After 4 years living in the capitol city of Hanoi, I've decided to move to Da Nang, Vietnam's 3rd largest city located near the beach. I documented a bit about the move and finding a place to live. Everything has been great so far. The food is delicious, there is cheap streetfood everywhere. The weather is great and all the locals have been very friendly. I'm excited to explore all over Da Nang and make lots of videos about life here.

Hi👋 my name is Travis and I have been living in Vietnam for almost 5 years.
I love learning about Asian language and culture and exploring as many places as possible.✈️
I mostly make TH-cam videos about vietnamese food and culture while traveling around the country and I also make videos when I travel to other countries.

🤣😆😆
It’s called “pornstache”😂
I’m really enjoying❤ your videos, you interact very well and narration is very good also❤😂
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Everything seems to be quite convenient to transport. It's great to live in a place that's both close to the city and close to the beach. Well done you guys 👍🏻
Yes cheap and easy to arrange, relative to any western country
Travis, thanks for your content. As a long term expat in Thailand and someone who likes to get right to the point, I have found your information and delivery extremely helpful. I tried the steak and eggs you suggested and it was a great start for the day. I would definatly make that a normal spot. Thanks
Thanks David I appreciate the comment.
sending my support to your chanel by watching the entire video✌️more power
to you.✌️
You're the best!
Very nice place. It looks spacious. The cost of moving is cheap! How's the weather compared with Hanoi? The beaches are so beautiful. More videos about life in Danang would be awesome. Thanks 🙏.
Yep moving was easier and cheaper than I thought. The weather in Hanoi is mostly not great about 10 months out of the year.
Pad looking sweet Trav! 🎉
Cheers bro when you coming to visit?
I love the cat...so cute with the little helmet.
Thank you! 😊
Hey Travis, I lived in China for a fewyears-teaching English at 3 different universities. What’s your gig in Vietnam? I’m heading to Da Nang in December. Can’t wait🎉 Kettlebells!!!
Hey Jay, I was a specialist for autistic children for a long time. Now I'm just focused on the YT. I think you'll enjoy DN. Send me a message before you arrive I'll help you get set up
Good luck, Travis!
Cheers Ollie miss ya buddy
👍😇❤Wow. So cheap to move and so quick to find such a nice apartment!!! Was it about $400 a month? How far do you live from My Khe beach ?? Anyway, can't wait to see your upcoming new vlogs from Da Nang!!! Thank you for sharing!!! ❤
The house is 15 mil a month so I think about 600$. I'm 800m from the beach. Do you live in Da Nang also? Thanks for commenting!
@@TravisTravelsVNYeah. I have a feeling it is more than $400 / month. 😊😅Anyway, very nice place. 👌 I live in California. BTW, it's soo expensive right now in the US. You got to love and treasure how cheap things still are in Vietnam 😊
Yep Vietnam definitely cheaper than California...I appreciate the cost of living here 💯%
Travis your videos are super amazing and helpful. About what price range is your 3 bedroom apartment I’m really thinking of moving from Hanoi to Đà Nẵng or HoiAn as well. I’m currently enjoying Thailand and Hanoi. Both are great but love to try out Đà Nẵng. I’ve only stayed their for 2 days on Vacation so far. I love south Pattaya and Phuket so Đà Nẵng sounds like a great option as well
Thanks for the comment man. I have a 3-bedroom house for about $600. It is definitely more space than most people will need. You can get nice 1 bedroom apartments for $3-400. I also like Phuket a lot but Da nang will be much lower cost of living.
Hey Travis! Loved your videos. Just wondering what do you do for a living? Are you a digital nomad?
I taught autistic kids for a long time now just focused on YT
So why did you move to Da Nang? You don’t tell us.
Better weather and clean air
Dont forget to try Hoa Phu Thanh waterfall park. You never regret.
Congrats Travis. You guys move to a great city. A nice house that you guys found and moved into within a couple of days. Impressive. May I ask that you guys bought the home or rented?
Just renting. I think we got lucky to find a nice place so soon.
Love the videos mate! When you moved to Vietnam did you need to open a local bank account for income? Interested to know how all that works as I'm considering moving. Cheers
Yes I have VN account. Not every bank allows foreigners to open an account but there are a few that will let you open an account with just a tourist visa
would you stop by a boba shop in da nang and try it? its a house boba shop
Sure, I like boba but I don't try it very much. What shop is it?
