    I don't mean to sound harsh or insulting but hope to offer a little constructive criticism. I find your recent episodic opening drone shots way too long and a little to cinematic, especially with the music played during the sequence. I realize it may be due to lack of content in getting started in youtube land. Also, I understand you've had issues and are best supported in the USA with hardware. But, isn't this the third time you've crossed to Bimini over the last year or so? Are you paying the Bohemians each time for checking in? I hope not. I really enjoyed the episode where you were going for it come hell or hight water only to find you back in the US the next episode, I believe. Hmmm......

    • @sailingEV888
      @sailingEV888  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Well I appreciate your criticism. Yes this is my 3rd time in Bimini which makes 7 crossings across the gulf stream. Yes I was back in the usa after reaching Bimini last time.why? Because of a bad graphics card. I crossed back fixed a few computer issues fixed my dingy reprovisioned and now I'm in Bimini again. This time to go forward into the Bahamas. This is a real sailing channel where things go wrong. No tits and bikinis here bud just real sailing with real problems: Yes, I've been paying the fees I have no choice. I hope you see this as me being committed to this channel. I could have lied. I could have made some BS story to save face. But no I'm being honest with my content. It's a truth vlog. As for my long cinematic shots I wish to capture the feeling of sailing off onto the ocean. Your the only comment complaining about a cool drone shot! 100k people viewed my last video no one complained. To be honest I don't care. I make videos that I think are cool and tell a story. Have you sailed 4000nm? Made 130 videos spent your entire life savings 6 years of my life thousands of hours of editing a small fortune in video gear and for what? A few hundred dollars a month? Respectfully sir I appreciate your comment I hope you see that I'm just trying to make this happen and entertain people.

      One more thing. Speaking truth. I didn't like the video either. Seems like I've made this video so many times so maybe I was not feeling the edit. Sometimes I get choked up and excited after exporting a new video. I watch it over and over alone in the saloon down below drinking rum and trying to figure out how to make a better one next time. You win some you loose some. My favorite video is one that no one watched. It's strange you think a video will do good and it flops. The key is to feed the beast. TH-cam is a beast that must be fed or parish. However maybe your right I'll tone down the cinematic a bit. I'm am a cinematographer by trade. I work on film sets. I see it thru those goggles. Regardless I'll try harder.

    What was fantastic to see you actually planned this crossing accordingly and left very early in the morning so you didn’t arrive after dark and Bahamas

    Well Capt. Back in the Bahamas. Gotta love it.
    On another note, most epoxies will cure under water. We have used west system mixed with a thickener to do temporary underwater patches with good success. The surface does need to be pretty cleaned of all bottom paint and roughed up. Just mix it up on a piece of plastic and slap the whole hot mess on. After curing you can usually peel the plastic off.
    Looking fwd to the rest of your adventure.😅

    Man! Thats an expensive catamaran! What was the OAL and beam? I’m on a 80’ Lazzara motor yacht. Captain and engineer. We are in the Great Abaco. First week after our crossing I have had a stern thruster, winless, freezer, water maker, and a few other things stop working on me. I have been able to fix everything so far. Now one of my generators is leaking fuel at the pump. Trying to source some special Orings in Harbour town. Hahaha crazy how boats just keep constantly working. Sea strainers clogging up…. Jet ski won’t start… running a yacht is sooooo much work man.

      sailing solo near the edge of the world you must guard against a mob, trail a nylon floating long line with knots, rig it to a rudder haul over, you go in you have that last possible grab to pull her bow into the wind, you are on your own

    I would be more at ease with a galvanized carriage bolt the same diameter as your failed thru hull with large stiff rubber gaskets with maybe some 5200 on both sides compressed by double nuts on the inside of the hull. I'm concerned your wooden plug is going to fail you.

  • @HailNjord
    @HailNjord 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I looked up some videos and products for recovering a drone from a moving boat. Looks like there is a handle that you can buy that's about $15. You strap it to the drone and you can catch it with that. Once caught you rotate the drone upside down quickly. That will shut it off. Other advice people had was to turn off the collision sensors or fly in sideways.

    • @sailingEV888
      @sailingEV888  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I'm go8ng to make a net one day and fly it into it. For now this is my only drone. I have strict rules and have been burned in the past. This is number 3!
      Rule #1 no rum and drones!

    solo near the edge of the world its all on you mister michael, make a mistake they will find your empty boat somewhere near greenland, my fear would be a mob, give yourself one last option, trail a nylon floating long line with knots, rig it to some sort of rudder haul over, you go in you grab that line and pull her bow into the wind ev will circle around and pick you up, im sure there are several ways you could rig ev to start doing circles if you left the boat,other wise you are playing a dangerous game,
