Nate is playing his butt as usual. what most don't know is that he is re-harmonizing a bartok string quartet and an earth wind and fire song simultaneously in his mind while playing Tim's music
i love how this drummer during the keys solo basically goes "you wanna go fly? let's do it!" nothing better than musicians pushing eachother and making eachother sound better like this. that's why improvisation is such an important part of music. creating energy
Likewise LOL, I can relate! He looks like a child at the kit, imagination pouring out of his skull. Simplicity, unpredictability, and unadulterated emotion flapping all over the place. Total class.
The way he plays is incredible. It’s groovy, but has so many unusual variations. His style is instantly recognizable, which I think is the highest compliment to a musician: a unique “voice”
In college Tim played this solo and after class we all ran over and said "wow Tim, that thing in the middle... that was amazing! what did you do?" He said "I don't know. I got lost and just kind of found my way back." Thanks for the great story and the inspiration.
What a killin band, the chemistry and groove and also the mutual listening and conversational thing allowed for some startling moments, not just the obviously insane solos by all but the way the play together and support each other, real great. Thanks for sharing.
Off all the music clips I go back to this is an exception, I can't get away from it . Four brilliant players at their zenith. That nearby bloke made me thirsty too, sipping his beer!
I feel the same about this combination, I listen over and over, hope Tim Miller comes back to NYC soon. This gig was the highlight of my last visit here...
I envy you , seeing the gig. Thanks for putting it up - remarkable quality considering. I UK I have given up on many gigs because of constant chatter by folk who will regale friends with who they've gone to see, but then natter all the time.
Tim is such an intense player. the way he plays alternate changes in flight like this is just beastly. And the guys in this group really bring some serious fire. The groove on this is so thicc.
These musicians are new to me, and what a great sound they make together. A beautiful number with a driving drum kits and tasteful playing surrounding that rhythm. Wonderful. I’ll have to investigate further. I love the old clock on the wall, but they should maybe keep their eyes on that ceiling as it looks like it might fall in anytime and might be a biological problem! 😁
Special guest: Putin, on the Drums. Hahahahaha No offense to the drummer, but he looks a lot like him. He is awesome, i liked the improvisation. Tim Miller is one of the best right now.
The drumming is off the charts. Would've been fascinating to see where Allan would've gone with this. There probably would have been any roof left, that's for sure.
Nate seems to be enjoying just plain blowing on his main instrument. The big smiles contrast the look on the WK no-note-is-right-no-note-is-wrong bass gig. (Side note - anyone else get a brief Hymn of the 7th Galaxy vibe on the piano solo?)

Can you specify what pieces of music 😅
😂😂😂
Clicked on this to listen to Tim Miller. Nate Wood is inspirational.
Tim keeps the flame of Allan Holdsworth alive! Unbelievable mastership!
Thanks for watching. His music is so beautiful and expressive.
absolutely in that same ethereal sphere Tim is a tremendous player
Thumbs up to Nate who is sight reading the music...
good job

It happens @4:08. Nate goes off into tripalafibidabopada time.
He looks like a really friendly, cuddly Vladimir Putin
that drummer jams!
@@johnferngrove4083 exactly... Putin lifted the band sound so awesomely...
the keyboard shriek around 5:42 seems to trigger Nate up a notch
Oh MAAN! Nate Woods drumming is so good!! It always just has me laughing hysterically with disbelief!
I've been watching this every night for the past week. Laughter indeed. Laughter out of joy and astonishment. Back to the practice room!
Likewise LOL, I can relate! He looks like a child at the kit, imagination pouring out of his skull. Simplicity, unpredictability, and unadulterated emotion flapping all over the place. Total class.

That ceiling though..
I love how Tim is partially entranced while also looking like he’s trying to hold onto a bullet train at the same time. Loving every minute of it.
55 BAR!!...no more!! Been to many a place...but that was home!!!!!!!!!!!
In college Tim played this solo and after class we all ran over and said "wow Tim, that thing in the middle... that was amazing! what did you do?" He said "I don't know. I got lost and just kind of found my way back." Thanks for the great story and the inspiration.
Santiago Bosch on keys! Incredible solo.
…and his comping on that keys solo was mad.Great chord voicings!Evan killed it
Nate Wood is probably 1 of the worlds greatest drummers !
Yeah deffo hang out up there with the other greats. He's reading this shit so well. Doesn't seem like he's played these tunes before that night.
Nate Wood : a fish in water. So amazing to feel the enthusiasm. Inspirational indeed! ;-)
What a killin band, the chemistry and groove and also the mutual listening and conversational thing allowed for some startling moments, not just the obviously insane solos by all but the way the play together and support each other, real great. Thanks for sharing.
One of my fav performances I watch this video often!!!
Everybody looks like somebody. To me, Nate looks like an amazing drummer, firmly in the driver's seat, simply killin' it.
That's right. Also I once chatted with him as just a fan, and he was friendly and gracious. Weary of seeing that Russian guys name, anywhere.
This was pretty great - thanks
Nate Wood’s Totoro shirt is legendary

