Amazing song! No shame in crying! Its a touching song!
I am not a fan of todays country music but there are a few country artist that I love. Jamey Johnson is one of them. Great reaction!
Yes good men cry.
I agree at 60 I tear up every time. For me this is my story as the grandchild. I remember grandma and grandpa had a fireplace that had a picture that looks almost identical to the last one he pointed out. It was grandpa in his uniform and grandma in a dress from their wedding. I don't remember them speaking much on the depression but I knew they lived through it and that grandpa was in the Philippines during WW2. For years I had a coin that he brought back that was 10 centavos from the Philippines. Jamey does still sing but he has a long white beard now (like me but mine isn't quite as long).
Like saying the pictures coming to life.
I cried the first time I heard this song. It still gives me the shivers when I here him say you should have seen it in color the first time. Such a powerful song. Real life, real feelings, real love. Thank you for doing this one. I loved your comments. ❤️
Don't worry about the tears sir , that is the utmost respect to the artist...
Thank you Thank you Thank you for getting the true concept of the song. I have seen so many reactions where they thought it was just from a black & white picture vs color photo. Living life, you know..."you had to be there. " 🥰
It’s OK I cried on that one too thinking of my grandparents and the pictures I’ve seen
i lived in Donaldsonville a few year ago for a while! great reaction.
Tear up every time this song plays. Cherish your family while you have them.
This is a reaction of a real human being with real heart and emotions.
Thank You my friend...
I am a vet, there are 3 songs guaranteed to break me, In Color, Letters from home, and Arlington
Thank you for your service!
All are fantastic songs.
Awesome brother , Im 58 yr old east Texas country boy and ever time I hear this song I well up. Thank you for your truth.
East Texas! No better place on Earth.
Salvatore Cardinale, USN 1942-1946. Served on a battle cruiser in the Pacific theatre. My grandpa was my hero, and still is. I miss him more than I could ever say.
Had to subscribe for tist one. Fantastic reviews my dog
❤❤❤❤❤
I am so grateful for your honesty, rawness and empathy❤❤ and the rest of the world should be as well ❤
Thank you!
You are good man you got this lol.nothing wrong w crying
A must for this amazing Songwriter:
High Cost of Living.
I appreciate you and this reaction more than I can convey in a comment on TH-cam. Your raw emotion/reaction is beautiful! Thank you for sharing this reaction.!
Gets me too!
This is my favorite song by Jamey Johnson! Check out (High Cost of Living) by him as well. He also does a cover of (Four Walls of Raiford) by Lynard Skynard that is worth checking out too!
You are doing good bud, this one makes every real man's eyes sweat... Who have a mile or 2 of life under their belt! Drive on!
Thanks man
I absolutely love your reactions! You are one of the best!! I can’t afford anything (that will make a marked difference) extra in my life currently. If I had the means I would donate millions to you. You are great!
Thank you so much my friend!
Hun I feel ya I'm going on 50 don't have parents left or grandparents cry every time
Never seen you react to something before but I love you brother. Tears are powerful.
Tonight is the first time i seen your videos. My first video was you reacting to Kelly Clarkson. As soon as i could tell you had a genuinely real reaction (which didn't take long) i had to subscribe. I love seeing people react to emotional songs for the first time.
Craig Morgan_the father, my son and the holy Ghost
Brad Paisley _whiskey lullaby
Or really go old school, George Jones_he stopped living her today.
Good country music is the best story telling there is.
Thank you!
I just sub'd cuz of chris Stapleton, but when I saw Jamey Johnson, i had to see your reaction! He's awesome and looks nothing like he did in this video... he looks much cooler now ❤ I've seen a video of him collaborating with zac brown band and the amazing MARCUS KING!! Who is another guitarist who blows my mind!!!! GREAT REACTION! ❤ I'd love to see you react to Billy Strings "DUST IN A BAGGIE" I like the old living room performance instead of the Opry one (he can plaaaay the guitar)
No worries brother. I've seen this 100+ times and it gets me every time.
This is why they are known as the Greatest Generation.
