Love the tour and info about the island and the area. Buy that man some lunch.. or one of them Conchs. I'm a trucker and have been down on the Rickenbacker at the Miami Marine institute.. Arrived on a friday.. dropped the dropdeck trailer while they loaded it over the weekend.. So I went SCUBA diving at Quiescense dive center in the Keys. Took the load back up the I-95 to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institue, RI. So I wasn't zoomed in enough to the google maps and didn't see Bimini.. So I went to Wikipedia.. Silence of the lambs is one of the mentions on the page. I'll have to try and find it online and watch it again.
Cool video Capt. Aladin is Awesome! I'm moving onto my little Cape Dory Typhoon Weekender in a week..... I know small sailboat but that's what I got for now. I've never sailed outside of the United States even though I've lived in West Palm Beach most of my life......I know...crazy. But soon I will change that....God willing.....and yes I'm adventurous or crazy....probably both to cross the gulf stream on a 19ft Sailboat! Bimini looks like a first good stop. I'll be in Miami soon, so I hope to meet you. Your a Cool dude. Thanks for the awesome videos! Sail on!
New viewer from the PNW. (Just got home from a visit to Puerto Rico, my first visit to the Caribbean) - Appreciate your content and honest documentation of your travels, subscribed!
I enjoy your videos for several reasons. First you seem “real”. As a relatively new sailer, I don’t feel like you’re talking down to me. When you have problems, I like to see you work through them. I know I will experience them all soon enough. Keep up the good work.
I appreciate your sentiment. I want to shoot sailing videos I wanted to see when I was just starting out. Buying a boat and dreaming of sailing around the world. I hope someone out there learns from my mistakes. And enjoys some time at sea from home..
Nice work, Mike! Each new video tops the last. You're really excelling. Including others like the cat guy and Aladin adds diversity and boosts production value. Can't wait for what's next!
Hey Capt. Were you back in the States for more than 30 days? The Bahamas previously allowed you to do one return to the Islands within 30 days on the same cruising permit without paying another entrance fee. We took advantage of that last year without issues. Great tour of Bimini. I first went there 35 years ago. Had drinks in the old Complete Angler bar before it was destroyed. Has seen a lot of changes over the years with the casino and lots of development but still a cool place to drop anchor. There is also a fuel station at the marina on south Bimini. Sometimes it is a little cheaper than the one at Blue Water.
Thanks for the heads up! Wish I had of known that info. I hope it shows my commitment to being honest bringing you all real content. I'm living my dream right now and it's going well. Fingers crossed 🤞 Thanks for commenting
Thanks mate! Here I am wondering how I'm going to pull this off!! I have thousands of nautical miles left! From EV and I thank you mate! Welcome aboard! That 20 dollars will move this sailboat deeper into the Bahamas 🇧🇸. Cheers!
I came across your channel and found it interesting. Subscribed to learn what it takes to sail the Caribbean. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
woow awsome vid and many thanks to aladan for the tour of all the vids i watch most are how to sign never any history of the Island Great Job Bring on more of this
I grew up boating 35 foot pivor loadstar in the 80's . We did the Bahamas hope town and all diving down and getting loster and loads of fish. and I remeber sailing in to Bimini but they had us dock and put up a flag and they came to us. . Loved sailing around there and fla and the intercoastal waterway. I miss couch fritters.
@sailingEV888 my dad still captains . He's in Ocracoke now .He is the Sinbad. Sail in Blackbeard's Wake with Capt. Rob Temple schooner windfall. If you ever get up that far. Let us know :)
Just came across your channel I love it man I would love to do this. Question are you ever concerned ppl will mess with your boat or dingy while you’re in town
Great video, last time I was there in Bimini was 51 years ago with my family on a 48 foot sports fisherman as we did different islands throughout the Bahamas. I can remember fishing off the dock with baloney catching red snapper, as my dad was in having drinks with Hemingway‘s brother at the bar at the marina. Keep the good work up and be safe.😎👍
Legendary! I imagine things are different now even I have seen changes since last season.. Good for Bimini the people here are very special happy humans!
Brian from SV Delos inspired me. I only hope you choose to hit that record button when things go wrong and post it! We all learn from lessons posted here..(I hope anyway digital crew) Ypur digital captain vows to record no matter what happens.. and sh#%t ALWAYS HAPPENS..
There is something special about being out here. It's so far away from the USA (a days sail) remote and wild. Something you will have to just see for yourself. I know I have 1000's of nm left. I'm by what is ahead of me. The great Bahama bank and beyond. All I can do is break it into categories and understand what I'm up against.. look at the weather then move forward..
@@sailingEV888 You're in a boater's paradise....just enjoy. Patience is your best friend Mike with passaging. DO NOT head east until winds have gone to 180 AT LEAST [preferably 200]and below 12 knots for a half a day.
@@sailingEV888 A GREAT read for you is "A gentleman's guide to the Thorny Path" by Bruce VanSant - it's a wealth of boater's wisdom for navigating the Bahamas with comfort, peace and joy. Great info on anchorages, weather, fishing, provisioning etc etc.
I’m at Tahiti Beach sadly leaving in about a week. Would be nice to me up for a beer. Heading for Marsh Harbour Friday. Have watched almost all your videos.
@@sailingEV888we went through the grand Lucian waterway… it goes through Freeport. Unfortunately, you can’t make it with your sailboat. There are two bridges that are fixed 24’and the other one 35. We are on a trawler. Your best bet may be going to the berries and then going around.hole in the wall.
Sorry I didn't see this video earlier.. I could have helped you out on Bimini. You could have checked in at fisherman's Villiage (where the seaplane lands). You could have parked your dinghy ay FV dock.. If you're on Bimini and need a helping hand from a fellow sailor, give me a shout. Just ask anyone "I'm looking for "The Water Man".. BTW, Best ATM Bank machine is in the hotel lobby.

I’m quite positive that Hewingway’s “The old man and the sea “ happened in Cuba.
We should confirm this with historical evidence. I'd like to know. This is a truth vlog. Any reason why you say that?

Do you have to go back to Canada to keep your health insurance active?
where you headed for hurricane season? If its up in the chesapeake, hit me up. Got all the insides

Those prices are insane, they charge for cruising around?
We call that a Florida snow storm.

Harry Pidgeon and Josh Slocum had it easier in some ways. Less formalities and more "just be there".
Harry pigeon? I will look into who that was. But Slocum is a legend I think of every single day out here..
