My son had his 5 day old wellness check... they mentioned a heart murmur. He also mentioned one for our older daughter, but he said it wasn't urgent for her, so we thought nothing of it. We went home, had lunch, got a call for his heart exam that was only 1 hour later! We didn't get to take him home that day... he was whisked away to the emergency room and transported to the children's hospital. He had open heart surgery at 11 days old!!! Thankfully he is now a rambunctious 4 year old!!! And doing awesome!!
You are a Special Friend to oodles of us! Your sense of humor and love shows in all you do. Looking forward to more of these. AMAZING FABULOUS FIRST PODCAST! Have a great weekend!😀👍💞💯🎯🌹🍀🙏
I watched your first podcast, after viewing several of your stitch tutorials. I am from Wichita, Ks. as well. I moved to NYC in 1977. I started crocheting a year ago after retiring. I love your tutorials. The Denzel sweater is awesome. I can picture my husband wearing it. I am more of a visual learner. But I am trying to teach myself to read stitch patterns. I can tell it will open up a whole new crochet world for me. I am so happy i discovered you.
I'm glad that you have decided to do this Podcast. I would like to say that I am so sorry that your family has to go what you're going through with your son. I pray that he lives a long healthy life and have a family of his own some day.
Hi. I found your channel when I was searching the interwebs for a dog sweater and found your Dandy pattern. I read it top to bottom and read all the comments, then saw that you had a companion video for it. I thought, how wonderful, as I haven't crocheted in years. Long story short, I enjoyed your tutorial so much that I spent the next several hours poking through your channel and found that you have a podcast. Your pep is fantastic and you come across so genuine, that I subscribed immediately and thought, I'm gonna learn a little something and have fun too!! Thank you for being here and doing this right now, in these times, you are a breath of fresh air 🥰
Yay!!!! We need more Crochet podcasts! I am so excited and glad you popped up on my feed! I love Tunisian crochet but I am a struggling knitter 🙄I just want to learn to knit a pair of socks. 2022 Goals!
I really love your blog and more your podcast. Thank you for spreading the love and sharing your love with us all❤️🤗 Happy New Year and may God bless y'all with amazing things this year
Hi, Ashley! I’m SO glad your video popped up! I love your enthusiasm, energy, excitement, and positive head space! You’re a natural teacher! As I’m new to crochet, I can’t wait for your next episodes!
Woohoo! I am soooo excited for you... I am looking forward to the next episode. I already know that I am going to enjoy watching your podcast. Thank you Ashlea.... See you soon.

Might not catch you live as in the UK but do find these podcasts lovely to listen to when I'm crocheting myself. Patterns scare me so I learn by watching or reading a hand written pattern. X
I could never participate in the live Facebook sessions because there were no captions. I'm thrilled that you're captioning your youtube podcasts. Really ooking forward to these. I love all your patterns.
Really excited about this! I love to see/hear some of your crochet tips and secrets that you've learned along the way, specifically with crochet and Tunisian crochet
Hi - I just came across this podcast. I'm not on FB or Instagram so I'm glad you are now on You Tube. I am a crocheter but lately some knitting projects have been sparking some interest for me. I am a total beginner on the knitting side so looking forward to learning with you. Also will check out the Heart portion of your channel. I was born with a congenital heart defect and never knew it ... that is until i was 45 years old and it decided to surface. Crazy! So me finding your podcast today was meant to be. Good luck and looking forward to more podcasts. Take care, Kris K from Connecticut ❤🧶🌻
So excited about your crochet podcasts!! So nice to meet you! I live in Texas and love to crochet! I would like you to show us how to make a crochet a sweater !
I'm so happy to be on this podcast with you. Your journey is amazing and is still ongoing. Thank your for sharing with us. God Bless and enjoy your way!!!
I love anything you do and with a podcast you don't have to stop and answer a thousand questions lol. I still would love a live as well!!! I will support you in any thing you do!!
I am really excited about your new podcast! Especially the ideas about how you design because I would love to begin to branch out and try designing my own projects.
Looking forward to your Podcasts. I've belonged to your Heart, Hook, Home website for years and love your patterns and advice. Keep doing what you do so well.
My Son has severe CHF and my experience as an R.N. has helped me a lot. The most valuable is our faith. I'll do what I can for any of the "heart" followers.