And we complain because they got our order wrong in the drive thru.
This is REAL country music that I fell in love with. Too bad we can't have more like this on the radio
I cried when i first heard that song. Such a good singer and even better story teller. I miss how county music used to be. Jamey Johnson is old school and one of the best
One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard! I cried too! Love the reaction!!
This song reminds me of going fishing with my Grandpa when I was a kid. Our poles in the water, and him telling stories. I miss those days.
Such a fantastic song.
I cried with you, my friend. What a beautiful, raw, sweet reaction. Virtual hugs to you and your family.
Thank you so much!
Just seeing this reaction, YT says 6 months after you posted. Outstanding reaction to this. I have seen Jamey in concert several times and he never disappoints. Saw him open for Lynyrd Skynyrd and he did an encore that covered George Jones, Neil Young George Straight (Jamey actually wrote the song Give it Away) and Lynyrd Skynyrd and absolutely crushed all of them. If he is playing anywhere nearby go to his show!
Side note I "might" have met him long time ago. He is a Parris Island Marine, I was stationed at the Branch Medical Clinic when he went through boot camp. We saw 800+ recuits a week so little chance of me remembering an individual, but that's good enough for me
As for tears, a great song will do that. No shame brother
That’s awesome!
Great music, regardless of the genre, can move people. This is an awesome reaction - thanks for taking us along with you, Brother.
that last verse always gets me too.
Last year was my first Thanksgiving without my dad. It really hit me then. I sat and looked at all his old black and white photos and listened to this song over and over. And cried and cried. I love that song and its meaning. Especially since I scrapbook. Worked on all his childhood photos (Great Depression) and Army (Germany in the 50s when they were constantly running up to the line waiting on the USSR to start another war).
Wow!
A real modern day Country music Outlaw. Such a performer, lyrics, vocal.
Best reaction to this song on YT. Totally reflects my first time hearing it. Good job!
Thank you! Great song for sure!
I cry every time I hear this my Dad and various uncles fought in WWII
You got to recognize this whole story happen in his first 25 years. They WERE kids just trying to save each other.
I agree 2000s neo traditional is amazing.
Simple song musically but the emotional songwriting charges through. WW2 Soldiers in my family had me aghast with some of their stories but I know for sure I feel less safe now that generation is gone. This song makes me miss them more.
this is definitely one of those songs that the video tells the full story.
Great reaction my friend. His voice shocked me when I first heard it and fell in love with it. What a great story he told. What a stunning storyteller. ❤❤
I broke too when he talks about grandma. I lose it every time.
A very emotional song. If you want another one try Monsters by James Blunt
Will do!
This song is hard to get through my man. No shame.
Beautiful song and Beautiful reaction❤
Crying, shows a person has a heart. I love to see people
that are not afraid to show emotions. Passion makes the
best reactions. Loved yours, thanks!
Thank you my friend! I surely do cry a lot! :)
Same reaction I had, brought back so many memories. 😢
Give Jesse Dayton’s Daddy was a badass
Great song. I'm sure you've heard of Blacktop Mojo, if not, they are one of my favorite groups and they have a great cover of this song and several others, along with really good originals.
Love that group.
Also MY reaction, as relate to EACH of verses: close w/brother during childhood, veteran, & once married...
**And as musician, what SHOULD have been straightforward covering (dare I say "easy" -5 chords total) was HARDEST EVER!!!
Another good one! I love hearing your stories! I especially love how you love your wife, Kim. I have a request. It's labeled (and a perfect example of why I despise labels) as country but could easily fit into the blues or soul genre. I'm not in to country so I would've missed this one had i not been channel surfing one night and saw it on the country music awards. It’s Chris Stapleton performing, "Cold" and please do that live version from the awards show. Thanks Ben!
Will do
A great song will break you
Which of Us Is The Fool by Robert Palmer / music video version please , pretty plz
I’ll add it to the list 👍
You are a mess. I’m a mess.
Yep! Lol
If we humans aren't moved by the music that's being played, then one of us is doing it wrong. 🥲❤
