    Your videos are golden and I love that you talk about the games for a bit, and I can feel you personally loved some of them across your videos. Keep doing this great work!

      Thanks! I kinda figured that there's plenty enough "100 games in 10 minutes" out there and that they didn't personally do it for me. :)

      @@OldAndNewVideoGames I agree. Your method is much better than the silent videos that merely shuffle through a few seconds of game footage. You provide personality and some good information about each title, making the entire experience just that much more pleasant as well as interesting.

      @@Tony_Cardoza Thanks! That was the idea. A magazine preview but in a video form. Sometimes a bit more personal as I tend to go off topic quite often. ;)

    1995 was my favourite year, as there were more "use your brain" games, rather than arcade, which went more and more to consoles. EF2000, for example, had some of the best enemy AI of any PC game I played up to that point. You just didn't see titles like that on console!

      Well, at the time I don't believe that the consoles could really give the justice to those more serious simulations. They were great for various types of arcade games, but for the simulations/strategies/managers outside of few exceptions, they just lacked reasonable controls and raw processing power.

    An interesting tidbit about FX Fighter is that it was originally created as Super Nintendo game using the on cart Super FX chip (hence the name) like Starfox. However development of the SNES version was stopped by Nintendo and Argonaut repurposed the game for PC upgrading the graphics and experimenting with dedicated graphic cards support. That's why the gameplay feels so bland since it was designed to accomodate the limited hardware of the SNES+Super FX chip and it wasn't changed too much.

      That actually is interesting. I may quote you in the future. Thanks! :)

    Classic TH-cam forcing that song in Full Throttle to be silenced.

      In all videos I have Bubble Bobble, I have to mute it. Otherwise they get flagged. xD

    So many great memories in one video. I couldn't list that many if I would take everything since 2010 into a video.

    • @OldAndNewVideoGames

      I'm glad you liked it! Did you saw the remaining 9 of the series yet? I bet there's plenty of awesome games in them too. :)

      @@OldAndNewVideoGames I'm watching them in order, of course. The previous videos also had nostalgic games, especially the Anima ones, but this here was the one that resonated the most with my experience, probably because this year was full of games that hit the mark regarding my taste.

    • @OldAndNewVideoGames

      @@Lex-vd2is 1995 was a year I finally moved to PC. But I was always a collector and a gamer at heart, so I had no issues re-playing older games, even those running in CGA/EGA. And that allowed me to appreciate both Amiga compared to these, and then later on VGA titles. But yeah, some years really are more iconic for each platform more than others. :)

      @@OldAndNewVideoGames Growing up with C64, Amiga and early PC gaming gave me a certain appreciation for the graphics of the time. Even today I play games like X-Com, Master of Orion, Ravenloft or Colonization without them feeling old, and not just for nostalgia reasons. Though some Quality of Life features of modern gaming would be nice in certain games. :D

    • @OldAndNewVideoGames
      @OldAndNewVideoGames  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Lex-vd2is Oh I get that. I haven't in the last 4-5 years, but before, I used to re-play a whole campaign of original X-Com every single year in January. Also, not for the nostalgia only, it's just a really good game. And yeah, I've played newer ones to death. I think I've close to 3000 hours in the first and around 1000 in the second. xD

    Fun fact: Turrican 2's menu music is actually an 8-bit version of a track from the 1986 The Transformers: The Movie!

    Thank you for creating these videos. Brings back the nostalgia from the early days of pc gaming. I wanted to play them all but I was in school so had no money to buy.

      My pleasure! :)
      You know, you could be playing these games today. DOSBox is not that tough to use, and if you want something even easier, there's always eXoDOS, a package that literally allows for launching of all these as if they were console games.

    today the need for speed is a zombie franchise IMO, it's neither alive nor dead, I haven't even touched one since Carbon and it has been far surpassed by Forza series especially Horizon spin off when it comes to the arcade one.

    • @OldAndNewVideoGames
      @OldAndNewVideoGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly, I have to agree. I played both Undergrounds, Carbon and the 2015-ish one simply called Need for Speed, but all the other ones just seem either uninspired or even plain unnecessary.