Congrats on your first podcast. I look forward to everything you will teach us. I’m still a newbie and the way you teach is so easy to follow. Thank you for making crochet fun,
Congrats on your FIRST Podcast! You did very well! I really enjoy your patient, detailed instructions and have learned so much from you. I am “still” working on my 12” square, multi-stitch large Afghan! Only a few more to go! Doing it through the hot summer months was a lot easier with the 12” squares. I would love to hear/see more about design. I do alter patterns sometimes to make them more like I want them. So that would be great! Have I told you that you are awesome? You are!
Very touching hearing you talk if your son! I can’t imagine going through what you have! I had a nephew that was born with heart defects. Not an easy thing at all on my dear Sis and my brother in law. But you take one day at a time! Hugs! 🙏🏻♥️
So happy for you in your new adventure and that we still get to "spend time with you". You have so much talent and so much to offer all of us! Best wishes from a longtime FB group member❤
Oh, I love this! Here I am, crocheting and looking for something new, fun and inspirational to watch, and there popped up a suggestion: Heart Hook Home. I'm so glad there's already 7 episodes to watch, and I can't wait to watch them all! Love the story behind the name. And as i started the first episode I realized; that name sounded familiar. Aha, I just bought a pattern from your Etsy shop last week.
Hello Ashely I just found your channel I was looking for a Podcasts that will enrich my Soul with Crochet and everything else in between just hearing the introduction of this podcast I have enjoyed it very much I have searched to find a good podcast and I think I found it thank you for sharing your story
Love it! Keeping you and your family in prayer. Looking forward to learning new skills from you and test. I too have been desiring to learn how to knit. Hopefully it will stick this time, learning from you.
I’m not quite two years into my crochet obsession. I have learned so much from you. I just received yarn for my first Tunisian tank. 👏🏻 I’m looking forward to learning more about design and yarn choices. Thanks for taking the time to enhance our crochet experience!
I’m looking forward to seeing your knitting. I aspire to knit ( I’m living vicariously through Tunisian) which if you could, if you have any tips or advice for maintaining tension with Tunisian. Looking forward to your next podcast, your very personable.
I’ve been a fan of your crochet tutorials for some time now. It’s great to get to know you better! I’ve been hooked to crochet ( get it??😁) for about 2 1/2 years since I decided to make my granddaughter a blanket. I did it and now I can’t stop! I’m looking forward to learning more from you but especially the designing of patterns. I’ve been wanting to do that but didn’t know where to start. Thank you so much for all you do and sharing your story. 💝
Great to meet you! I’m looking forward to all the great things you bring to the table. You have wonderful energy and charming hand moves, I’ve learned a bunch already in FB & this looks fun 🤩
Fantastic first podcast, Ashlea! Look forward to your next one - and love that you are getting into Tunisian patterns. I love the fabric you can create with Tunisian stitches, and would love to figure out how to convert standard crochet patterns to Tunisian and then (!) how to convert knit patterns to Tunisian. Cheers! (And boo, hiss to those Debbie downers who had to give thumbs down. If this isn’t your thing, folks, please just move on. I’m sure you’ll find something else that is.)
Ashlea I am so happy you are doing Podcasts! 👏🏻 it’s so good to actually see you 😃 I have been on your email list for a long time and have made a lot of your patterns. Thank You so much for sharing your talent. You are so easy to follow 😃💖
Well I made a comment and I screwed that all up! So again thank you Ashlea for this new podcast series. I was crocheting and listening to the whole first episode. It’s a winner! Looking forward in two weeks to your next podcast!
Looking forward to your podcasts. Such a nice story of how you learned to crochet from your brother. What a wonderful gift he gave you :) I feel my forte in crochet is amigurumi. However it is a goal of mine to become more experienced with sized garments (ie cardigans and sweaters and such) . I recently started designing amigurumis this year. I only have 2 at the moment and one is currently in testing. Its such an exciting new adventure. I love the testing process and seeing all the wonderful finished results and amazing tester photos. I never thought that people i didn't know would actually buy the patterns, but they have. I mean its not like a ton of sales or anything. first one had 5 and the second one had maybe 15. I don't care about the numbers right now though, its still exciting and fun. Maybe someday i can grow this into something bigger for a supplemental income after retirement in case my 401k doesn't cut it. Can't wait to see what your next podcast has in store for us.
I think this is such a great idea!👍 I am looking forward to all the topics you mentioned, especially designing and Tunisian crochet. Maybe a little tapestry crochet too? Or just hanging out, watching and listening and enjoying the time 🙂
Welcome to the world of podcasting Ashlea! Congratulations on making your first episode! Soooo excited to be the first commenter too 😊😁. Looking forward to watching more! Hugs, Barb
