THE PENCIL DRAWING TOOK MY BREATH AWAY.

I'm not interested in art for art itself. I look for art that shows me realistic situations, & that pencil drawing did it for me too!

Once again, I vehemently disagree with the judges' selections.
I think I'll just turn off each episode before the final selections are made and just enjoy seeing each artist's final work.

The only thing I can be sure of with this show is that my pick is never the same as the judges'. And the judges will always pick what i consider to be the worst of the top 3.

Every time it happens ,the judges go for quirky ,and not the best portrait.

Why is it that pencil drawings never get through?
I would love to see a painting from 24.03! Beautiful moment!

Neequaye came across as very unfriendly.
Can’t understand why Jamael chose his portrait when the other two had a lot more likeness to them.

How to get selected by those judges: just dont bother to draw the hair and you will get through to finals!

I wish the lady Curator would really keep her half hidden prejudices to herself.

I agree. It's rude to take a picture of the sitter than completely ignore her/him. Actually, in another episode, one of the sitters hinted at this.

    Anny Lee?
    A joke!

They used to give them comfortable chairs. These hard chairs look brutal for the sitters.

My favorites were the portrait with the flowers and the one with the diamond earring. Not impressed with the finalist who didn't finish the hair or the winning portrait because the face is too distorted and the bottom wasn't resolved. Other artists did a much better job of capturing the likeness of their sitters.

Looked so amateurish, judges tend to choose the most wacky and unlikely. Let’s face it, folks, we are uncool.

I’m just curious about why actors and actresses are held in such high esteem when they are introduced to the artists. It’s baffling. After all, what they do is pretend to be other people. Why do we, as a society value this so much?

Those who do not worship preforming are out changing their world. But our human ego wants to be noticed, and we respond to that. But it's gotten to a very ridiculous degree, falling over entertainers.

The question is, have you been on stage or in front of the camera? Pretending is far from easy.
And keep in mind, these are not Americans. They don't aim to be stars, be they RADA trained or not - it is not part of the culture in the UK.
But the answer to why actors in the UK are so highly regarded can be typified in poking Dame Judi Dench and getting her to recite Shakespeare, or having Idris Elba consult psychopath Ruth Wilson about a serial killer, Ian McKellen making nonsense with Patrick Stewart in Waiting for Godot ( I saw that- brilliant).
High or low art is still art and should be marked, I think.

Acting can be terrifying and a TON of work! Weeks and months running lines, learning who your character is, how they relate to the others in the movie/show/ play/ etc.. then… being judged by then entire world for your work. I had many great friends as actors on stage and it was unreal the work they put into it. Many actors and actresses deserve recognition. It’s hard work really trying to become someone else convincingly and in front of the world.

    • @lisamarlow8408

      It’s simple - recognition

    • @lisamarlow8408
      @lisamarlow8408 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

I believe it’s simple recognition- people love things that they can connect with and it does take artistic talent to portray and more to act.
