with that foil Karakas and hit another value foil rare, this box would have been really terrible. And being pretty terrible will probably be the norm with EMA boxes because it's so loaded with junk rares and rares that only had an inflated price due to scarcity.
Very true. Those two cards were the difference between an awesome and an average box.

i did a case and got no good foil rares lucky... lol i didt notice the counter spells at first... control magic has no target, good in the real world
So, I got three boxes on stand by, open them or let them sit? I am planning to get into vintage these days, something I should have done when I started a long time ago(when it was still $15 to get duals). I was thinking to sit and either trade up and sell. The fact that Force is a mythic, and I could buy 10 packs of Alliances for around $200-250 and get multiple uncommon Forces is keeping me from a solid decision to open.
So, wait and sell/trade or open, that is the big question. I have been investing in boxes and keeping them sealed for about a year now, but like most players, I LOVE cracking packs. What do you guys think?
a playset of FoW is less than the price of a box, if your intent was to "get into vintage" you're going about it poorly. Buy the cards you need, speculate on sealed product for the long game (which - as this set can provide isn't a viable strategy on cards that can be reprinted). Buy reserved list cards. Do you have Power yet?..... cause, uh, if the price tag of FoW is your roadblock, you're going to have a real bad time when you see what a Mox or Recall costs. Maybe you're using Vintage incorrectly? Eternal is non-rotating formats, Vintage is a specific format - one where decks routinely costs over 10k in paper.

so i have seen boxes now wiht a value of 150 - 200 and boxes with a value of 450 - 600

2-23 were horrible packs... are you kidding me!? you got so many of the good rares and ontop of that you got some of the best pulls possible. it's bad to wish bad luck onto other people, but my god...

I'm not familar with old formats. Why is Karakas so expensive? Its literally a plains with one extra effect. Or is it used in commander more?
It is not legal in commander, because everyone would have their commanders bounced all the time, haha. I'm with you though, I don't get why it is so expensive.. I would be interesting in knowing as well form someone who knows vintage/legacy more.

In Legacy though, many creatures cheated into play (by Show and Tell or Sneak Attack, or reanimated) are Legends: Griselbrand, Emrakul, Elesh Norn, and there are few more popular Legends worth bouncing and replaying like Vendillion Clique or Venser, Shaper Savant. So you can either get value or have cheap answer to hard to deal creature, and basically make opponent unable to win unless they kill Karakas.
