Fantastically thorough review!! Thank you! One question please: I never grind for espresso - mainly various drippers (Clever, Moccamaster 1 Cup & only occasionally Aeropress). So despite being an awesome grinder, do you feel it is too much (premium features & price) to buy for a non espresso coffee enthusiast? Thanks again
We wouldn't say it's too much for a non-espresso coffee enthusiast if they're looking to fine-tune and master their pourovers. If you don't need 120 grind accuracy settings, we'd recommend the Timemore Chestnut C2!
Got this grinder last week, tested it and compared with other grinders, kinda disappointed, it is hard to hold in hand because the shape of the body, and if you don’t fold the arm back, the grinder hardly stands itself It is beautiful, but not so agronomic, and super heavy
By comarison, in 1ZPresso grinders, the new J Max looks awesome. But it seems to be geared in it's features & thereby price for espresso grinders. Wondering if you would say this Chestnut X is same - probably too high end for non espresso grinding? Thank u
This video convinced me to get a Chestnut X back in April, and I am so happy with the purchase!
Glad to know you love it as much as we do!
Are you using it for expresso?
Missed the chance to put the grind adjustment mechanism on the outside or on the top, rather than in the path of clumps of coffee grinds.

For non espresso brews people usually say timemore chestnut c2 is all you need

@@Matpermad Thank you. I already have a C2 & it is great!

If particle size distribution is important to you, the Chestnut X would be worth the investment!
