Some things never change. The battle between Hong Kong and Singapore to attract global business talent might just be one of them.
Five years after Bloomberg first created its guide for expatriates considering which of the two cities to live and work in, here’s a fresh look at some of the key factors in this long-running rivalry.
It’s been a period of seismic upheavals. The Covid-19 pandemic upended expectations about work, travel and healthcare just about everywhere. Hong Kong has been transformed by China’s expansive clampdown on dissent, while Singapore politics are shifting as anxiety over inequality mounts. And looming ahead is a potential slowdown in the global economy.

Parking is free in private condominium and costS$100 per month at public housing car park, guaranteed available

Not necessarily, 'Expat' is used for anybody to describe themselves. For example, if YOU are Singaporean, but you live in France, you are a Singaporean expat. Anybody can use the term 'expat' as it's a self-referential word.

I am telling you something Singaporean, I love Malaysia so much, because there are cheap price, good food, and kind peoples, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila and Bangkok are Cosmopolitan city in Asia but Singaporean, Hongkonese and Filipino are not kind, not sweetest and disrespectful with walking very careless. Think about that point.
But I also found Chinese from Mainland are do the same thing like Hongkongese, shame on Mainland China.
But the most shocking are leaping line in the same when we are queueing.

Okay guys, stop this century old debate, I was an American expat in HK, moved to Singapore before Covid and now I’m moving back to Hong Kong. In no ways Singapore can even remotely compete with Hong Kong in the following categories: freedom of speech, rule of law, westernization, transportation, cultural, charm n personality of the locals, democratic values, FOOOOOD, weather, things to do, size of landmass, ease of travel with the region etc and the list goes on… as for some local Singaporeans acting or behaving like British, Australian or American, when in fact they never even been to the UK, Australia or the US. In America the term is called “self hatred” some Singaporeans jus tryin to hard to be anything that they are not. These folks have ZERO of my respect, I actually respect more of the locals who speak Singlish that are at least true to themselves.

Should have been real about how Hong Kong was built as Bretton Woods investments as a free-market capitalist model with an exceptional smuggling port providing the world blood-diamonds and conflict minerals boosting the dull currency HK dollar tied to the economic hitman currency US dollar. To the financially educated, foreign investment hedge funds also built Hong Kong's shiny buildings as a money laundering hub with real estate investments in shoebox sized apartments the working class expats are forced to pay high rental for while at the same time charging the locals to breathe in the city. The only thing that stopped wealthier expats from supporting low-tax haven Singapore to begin with, is that the Singapore Government has always been strict with money laundering regulations on foreign investments. Now the Hong Kong national security laws has just copied Singapore with monitoring international foreign investments to not continue to exploit the city's economy. Just like Bloomberg didn't survive in Singapore, Bloomberg can no longer use low-tax haven Hong Kong to hide expats, foreign investment taxes from their high-taxed democratic government countries.

Meanwhile in the REAL WORLD to the FINANCIALLY EDUCATED, if you're happy to dish out 70% of your income for rental for a shoebox sized apartment choose Hong Kong. Those who are living in financial struggles in their CORPOCRACY democratic countries are too in debt to have the privilege of travels to experience the rest of the world - which is why you're oblivious to the fact that Hong Kong has always been ranked as one of the most expensive city's in the world to live in with UK hedge fund investments boosting the HK dollar tied to the US dollar charging Hong Kongers to breath in the city!
FINANCIAL EDUCATION: While the poorly educated think the Fragrant Harbour Hong Kong was built on the Queen of England's fairy dust, to the FINANCIALLY EDUCATED the resource-poor Hong Kong was built by Bretton Woods investments as a free-market capitalist model and exceptional smuggling port providing the world blood-diamonds and conflict minerals which is how the dull currency HK dollar tied to the economic hitman currency US dollar works!
      * The resource-poor United States war instigator, genocidal instigator, economic hitman currency US dollar forced on resource-based countries as the world's reserve currency giving the over $30 trillion federal debit-stressed Americans capitalist life does not work on the fairy dust as you think 🤣🤣🤣
If you were financially educated, you would know a Democratic Government System is whereby financial corporations control economies which is why Americans in the United States are just surviving financially while foreigners in the United States are billionaires hiding their investment taxes in low-tax haven Hong Kong as the international financial hub bridge. Singapore is too Draconian with money laundering regulations.
