- Latkes and a GIVEAWAY! What an episode! For me, making latkes has always been a family activity, so thank you for joining me today for this very special AZ Cooks Live. I first made these with my grandmother when I was 4 years old. I had my son squeezing potatoes for me when he was 3. Cooking is a cultural totem that brings people together to share love and joy in a very unique way.

SHUN KNIVES
Today i made the potato latkes for 2 of my Jewish ladies at work. Im a caregiver at a senior home and with Covid ruining everything, they absolutely loved them and were extremely happy that someone took the time to do that for them. They’re both 100 years old so i loved that they were so happy. Its the little things that matter in life 🙏🏻.

Interesting! Three different methods of potatoes all stirred together. I can't wait to try this! "Shun knives," OMG. Superb.
Ooh yes grated apple mixed in with the potatoes, we have applesauce along with sour cream on the side so the grated apples would eliminate the applesauce on the side, killing 2 birds with 1 stone! Very nice!

I like the idea of mixing mashed&grated potatoes, I'm Polish & I'm always looking for diff ways to make or improve the potato pancakes, which we call placki In Polish. Some of us add some finely shredded carrots & sometimes even shredded zucchini along with onion to make them more moist &tender Great video again! Thanx, Drew.👌👍
