Ive been doing martial arts fan for like 5 years and had absolutely no idea there were other fandoms that used these...I am excited to dove in and learn rave tricks that i can incorporate into my forms.

@@elaxiber2328 I train with a Wushu school, and fan is one of my specialties. Fan is a common weapon in tai chi but a less so in Wushu, so I kinda have the luxury of making up my own things. Last year I created a double fan form!

How about just not cracking the fan to the beat. It'sactually the opposite of good etiquette because it's rude, narcissistic, and annoying. Yes cooling yourself & others off, cracking it on beat to open it when you first take it out, but not to the entire song or entire drop. People want to hear music not to hear you play with your fans.
Cracking fans ... the most annoying thing that happened at ultra !! Especially when it happens at the resistance stages !

DON'T WACK THE FANS!!! We go to hear the DJ spin their music. It would be as rude as doing it at a concert when you're going to see and HEAR someone perform. Stop interrupting the artist. It's rude to them and everyone around you who are actually fans of the artists and not just there to party.

Hey y'all I'm wondering if anyone knows of a fan I can buy that doesn't make the clack sound when opened. I know that it's unlikely to find a clackless fan because that's just how they work. But I want to play with a fan at raves without bothering anyone with the sound
DO NOT CRACK A FAN AT A RAVE IN GENERAL! It’s not meant to be cracked. Yea it looks cool but trust me nobody around you wants to hear it Bc it gets in the way of the music. Especially the people in the back
I have a smaller fan so I don't have to worry about hitting other people... small hand problems. (P.S. Asian Market has some great fans that last for quite a while!)

I'd think that if the housing isn't damaged, you can get the remnants of the screw out and bring those as well as the fan to your local hardware store. They should be able to match it.
Lol I know how to use a fan. But I can't even clap my hands to a beat.
I pretty much only let my fans clap at Pride and drag shows thought so I don't think anyone is going to have a problem.
Hey great vid! I was wondering if you put any fragrance/perfume on the fan to not only fan people, but also spread good smells to feel even better? And if you do, which fragrance/perfume do you recommend?
Daniel Kim I’m not a big fan of putting fragrance on the fan. I have an incredibly sensitive nose so overpowering smells don’t sit well with me. But if you are going to put something, I would suggest just a touch of menthol. It’s a very neutral and soothing smell :) no colognes or perfumes because different scents can annoy people
I liked putting small amounts of vicks on the edge of my fans, but be sure not to over due it since it does affect the material, adds extra weight, and just sometimes a little is too much for some folk!

As a DJ who plays at EDC, Hard Summer, Hard Rock and all over….the fans are silly. The totems are worse. I love playing at places that have bottle service & dressed up party goers.

Of all places? Walmart has a TON of Pride stuff. They legit have a FULL collection called “The Pride Collection.” They even recently brought in Crayolas “Colors of the World.” Pmsl. 😅

Bamboo all the way! Once a fan is drenched in sweat (it happens often!) and therefore harder to fan, there's additional stress on the fan's ribs - at which point plastic just snaps while bamboo seems to absorb some of the moisture making is flex a little instead of breaking.

I got yelled at by some random guy the last rave I went to because I accidentally dropped the fam. Someone had ran into me and it fell onto the ground. I didn’t pay him much attention because I don’t take well to someone rudely telling me what to do but he said something along the lines of “don’t you ever drop your f-cking fan” does anyone know why he got so mad? Like is there some kind of etiquette I missed? I would never drop it on purpose as it’s so pretty and would easily get dirty but why was he so upset I dropped it?

After watching some youtubes i can genuinly say that on beat or not that sounds maaaaad annoying and I'm greatful I get to miss this phase of "the scene" I came for the music, not to hear you project your poor impulse control

I remember my (used to be) friend I was forced to be friends with her sort of. Anyway this was like third or first grade I don’t remember maybe even kindergarten but I got this really pretty pink fan with gold designs and I don’t remember if it was an actual traditional fan or a dollar store one but I loved it so much that I brought it to school. She took it forcefully out of my hands without my consent I was like hesitant to give it to her cause I knew how she was but I couldn’t speak up for myself and she broke it. Everyone got so mad at her because they knew how much I liked my fan and she said sorry to me and I just looked at it sadly and said “oh it’s okay.” It was not okay I’m still mad 😀 anyway my mom said “wow great job and good idea to bring it to school wasn’t it”

If you're at a festival or a show (depending how big the venue is) and super pressed about people clacking fans or using whistles then you're not vibing enough. They also spent money to be there and as long as they're not causing you physical harm then mind your own
