I guarantee you're not the only chef who forgets things on TH-cam. You're just the only one who has the balls to own up to it. All the rest edit that stuff out. Well, ALMOST all the rest. There are a few others that don't. Pretty much the only ones I watch, as a result. Because I only respect those who can admit when they goofed up, and do so graciously. So, hats off to you Chef JP.
Chef, I had tough last 12 months and I discovered this channel few weeks ago. Got me out of depression and I got will and urge to cook. Thank you, you are cooking with passion and your videos make my day. I started buying ingredients and making dish after work is highlight of my day and something I look forward to :)
If you ever want to see normal people like you and me tear food like a work of art, go to a McDonald’s in Japan. You’ll be upset because you won’t have any cheese paper on the wrapper, and your single pickle will be right in the center of the burger. And everything will look like the image that made you want to get McDonald’s at Japan in the first place.
Constantly inspired by Chef’s subtle life lessons intertwined in his cooking: “Don’t touch it. Don’t go playing with it. Don’t play with it. You know a lot people tell ya you gotta play with it. No. I’m telling you you don’t. Leave it alone. Leave it alone.” Thank you Chef💚
I love how you tell people it's okay not to have stuff and do their best. I have made some of my most delicious meals with what I decided to throw together.
Chef, your videos are never too long. I could sit and watch you cook for hours. In fact, in the world of 5 second clips that we now live in, I very much appreciate you taking the time to show everyone how to actually cook! 😁
Hello Chef JP. I made your Steak Burrito for dinner tonight. It was delicious, But my skirt steak was too thick. After cooking and resting, when I sliced into it, the centre was very “rear” and blue in some places. I had to put it back into the pan and cook it longer. After the second time, It was still rear, but we ate it anyway. Fortunately, my husband wasn’t here, because he wouldn’t have eaten it. He doesn’t like beef that is still “mooing” on his plate. lol. I don’t know if the meat was inner or outer skirt. By the way JP, I live in NSW, Australia. I only found your channel a few months ago, and get lots of giggles from you. I have also made your chocolate moose yum, yum, yum and the clarified butter. I grew up on a dairy farm in Victoria, and nothing BEATS BUTTER.
I lnow I have to make this because, for the first time in my long history of watching cooking, I have the exact ingredients for the aioli sauce. Duke’s mayo, Daisey sour cream, Grey Poupon, and Marina harissa. Exact! Those veg looked wonderful! We love Chef Jean-Pierre!
This evening in Dallas, I made your dish for ten at my home. Every single one of the guests said it was the best burrito they had ever had! "How did you learn this?" they asked. Chef JP. I made other vegetables in the wok on the side Onyo is always number 1! I would love a recipe for rice from Spain. Here it is, junk. Quack tomato sauce and salt. Not right. Prime Flank Steak was all I had but it worked like you said it would. Perfect outcome. I took it out after measuring the temperature carefully and 132F. Medium Rare (you never know what people like). They could not understand why the sauce was so good. Heh Heh He. Trade secret! They did not know (nor did I) what aioli sauce was. Not that many Americans cook at home anymore preferring to eat junk food. I haven't gone to a restaurant in 1.5 years! Once I found your channel it changed my life. Now I do all the cooking. Everyone else who comes I say, "Get outta my kitchen!: Or as you say, "You people go set the table." Then I can cook. In addition to cool recipes, you have taught me very many BASIC skills that I never have known. I have all the knives, pots, oils, and seasonings you suggest. You teach us to THINK. You are not a robot. Neither am I. THINK! Does it taste nice? No? Try again! After four times you say one is a chef on that recipe. We love you, Chef!
I love learning from you. If you make a mistake and show it, beginners like me feel less intimidated. I hope that makes sense 🤷🏼♀️ that burrito looks wonderful!
The man is wonderful - no matter how tired I am and late it is when I watch - I wanna go cook whatever he's cooking. I'm grinding my own burger meat now, I have his pots, made chicken and beef stock, and I'm having a ball cooking.
I got into cooking from watching my mom who recently passed away. I got excited about cooking watching Alton Brown. Now I'm honing my skills and convinced I can be a great home chef from watching you Chef JP. Thank you for putting out all this great content. I love how you explain that cooking is simple and easy and something not to stress about. I'm truly in my happy place when I'm cooking an amazing meal for my loved ones.
A half-Italian French chef in America makes a pepper steak burrito with harissa aioli (made with Duke's) and brie? That's like 6 cuisines fused together, and I want to lick the screen. I can't wait to make these.
I love this channel. As great as chef J-P is, it’s worth pointing out the production value on this channel is outstanding too. How can you not laugh a little when chef is cleaning off his cutting board and the close up of his face when he eats the scrap of steak? That’s priceless

You have really raised the quality of our meals, and I daily field this question from my husband--what Chef Jean-Pierre teach you today 'cause the aroma is wonderful! I would like to share an observation you might want to pass along to your viewers. I recognize there are no children in your kitchen when you are making the videos. However, many home cooks have little ones underfoot, especially when they're hungry and sniffing the wonderful smells your recipes create. For their safety, it's important the pan handles be turned toward the range and never extending over the edge and accessible to the kids. Thank you, Chef, for the cooking lessons and recipes. My family are big fans!
It's fair to say, most people see something like this and think it's not worth it to do all this for yourself. Not only is it worth it, not only once you get it down to a routine this will be way easier and better than microwaving something, but you will be eager to share it with others.
The way you cut and placed that meat on top of the brie... at an angle... is the difference between a chef and a cook. You elevated that dish to a much higher level. Truly elegant. Thank you chef. I also learned how simple it is to make an aioli.
I made these and they are wonderful! I had 2 skirt steaks each about the size of a saucer. I cooked 1 of them to med rare and 1 to medium. The medium rare was amazing! The medium while still very tasty wasn’t as good as the medium rare. Thanks Chef.
I love how neat and clean you are as a chef and how you take time to make food look neat and proper. Too many messy chefs on TH-cam. Thank you! You’re an inspiration ❤
Fantastic stuff, chef! Tip from a Texan: I like to steam the tortilla for just a few seconds before wrapping the burrito--a wire screen over a skillet of barely simmering water for about 5 seconds on each side--so that the stiff tortilla doesn't crack when it's folded over. If it's good in a sandwich, it's better in a burrito, y'all!

If you start using the mild bell peppers, I am going to cuss at the monitor and your burrito and you. ...I am now cussing at the monitor.
