I always look up songs from games I played many years ago, it brings back the nostalgia right in your face, sometimes it's so bad you just wanna cry because of the fact that everything was better back in the day :')
SAME HERE! I'm listening to music from games I played in my childhood, and everyone thinks that's weird! Thank goodness someone else thinks like me! People never really think that the music is actually really good, and it sometimes just brings tears to my eyes.
Those memories are false dreams. they promise a better life, yet more often than not, we don't admit to ourselves that if we returned to that time right now....we'd be bored and frustrated by the restrictions. Going back to being an 8 year old in 2001 might seem cool but.....
I can't find words to describe this track. Every time I hear it, I feel like rising off the ground and floating in zero gravity, seeing myself in clear blue sky or under crystal clear blue water with massive single bubbles and dolphins. This song takes you to a whole new world!!
I remember playing SC4 one day...It was the year 2050. Then I destroyed the city with meteors and aliens and volcanos and earthquakes and more meteors... I turned the speed on "3x fast" until it got to the year 3000. Until then, I raised the land to its maximum, then carved out a huge, mile deep canyon. I kept sending meteors down. Then this song played, and tears nearly came to my eyes- I was like "Jesus Christ... I'm dead...Mom's dead..Dad's dead...Everyone's dead..."
I played this game when i was 5 or 6 like 600 hours and im 16 right now. Idk why but the songs you listened when you were a child sticks in your mind forever. I grew up with nfs underground and with this masterpiece. :')
Got to love the bit at 02:24 sounds so powerful. I would love to go to the moon and look back at the earth listening to this track. An astronaut once said, "we went out to discover the moon but we discovered the earth"
Honestly, I never would have connected this music to SimCity just because of how godly it is, no pun intended. Whenever I'm deep in thought, reminiscing about the past, thinking about the future, the way things are, the way things were, trying to find truth from fiction. This song feels like that.
Damn I looped this music so many times... 02:23 that moment still gives me chills ! the first time I launched this game I had this music and I have never had anymore such that feeling of being a god with full power on absolutely everything ! I miss sim city
Crystal clear blue ocean, a coral reef full of marine life, undisturbed by mankind, bright sunlight rippling through the waves, dolphins racing each other.
I bought my first version of SC4 in 2003,....then a newer version in 2014. I play it on my Mac. In 2003, I played for days on end,....after recovering from a heart attack. The music is still stuck in my brain. I'm 68, and I still play the game,...I was 50 in 2003. My background is in the Arts, & sculpture.
This song might sound like Above the Clouds at the beginning, but it gets so much better as you progress. I wish I had realized how good this song was sooner.
EqualsCubed Gaming and gouged my eyes out, took some teeth, C-punched my throat, slapped my ass and gave me a kiss on the cheek-I loved it. It happens every time.
this reminds me of some beautifull view of a water, mountains and sun area....just sit on the hilltop and watch the rising sun and how tha colors change U know...
Easily the best track from Simcity 4, it just keeps on going. "Oh yeah you think I'm finished BUT WAIT I'M GONNA ROAR AT YOU AGAIN haha you like that shit don't you HERE'S ANOTHER SYNTHETIC ROAR"
I made a music mix of some of the Simcity musics and a couple of others and ate magic mushrooms. Overall the trip wasn't too good but during this song particulary went deep and felt so peaceful. In particular at the mid section when the sound goes so low and deep I really, well sorry, can't find words to explain...
Despite home PC's being slower and harder to work around in the 90s there were lots more to do especially offline. You weren't tied or forced to be tied. Now it's my way or hit the highway. Pretty much setting up of the one world chip system. Hey that sounds like the beast system 666.
Am I the only one who think the God mode soundtrack sounds a little bit like Mass Effect soundtrack? I'm even planning to add some of the Mass Effect soundtrack to Sim City 4 when the CD I ordered arrive!
If this doesn't play when I walk into heaven, I'm not dying
That's it. That's the best comment ever. We can all go home now. Nothing will ever top that.
If I don't become god or mayor after I die I will file bankruptcy.

Troy Wright sounds like something said in a Ted talk.
Amen, my friend. Takes you RIGHT back. Truly incredible and emotional experience.
Troy Wright bullshit. Things really were better.
Sim City 3000 and Sim City 4 have really AMAZING OST. And this song is really good for meditation…

This screams early 2000s
No, its totally unique only sim city 4 achieved this style, unmatched and underrated.
@@Fernandosampaio_You both right
Actually it screams of Brian Eno

One of the first songs I’ve heard when I played this game for the first time. I knew I was in for a treat, god I miss Maxis.
Just makes you think of the meaning of life and what is out in the universe. :) great feeling

This sounds like the stuff they play in the background of science museums
or at a space funeral
Or in the Stanley Parable Happy Room.
I want to travel to Japan and listen to this song!
Would be perfect for Tokyo during the night on the skyscraper rooftops :)

Infinite Space
This song is so relaxing and calming im melting
I was so mesmerized by this soundtrack, back when the trailer for this game first released, in 2003. Then....I actually bought and played it.... :')
This is the sound of being on the surface of Triton with Neptune's massive, sky filling disk rising above the horizon.
Wow. Very beautiful.
The best soundtrack of the game !
this reminds me of some beautifull view of a water, mountains and sun area....just sit on the hilltop and watch the rising sun and how tha colors change U know...
my fantasy goes out of limits with this song.....i dont know what to feel anymore.....
Gives off the same vibes as the day of night from silent hill 2
This song is beautiful.
Hell yeah! I loved this game as a youngling
This makes me think of being underwater in the Arctic and seeing the Northern Lights through the water.
The advert before this video was for the 'best of Dubstep - 2011'
I think their advertisement algorithm might need some review...
My favorite track in the game.
2:22 makes me want to build a jumbo airport on Cities Skylines (I know this is SC4, but I love listening to this Sountrack while playing CS)
I'm floating away...
this song is perfec when you see large green field full with bird, batterfly and flowers
Mesmerizing '-'
Easily the best track from Simcity 4, it just keeps on going.
"Oh yeah you think I'm finished BUT WAIT I'M GONNA ROAR AT YOU AGAIN haha you like that shit don't you HERE'S ANOTHER SYNTHETIC ROAR"
Such A fitting title.
@RippleAffectMedia wow! i sure would like to see that,
sounds beautiful!
The King Of Disappointment was dethroned by a new one. Didn't think it was possible.
GG EA
reminds me of that one cutscene on modern warfare 2, where your in
space and Price's EMP goes off... good times
sims2mw i see it too.
Sounds like eargasm.
Makes me wonder about other planets, then other solar systems, then the Galaxy, then other galaxies, then--- *head explodes*
Wonderful!
THIS IS AMAZIIIIIIIING!
Makes me think of Heaven...
i love it
@Dudeman162 They play this song in the background on interview clips with the Spore developers.
the sounds of haven to god and the angels afther life

Ahh yes the freedom of godmode,as you form plateaus and scrape the ground to make valleys and hold your mouse to instantly grow trees...
Where did they go wrong...

i listen to this while playing space engine
@shevyblaze Sadly, space is in a vacuum, hence sound cannot travel in the absence of matter :P
Unless they bring an iPod along xD
ah-mazing

Try mushrooms, no really.

Far Side Virtual before Far Side Virtual
If I get to heaven and I don’t hear this I’m going to be so disappointed
It's a damn shame, we'll probably never get a Sim City 5. A true Sim City, not that watered down Sim City Society
Cities Skylines, with this soundtrack
Morgan Freeman talking about anything over this.
