Anything Phil sings is golden. Lamb would be in my top 15 with his vocals.
Nice!!
the Best live with Seconds Out... 👍👍👍
It’s that power and energy from that version (it was the encore of that tour).
I think the opening track sets the mood brilliantly for what is to come.
Part of the song was played live on the 1992 tour in the old medley.
That was the first version of it I ever heard and I loved it immediately, even though that ended up being my least favorite version.
This song is great to listen to from the beginning of the tour in America versus the European leg of the tour.
Seconds Out has a Nice Version of Supper's Ready with Phil on Vocals.
I love the Lamb album! I think it’s good also to listen in one go… but there are really good stand out’s for me Lamia, in the cage- on that note I really love the cage live 1984 I think? Anyway The boys are on fire! But love it when Phil gets behind his drums…Fantastic! ❤
It is not my favorite Genesis album. The older I get the more I do like it. It's just a strange rock opera. I hear it is Peter Gabriel's swan song. I think Phil does a terrific job at singing Gabriel era songs. I find myself drawn to his singing on the Gabriel songs. I love Phil, just like you.
Absolutely agree. I prefer Phils voice.
Such a masterpiece !!!!!!!
You decided against the Atlantic 75th Anniversary version? Maybe someone will get you a copy.
Phil liked this album. It was my entry to Genesis. Kurt had the album and we played side 1 and 2 endlessly. Side three had Kurt's huge scratch across 'The Waiting Room'. Oops. Now I like the whole thing. Steve sounds really good on sides 3 and 4. Collins sounds really good all the way through.
The original version of this album started with silence for several seconds.
When the Platinum Collection came out (followed by the ‘07 reissue), I was floored by the simple change to not fade in 💙💙
Hmm, very interesting song to choose for the topic of a video!! While I do enjoy "Lamb" as a song, the whole "Lamb" album I really only know/like "Lamb" and Carpet Crawlers. Would love to hear you review the Selling England by the Pound, and A Trick of the Tail albums next!!!
This song is just an ok song for me. Nothing too spectacular. Way back when I was performing Phil Collins and Genesis songs in a live format in a cover band, we performed the entire "Old Medley" from "Live/The Way We Walk/Volume 2: The Longs exactly how it is on there. We didn't make any changes or modifications. I felt it would be better if we played the songs exactly how they were performed on those live compilations. I sang the lead vocals and played the drums on "Firth Of Fifth" with another drummer, just like Phil and Chester did on the "We Can't Dance" Tour in 1992.
The best live version (for me) was on the Three Sides Live tour and segue-waying into Watcher.
I prefer the live version of this album and not the version from the shrine auditorium with the vocal overdubs.
I love this song. Both album and Seconds Out versions trickle in with their own flavor (the S.O. advantage being that Phil says something to make the crowd cheer and amp up the moment).
It’s weird to hear it NOT flow into another song so it’s a bit jarring by itself but great nonetheless.
Phil says: “Merci Paris. “
@@fswaan5624 THANK YOU!!
Hey Scott!! Congrats on your Japanese pressing. I'm curious, does your pressing have the annoying low noise "hum" that was standard on U.S and Canadian copies??
I have the 45rpm on order. I'm excited but I still have a hunch I'm still going to prefer the later remix.
Hope all is well on your end.

I remember talking to Tony back in the early 90's regarding the piano solo. Funny you mentioned it was quiet. I told him that the Atlantic CD had the intro cut off by roughly a second. It was remedied on the 94 version but then they were using the original tapes. I'm curious what will be in store for the 45rpm.
@Darrin.Crawford The Analog Productions 45 rpm version is flat out spectacular. You won't regret the purchase and you'll likely hear things you've never heard before. Not only is the vinyl the best pressing ever (by far), but the jacket is also first rate, with the four discs being housed in book-like jacket - each disc having its own very sturdy "page", with the lyrics printed on each sleeve. I'm considering purchasing a second, "just because".
@@losendos8963 That is so awesome!! I'm really looking forward to it. I don't normally like to keep doubles of titles but in Genesis' case I can justify it because of the different mixes.
I have Selling England on 45rpm and its incredible but I still prefer the newer remixes. So many new things to hear with the new ones.
Can't wait for Trick, Cryme and Foxtrot to come out.
Through the Fountain's Eye by Timothy Pure has a similar feel.
