I talk a lot about how great it is to live in Vietnam but there are a few cons to living here. If you're trying to live in a foreign country there are going to be some things you need to adapt and get used to. In this video, I describe a few of the inconveniences of living in Vietnam.

Hi my name is Travis and I have been living in Vietnam for almost 5 years.
I love learning about Vietnamese language and culture and exploring as many places as possible.
I make TH-cam videos about vietnamese food and living in Vietnam and I try to meet local people while traveling around the country.

I lived in Chicago for several years too, and did not like the frigid temps. Every country has its unique culture and some minor "challenges" that we can deal with, and just work with it. I live in the Big Island/Hawaii at this time, and yes, it has its few challenges, but nothing beats the beauty, the Aloha spirit of the islands. I am surrounded by lush greenery in an idyllic and peaceful environment.

I lived on Oahu for 3 years. Loved it but the cost of living was rough. Hawaii was my dream growing up and I'm proud I made it happen for a while. I moved straight to Hanoi for 4 years and it was also great but terrible weather. Happy to be back by the beach now

Hi Travis!! Thank you so much for your videos! I recently started researching my next place to live on a budget, and I was very interested in Chiang Mai, Thailand. But after looking more into Chiang Mai, I came across your video on "Living WELL on $1000/month" video on Da Nang, Vietnam and I LOVE your videos on Vietnam. I am seriously considering living in Da Nang for health reasons, so I am hoping to see more of your videos real soon and start planning on living in Da Nang. Thank you!!

Hot and humid....welcome to Cairns/Australia, my hometown.
Just jump into a luck warm pool😉
Mossies?.....what about being woken up by a deathly snake in your bed?
Just don't panic, relax and you will be ok!
Going for a swim in the ocean....?
    Just don't....full stop!
Besides huge crocodiles....there are deathly stingers etc,... too many killer creatures to mention!
The price of a beer, or even a big Mac...don't even get me started!
You probably could live on that in VN for 3 day's.
But.....Australia is still a great country to visit....not as cheap as Asia....the food is lausy....the beer still icy cold, .and most of us Aussies love visitors, are happy to go out of our way to help you.
So please, come over....we love Yah.
A warning to all smokers....a packet of 25 Marlborow cigarettes will cost you a minimum of 45 Australian dollars, if you find a discount vendor.
At a petrol station....it will be more like 50 bucks++ for 25 bloody smokes.
    30 day's in Australia....as a average smoker, 25 a day, will cost you around 1500 dollars!!!!
And, the Australian duty free allowance is.....just 50.....yes.....50 ......cigarettes per person!!!
    Keep that in mind!!!

6 things I hate living in San Francisco, CA. USA 1) Needles all over streets, 2) human feces all over streets, 3) homeless camps all over/next to million dollars condos, 4) $3000/mo for one small bedroom apt., 5) car windows broken 5xs in one yr. 6) a bowl of XL pho cost $18.00 . So count your blessings and be happy.

Travis as a sports guy how are the sports bars? Are they open 24/7 in Da Nang?? How about doing a video on that! NFL games have to be tough to watch in Da Nang since they come on at Midnight/3:00 am when the season starts. Go BEARS!

    • @TravisTravelsVN
      @TravisTravelsVN  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

There are some sports bars always open for big events. For example, UFC is always on at 8 am here so there is always a place to watch. For football games, I will download the replay the next morning and watch it with no commercials. 100% better than watching it live haha. This year will be different though Ill be watching the BEARS at midnight for sure

Travis, can you do a video on how to order bahn bi? Usually when I go to a cart, I get it with everything. But I'd like to know the names of the different ingredients they have so it's easier to order. One lady on Ha Bong sells good ones, but it usually has this stringy, chewy fish filling which isn't great.

Hi Travis, can you develop furtherly the dengue thing? I mean, you seem young and overall healthy yet you mentioned the dengue as if it was an awful experience, not really like a common flu. For immunocompromised individuals it's probably something concern? I have a genetic immunodeficiency, so that sounds as something that could really harm me.

Regarding the hot humidity, in the pandemic I moved from Switzerland to my other house in the north of Spain, Mediterranean side. I am 20 min away from beach and in the middle of the mountain.