I’ll send you the address and it’s my cousins shop!
@@TravisTravelsVN 106 Huỳnh Ngọc Huệ, Da Nang, Vietnam
Sorry I never saw this reply! I will definitely stop by for boba!
omg that's cool! u might see my relatives there!@@TravisTravelsVN
Hi Ravis, i am moving there on a 90 day multiple in and outs... to Danang... any tipe bro coming from Toronto.
Yo send me a message if you have any questions
Cheers ty will do
this guy looks like my room mates twin with this mustach xD
Hey Travis! Amazing content. Is it easy to immigrate to Vietnam? What does it take make it your permanent home? Do you have a video on all steps needed to make the move?
Thanks for the comment. I have a few detailed videos on the visa process. You can stay 3-months at a time, leave for one day to renew every 90 days. If you marry a VNmese you can stay permanently
@@TravisTravelsVN thank you very much. You’ve also inspired me to grow my mustache back!!
Any website recommendation where to look for apartments in Da Nang?
I don't actually recommend websites. The listings are not accurate. Its best to find a good agent when you arrive and have a look at a few places in person
How do you make a living in Vietnam? Are you a US citizen with a work visa?
I worked for 4 years with work visa/resident card. Now I am on consecutive tourist visas
@@TravisTravelsVN ok. Am heading to Da Nang in a week or so, does the typhoon affect the area?
I am always curious for a US citizen, what kind of jobs I can find there. Maybe teach English? Lol.
DN is fine now. Mostly teaching English is possible. Let me know if you need any help planning for Da Nang
@@TravisTravelsVN thanks, I think I am fine with planning. Do want to visit Ba Na Hill. How do people get tickets, you know? Can I just go there and buy the cable car ticket on the spot? How long will it take to explore the place up in the mountain?
What is the process? I am thinking about moving from HCM to Da Nang as well.
We used a company called FUTA to ship everything on trucks. It was fast and cheap. Da Nang is great, you should check it out. Let me know if you have any questions at all. Thanks for your comment bro
Thanks so much brother. Enjoy and will be in touch.
what do you do for work to get paid in dollars tho?
I have the same question. Would love if he could reply as to what he does in Vietnam for work
I taught Autistic children for a long time and saved a lot. Now just focused on YT
Do you know Hai phong city is a big city near Hanoi ? Da Nang city Vs Hai phong city for living ?
I've never been to Hai Phong. I've heard it's nice. All I know is Hai Phong không vòng vòng 😄
@@TravisTravelsVN Haiphong city have Red Light streets at Do Son beach very cheap girls for fu c..., security, safety.....
@@TravisTravelsVN 🤣
Did I miss why you move there?
Nice beach and good weather, get out of hanoi pollution and traffic
Talk about how you found the house? Realtor?
yes, find a good local agent. I looked at a few places and this one worked for me
Hello Travis I and my bf he is American will have 90days visa approved and be in danang this 21th . And we looking for a place to rent o hope you can recommend some idea what we need to do to find a place to stay
How much to rent the house? Do you feel secure with the contract? Do you have a house/condo hunting video?
The house is about $600 USD for 3 bedroom near the beach. I may do a house tour/cost of living video soon
@@TravisTravelsVN Thanks for the response.
What about safety? You look gringo in a nice house, do people break in to steal? Or robberies in the markets?
Extremely safe here, crime is very low
How did you guys get to know each other? At work?
We met briefly in Hanoi and stayed in touch for a while before moving to the same city together
what about rent in the new apt? how much?
600$ for 3 bedroom house. You can definitely find places much cheaper or more expensive. I'm planning to do a cost of living/house tour video soon. Thanks for watching!
@@TravisTravelsVN Thanks for the info.
Any legal long term Vietnamese expat like myself who lives here and has done so for several years understands Danang totally blows.
What don't you like about it? I'd like to hear from your perspective
The title is bs, you didn’t say a word as to why you moved there
Danang is not third largest city. It’s Haiphong city. Exactly, Danang is 5th
That actually sounds right. Thanks for fixing me. What is the 4th largest?
@@TravisTravelsVN Can Tho city bro
no ugly pollution there like Hanoi.