Peter Koopman yes it is Peter

I've found a new favourite drummer
Phil Anderson best drummer ever

Yeah Putin's a badass
putin couldn't even drum a house beat ... nate wood could with just his thumb
and now it's a few months later...... and I can't stop listening to fOUR
Tim is such an intense player. the way he plays alternate changes in flight like this is just beastly.

Omg Nate Wood
100% does not ever get any better than this!!!
No way, got into Tim and I’m a massive Evan Marien fan
Thank you for posting this incredible performance
this is such a vibe!!!
Nate transforms this track. The original is already great, but it's something else here and I really like it.

@@TheManuelpuerta "New York"
@@valuablesandwich actually the tune is "Electric" (?)
@@TheManuelpuerta oh damn! I could've sworn this was New York... I hear you. Thanks for the clarification!
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
That bass solo!
That Kiesel guitar looks gorgeous!!!
Ah, playing Kiesel now. Last I saw he had a custom made ergonomic Breadwinner looking axe. This Kiesel looks much nicer.
I love it.
A must visit place on check... only to realize it's already closed down. Damn
Sensational Tim and band. Can't wait to hear you in Dublin.
Nate really understands and supports Tim well. Awesome stuff.
Such joy in this performance.
Yes, I’ll have the Chicken Fingers with Honey Mustard and a transcription of everything the guitarist played. Thank you.
What a great performance by all four players, particularly the drummer. The main theme is beautiful + moving.
Tim Miller's tonal vocabulary is just insane
Many open chords on the intro, I thought it was a melodic line. Awesome performance sir Tim
Sick group. Evan Marien on bass.
Marien...
@@artofbrass Yup. Typo. Thanks
MAN THAT DRUMMER KICK ASS MAN!!!!!!! HOLY SMOKE!!!
Just one of the best
FANtastic!!!

At 4:26-4:36, Santiago Bosch just kills ! Lovely pattern wandering ...

Santiago Bosch 😀👍🎹😀👏🏻👏🏻🙌🙏🏻
10 seconds in and Nate wood already blowing my mind

Great tune and playing by all, Tim tore the roof off!
peter mongaya hogsholm By the looks of that ceiling, I would say so.
fuck, this feels good... thanks!
Drummer's putin a lot of work
Remember kids, don't let the neck of your guitar stick out the window of the cab on the way to your gig...
thank you very much for this upload... you have no idea how i much i value these footage.
Warm wishes from Mauritius !
keep it up !😍😍😍🤗🤗🤗
Beautifull them
That drummer is a monster!
Wow what a freak show ! And what a strange kinda underground location...the ceiling looks quite dangerous
The beauty of NYC🥴
i have to be here in regular intervals..
""the drummer"""" (and the ceiling caught my attention as well)
Special guest: Putin, on the Drums. Hahahahaha
No offense to the drummer, but he looks a lot like him. He is awesome, i liked the improvisation.
Tim Miller is one of the best right now.
WOW
Brilliant...
Santiago is awesomw
NICE JOB
Nate wood reading like a fucking wizard
That. Drummer. 😲
'Love the ceiling.

Wicked good.
That ceiling has a serious damp issue! Lucky that killer music didn’t bring down the place. 🙃
DAMN
Waaaaaaw. Amazin'
Awesome! what the name of the song?
7:01 Nate Wood just casually whacking that out with one hand.
kiesel for the win thanks tim for being thoughtful
OK OK EVERYONE IS KICKING ASS!!!!
Tim is so fucking awesome he got underserved. Sad but true.
It looks like a Star Trek convention
???
That's speaks more about your hilariously narrow worldview than anything else.
@@bowenyan5377 I was just kidding, obsiousely I love them :)
Jean-Luc Wood on drums...;-)
jajajjajaja yesssssssssss !!!!!

Which camera did you use for recoding this video ?? Thanks for upload !

@@JosephPerkinsMusic Thanks man :)
Give me the skinny on this dude, I'm loving this! Albums released?
Shit gets interstellar at 11:10
dang, that was hot!
What is the name of this track? I’d love to hear the studio version and study possibly transcribe it for drum set
Isn`t Nate the drummer on Louis Cole live apartment session?
He's the master cowbell player in F it up
A probably also the van driver on many Clown Core videos.
